I am so happy I discovered Maria's salon last year from a friend! She is a true artist who knows how to work magic with your hair type. As someone who likes to dye my hair red, I feel so fortunate I found someone like Maria who knows exactly how to make a hard color like red work for you. She is also compassionate and takes her time with you so you leave her salon happy with the results! I highly recommend. Once you start going to see Maria you will become a devoted client :)

This salon is a very special place. Its always nice to leave a salon looking great, but Maria's talent is that your hair still looks great for weeks and months. Its her perfectionism and her constant integration of new methods. Her clients benefit from it all, and we appreciate her deeply for it. If you are looking for someone who will spend the time to care for you and make you look great, this is the place you are looking for. Each person on her schedule is someone she invests in, and the rewards are high.Service: Hairstyling

Maria is a master colorist and takes such good care of her people! She is always wonderful at translating my half baked ideas into something amazing. Definitely do your hair here!

Very poor customer service. Does not abide by own policies. Disappointed at a small business owner being rude and basically taking money she did not earn. I see so many positive reviews here so obviously Maria is talented. Just really unfortunate that the experience my family had was just completely unsettling and uncalled for. Do better, Maria, treat all with kindness and respect and do not take money from someone with no services were rendered. It is just wrong. Do the right thing here.

I recently got my haircut at Maria Ferry Salon for the first time. Maria went above and beyond during my haircut! She was caring and thoughtful. She took the time to consult before the haircut, clearly understood and provided an individualized cut for my curly hair. When I said I needed more education about my own hair, she provided great advice on how to best care for my hair, recommended appropriate products and even demonstrated technique for me on how to get frizz free curls. Thank you!

Amazing hair salon! Best color, cut and customer service I have received since I left Europe. Maria is knowledgeable and doesn't try to up sale. Maria let's you know on how to use the product and not to waste. The girl is amazing. She continues to educate herself on always attending classes. I have been in her salon when she provides the balayage effort I wish I was a blonde. If you are looking for an educated hair dresser check out Maria Ferry hair salon in Somerville. I promise you won't be disappointed!! Thank you Maria for fixing my hair mess!!Service: Hairstyling

As someone with naturally wavy hair, I was so happy to finally find a hairdresser that can cut my hair to enhance the curl. I recently decided to lighten my hair and Maria did an amazing job with a very natural blonde balayage. My hair looks beautifully sun kissed and the process has not damaged my waves at all. Maria is the best!

I've been going to Maria for well over a decade and I'm never disappointed with the results. Whether it's for a simple haircut or a more in depth session of balayage, Maria's professionalism and Irish lilt have made me a dedicated customer. Highly recommend.

I have never had my hair professionally colored and I spent a long time researching hair colorists in the Boston area. I finally chose Maria Ferry salon for my first balayage. The results are EXACTLY what I was looking for and I couldn’t be happier. As someone who usually cheaps out and goes to chain establishments for hair care, I’ll never look back. Your hair is an investment and you really get your money’s worth when you spend a little more on a service that has years of education and expertise behind it. 10/10.

I recommend everything! I’ve been seeing Danielle for over 10 years now and she’s a master with my hair. She cuts it wonderfully every time and the blow out is the best! Since I’ve started coloring it, the experience has gotten even better (if only because it’s an excuse to be there longer in peaceful nirvana!)

This is my first yelp review I've ever written, and I was so upset today that I just couldn't not write this. I've been trying to schedule an appointment with Maria for weeks now, and each time she leaves me a voicemail saying she's booked up. I walked down today since I live right down the street and asked her what she had available. She started off by telling me very rudely that she has a STRICT cancellation policy. If I cancel the day before, she has to charge me 100%. I completely understand that, and I've only had to cancel on her once since I've been going to her. I've explained to Maria many times that I have Lyme disease, and I was bedridden for most of 2018. I'm having better days but there are often times I feel sick again and it comes on very suddenly. This happened a few months ago when I had to cancel last minute. I felt terrible canceling the day of, but there was nothing I could do. Lyme disease has been very challenging to live with, and there is no predicting how I'll feel each day. Maria then tells me she has no availability whatsoever until October (I work from home and can make any day and time work and she still said she had nothing available). I told her I guess I'll have to find another salon and she said "I guess so!". It was very obvious she did not want me to come to her salon anymore. I left in tears. This is certainly not a business I would ever want to support again. I understand cancelling affects your business but please learn some compassion, Maria. We are all human.
