This is a hidden gem in the Boston area! Reasonable rates, comfortable rooms, and great location, the Holiday Inn Boston Hunker Hill is great for locals in need of a staycation or those visiting the area for the first time. They have an in-house restaurant with a breakfast buffet and an indoor pool complete with sports deck! My little one loved watching Toy Story as she floated in the shallow end. There is also a rock climbing wall, foozball tables, and a basketball hoop! Located right off the orange and green line and right near Assembly Row and the Constitution Museum, this hotel is perfect for tourists!

We were visiting Legoland and needed a place nearby, so location was good. It looks run down from the outside but thankfully the interior is much improved from outside appearances. The good: staff very friendly even though I think they need more than 1 person at the front desk on a weekend at check-in time. She was managing the phone, check-ins and some situation with another staff member but managed to be pleasant, helpful and keep her cool. We also ate in the restaurant for dinner as it was just the easiest thing to do, prices for a draft beer and wine seemed high and the food was average but our waitress was very nice and accommodating. Our beds were comfortable.Things that could use improvement: bathroom has been updated I’d say with a pedestal sink and a nice mirror, problem is there is now no where to put you bathroom items other than the back of the toilet which isn’t too appealing. The mirror is hung too low to use the shelf above the sink. Pool area is rundown and needs some updating and a good thorough cleaning. Also the bathroom by the pool was out of toilet paper in one stall in the morning so not thinking that maybe gets cleaned or checked daily. The foosball table is without balls and per the lifeguard has been for a very long time. Not that expensive so they should have them there and check regularly. Basketballs need to be replaced as well. None of these things are very expensive and should get updated. Also, I think my biggest beef is paying $20 to park! Come on, huge lot with few cars right on site, the price of the room is high enough to provide parking for free! There were a few other minor glitches, electric outlet that plugs fell out of, elevator was not working at one point but then was after we took the other. Also the walls are quite thin, which I kind of expect but the room next to us erupted into a loud, sweating fight after 9:30 but thankfully quieted down by 11, this not the hotel’s fault but still not enjoyable to listen to ?.

PROS: All staff was VERY friendly and great with our son, right outside of Boston- perfect location if you’re not wanting to be right in the city, pool area was great.CONS: I emailed ahead of time as this was a present for our toddler and I thought the kids movie in the pool area was an amazing idea! The manager wrote back and told me they leave the movie choice up to a vote for everyone in the pool to decide. This was fine with us. So we arrived and they had an activity calendar in the lobby. It stated what movie would be played- different than what we were told but still ok, not a big deal.It said they would be playing incredibles 2 at 4pm so we told our son, he got all excited, and we went to get ready for the pool. Upon arriving at the pool, we noticed they turned on Harry Potter instead. This was the end of the world for our toddler (in true toddler fashion), but thankfully were able to take advantage of the other great amenities in the area and played basketball, did the rock climbing wall, swam etc…Went back at 6pm for the second movie that the schedule said would be playing- instead, Harry Potter was playing again ☹️ We ditched the idea of the dive in movie for the rest of the trip…The next day we had an event at TD garden so had planned on eating dinner when we got back to the hotel since the restaurant said it was open until 10pm. Went to the event, got back, bartender said they closed the restaurant a long time ago because they weren’t busy. My husband and I understood the reasoning but it still left us with the issue of where to find dinner after we had just gotten back to the hotel after a long night.Overall, the hotel and staff were wonderful (they even gave our son a bag of snacks for the road upon checkout), but the communication and continuity was not great at all planning- wise. I gave an overall 2 stars for the friendly staff and cleanliness.

Never ever book this hotel. I’m staying here for two weeks and everyday experiencing issues here. Breakfast gets over before time and there is no water in Laundry. Also, the front desk is not supportive.

We recently stayed a few nights at the Holiday Inn. Everything from check in to check out was positive. Friendly staff at the desk and in the restaurant. Child friendly pool/game area. Quiet rooms. Conveniently located within walking distance of public transportation. The restaurant food was very delicious. Reasonable price. We will definitely be back.
