Do not deal with this dealership group. 6-10-24 3:30 pm had a handshake deal with Chambers Braintree Ford General Sales Manager. At 4:30 pm was told $3,000 more. Abhorrent business practices. Run, do not walk, from Herb Chambers Autos. Learn from my experience.

I'm dealing with a vehicle repair, and while I’m willing to be patient, so far they’ve lost my key, lied about it, and accused me of being the reason the key vanished. It turned out they had sent my key home with another car owner. This does not instill a lot of faith, and it’s very frustrating when I can’t just get a quick update. Instead I get shamed for somehow not trusting them despite them having shown themselves to be absolutely not worthy of trust.

Staff was helpful. Location is nice. They were the only dealer that had a representative in the car with us, which isn’t bad but it felt weird when literally every dealer let us see it solo. Test driving around there kinda sucks but the location is nice. Unfortunately I got a truck from Ira as Herb just didn’t have anything at a more budget price. Cheapest truck option (was looking at Tacomas) were $27k. Staff were very helpful and nice. I wish there was a better wishlist or way to have Herb find a car for you. I would have 100% bought a car from them if they could have found something in my price range and what I was looking for, but unfortunately you have to rely on what they have in stock/keep looking at the website every day. All in all, I’d recommend looking if your in the market but don’t be surprised if they don’t have what you need in your price range (under 20K).

You have to beware of Herb Chambers Morrisey Blvd Service Dept. My 2017 Civic Honda with only 8500 miles as of 7/21 had the Compressor die. I was told it would cost $1600.00 to repair. Susan the head of repair, lowered it to $650. The part was supposed to be shipped overnight. It was 4 days later I was able to take the car in at 7 am. 5pm it was not ready after being told it would be ready at 4:30. The Advisor I was assigned to Victor, was useless. Could never reach him. Always too busy to talk on the phone. Finally met him when the job was complete. Honda sent me a Satisfaction Survey. I told the truth. Susan the Repair Dept head called me at 9:30 the next day screaming about the low rating I gave them. I had to literally shout over her to be heard. She was offensive and disgusting to listen to. I told her I was going to trade my Honda in for a Toyota at Watertown Toyota. I would never by a Honda again, especially from Herb Chambers. I did write to the Corporate Office and when I hear from them I will update this review and perhaps increase stars . Meanwhile, beware of Boston Chambers Honda.

My Mercedes GL450 was rear ended. I called Herb Chambers Mercedes (had very good experiences with their BMW Allston dealership for years) and was recommended to go-to their collision center in Danvers. The collision center sent the car over to Flagship Mercedes in Lynnfield to change rear shocks and exhaust. Flagship called me and delivered the car directly to me. The car exhaust was still making weird sound, I called them back and my wife went back to drop off the car again. After a week we were told that the car is fixed. I went there to pickup the car and Nathan Haugh(service advisor), didn't look like he liked my face (maybe he doesn't like colored guys), I didn't care much and took the car and came home. The exhaust still sounded weird, I looked below the car and found that the passenger side jack hookup place had a big crack and the whole area is in by 2-3 inches (dent). Today, I went back to see them again for the problems' right away Nathan Haugh passed on the comment - ' you seem to be having too much problems after the accident" to which I replied accidents do give unnecessary troubles. I was made to wait for 2 hours, after 2 hours he comes up and tells me there is nothing wrong with exhaust and the car is 7 years old with 113k miles, you need to change engine mounts and other things. I told him car is old I know that but my problem is exhaust sound nothing else things that they did. This sound was not there even with the old broken exhaust on. Right away, the guy starts saying things - " Its an old car, you didn't pay anything - I confronted him by asking if ' they work for charity - whether my insurance didn't pay anything " His replies were weird like - ' You didn't pay anything, I told him its my insurance and I pay them , they take care of it".I asked him to make me talk to his boss to which reply was - I don't have one, then I'm not taking you anywhere, you are not respecting me. Went on saying things like - what you are talking is baloney , to which I replied eat that Baloney and respect is earned.I asked the receptionist on the side that I want to talk to his boss, she also was not ready to help. Turns out the guys sitting behind him is his boss (Director of Service). I went there and right away that guy was, - "we have state of art equipment, we don't break cars during lifting, we have 300 thousand dollar cars here, go-to Herb Chambers Chevrolet collision they must have broken it" which I know they didnt, for $300k cars I replied how does it matter to me what you have and what makes you think I can not have some cars like that, I had a BMW 7 series key in my pocket and showed him by saying here is another one. The guy god mad and said -' you are disrupting us the moment you walked in and then threatened to throw me out, then I also lost my cool said the F word a few times and left.Basically, the guys are incompetent to do a job, they just want to make money, once they get it they wont entertain, and when you confront them they will try to act hard and call you a tough guy, which I was called and was threatened to be thrown out. I'll contact my insurance and collision center tomorrow and am contemplating of filing a case in consumer court too.

I brought my Lincoln MKX for repairs to Dedham with an appointment. That was on Sep-12... let me repeat the date Sep-12-2021; today is Oct-5-2021. As of today, I still don't have a clear idea as to when my car will be ready. This is NOT definitely the Herb Chambers experience advertised all over...An incredibly dissatisfied customer

Trying to buy a car during Covid 19 pandemic has been a real challenge. They have been very slow in there ability to deliver vehicles. Sold me something that was not what I was looking for but promised they could put together the package wanted. It turns out they could not deliver their promises. They blame Covid, I blame them and their fake promises. Why promise what you can not deliver. They would not give me Herb Chambers phone number to share my experience. They must be reluctant with their performance.

Purchased a GL450 with 25,000 miles from Flagship. It was a HC certified car. Watched a movie about how it was supposed to be as good as new and never in an accident... Turned out the car was in a bad accident. Nothing offered to help me out. Service was horrible, Started going to MB of Burlington and had much better experience. Purchased a new truck from Danvers Chevrolet. Brought the truck 2 times for service and both times the truck sat for over a week even though I had appointments. Multiple phone calls went unanswered. Picked up the truck and brought it to Colonial Chevrolet, they get all my service work now. Purchased a Dodge Promaster from your Danvers Dodge dealer. Truck has leaked coolant from day 1. Dealership has not been able to fix the issue. I have to take the truck to my mechanic who handles the rest of my fleet then take the diagnosis to the dealership to get things fixed. They replaced the radiator in the truck and it fell out because the mechanic did it wrong and the body panels were out of alignment. Purchased a used Volvo from Norwood. The car was grossly misrepresented so I returned it after trying to work out something with the manager. We are now on 3 months after the return and I have asked for paperwork that shows that the loan was paid off. I had to file a charge back with my credit card company to get them to pay the deposit back, and to this date 3 months later I still have not been provided with the paperwork that I need to file for the taxes to be paid back to me. I have asked multiple times. This will be my last purchase from Chamerbs. I just want my money back like I was told they would do. I have called the headquarters 2 times and still nothing. The only recourse I have is to not sign the title that they want me to sign. I got yelled at yesterday about that. They want me to take care of my end of the bargain but they will not do their end. So we are kind of at a stalemate. 3 months later!

Go see Ted Bouchard at Herb Chambers Cadillac Lynnfield.
This guy is a gem to work with! Honest down to earth personable and goes out of his way to help!! Does not treat you like a sale! He has a following at the Dunks in Saugus. Those guys have been buying cars for years and know thier stuff. Herb Chambers take note?

Purchased a 2015 Nissan Rogue from Herb Chambers Honda with 36k miles. Within a week it started making noise. When I checked the oil it looked like chocolate milk! I asked them if they ever check the oil on a vehicle before they sell it? The service manager Chris Purcell said they did and sent me a copy of the in house work order for the car. It showed they put 0W-20 motor oil in it and a can of sea foam. I didn’t know why the lighter oil and the additive was used until I googled the two. Found out it’s a way to quiet a noisy engine! Obviously it didn’t work. Finally got them to look at the car and they said they wanted to send it to their Nissan facility in Westborough about 50 miles away and yes it was driven there. I got the bill for the tolls in the mail! They pulled the valve cover and oil pan to take pictures to send to Nissan Coporate. Once they saw the sludge and discoloring ,the warranty was voided. The vehicle was obviously neglected. I was able to obtain documentation from Nissan of this. Herb Chambers says the engine will be replaced even though I have not given any permission for work other than diagnostic! Don’t understand who would do this. I am vigorously pursuing help from the Attorney General’s office and the Office of Consumer Affairs and Elder Affairs. It’s sad and frustrating to realize that a company of this size utilizes these tactics without fear of legal consequences. But I suspect I’m going to find out why.

I made a big mistake getting a car from Herb Chambers and using their services was my worst experience ever. I would stay away from them. I'm not sure how auto manufacturers approve them, they may pay big money to sell manufacturers' cars! There is no other way. Don't bother trying to send email through their website, they don't use emails. They have unverified twitter account. They just have money. Opening locations everywhere and putting billboards on every corner, doesn't make them a big company. It is simple, just stay away. You will live longer!
