I’ve been receiving charges for picking up my packages “late.” In reality, the mailman places regular packages in the Amazon hub lockers, which you need a code from Amazon to open up. The management has been cordial, but unable to remove the charges so far, which feels completely unfair to me.
I purchase items from Amazon just to be able to open up the lockers, to avoid fees. I’m in contact with management and will update this review, but this is a common issue from residents, their lack of communication between the apartment staff and mailmen, and they charge their residents unfairly for their mistake. I’ve never experienced this from until now that I’m paying an absurd amount just to live at a “luxury” apartment that doesn’t care about their residents.
Update (from 1 star to 3 stars):
The management has continuously been cordial, and addressed the problem. Though there’s no viable solution other than to ask them to open the lockers (when you don’t have an Amazon code), at least I know what to do now. I’ve decided to get my packages sent elsewhere as I’m working during office hours, which is very inconvenient, but better than being charged fees to provide “additional space” for residents. (I realistically have 1 package per month, aside from the first few months of moving in). Anyway, the manager is great, but poor mailbox management and lack of coordination between management and mailmen still doesn’t win a 5 stars for again, a “luxury” apartment. This shouldn’t be the resident’s responsibility, but I’m happy to set aside time to visit my friend’s apartment that doesn’t charge them fees for “additional” storage.

My partner and I are super excited about moving into Avalon at Assembly Row next week, and it's mainly thanks to Katriana! Moving from across the country had us pretty stressed, but Katriana's been amazing with her quick responses and friendliness. It's not just her; the whole staff we've interacted with so far has been so welcoming, making us feel at home even before we actually move in. We're really looking forward to starting our life in Massachusetts, and with the way things have been going with Avalon, we're pretty hopeful it's going to be an awesome experience!

Terrible communication and maintenance.
Noise from maintenance crew or tenants happens throughout the night and prevents residents from sleeping.
Carpets in the hallways constantly have stain/grease marks from people dragging garbage bags. Access to resident parking area can be challenging with “broken” or non operating doors and when you call management they tell you it’s the responsibility of the garage maintenance department. The ceiling in my apartment has fallen 3 times in 3 years from water damage.
Carpet gets soaked, maintenance crew patches up the holes and makes a mess, just to do it all over again during the next heavy rain storm.
Not once have I gotten an apologie or explanation for why it’s happening.

We've had a lovely experiencing living at the Avalon at Assembly Row. The staff is great - fast and effective maintenance, and really helpful people at the front desk who are responsive and go above and beyond to be available to tenants. We are currently in the process of moving from the Avalon to the Ava, and Katriana has been incredibly helpful and flexible in facilitating everything and answering our (many) questions. We've especially appreciated having access to a 24 hour gym and the pool area and the fact that the building is so dog-friendly. The units are also a good value for the area compared to other properties in Assembly. Thank you, Katriana and Avalon Assembly staff!

Want to give a HUGE shout out to Reed Wilson who has been extremely helpful with my out of state move to Avalon in Somerville, MA with my leasing process. Reed has answered every email that I have sent him within 24 hours with answers to my questions and helpful attachments! Thank you Reed! You have made me feel that I made the best decision choosing Avalon from all the other luxury apartment competitors. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We are starting our third lease at Avalon and couldn’t have nicer things to say about the management and maintenance team. JR and Katriana specifically went above and beyond to help meet our special requests and JR did everything in his power to ensure we were able to move in on our desired date. The staff at Avalon always demonstrates how much they care about their residents. They have truly exceeded every expectation to support us and to create a smooth moving process.

I love Avalon Dental. The clinic is clean and organized. The quality of services they have is top notch. Most of all the staff are very efficient, accommodating and give you a good smile every time you come in. ? Kudos!

We came from Kuwait to the United States, specifically Boston, for a long treatment trip. This accommodation was chosen because of the lively location and the good size of the apartment. Catriana received me and explained everything I needed and was patient with me because I am not fluent in the English language. There are two points I am not comfortable with:The first is the parking, as I use two elevators to get between the apartment and the parking, and this is annoyingThe second point is that there is no cart to transport luggage without a prior request from the residence administration

I have lived in Avalon at Assembly row for two years. I have wonderful experience living in this apartment, and raising my kid with kind leasing managers and maintenance team.

We moved into a 2 bed, 2 bath on the second floor with our patio facing the pool just about two months ago and signed a 19 month lease for $4,820 per month... We figured that hopefully, by the time our lease would be ending, it would be Winter and pricing here or elsewhere might actually be lower than next July if we had taken only the 12 month lease. The apartment's actual location within the building is perfect, as is the access to everything within Assembly Row (like restaurants, the movie theater and retail shopping) and the apartment itself spacious and fully renovated, but there are way too many issues we have already started to experience. On move-in day, we noticed water running down the livingroom wall caused by the shower leaking in the apartment above, and that same weekend began hearing running and thumping and what sounded like bowling balls being dropped through our ceiling starting at about 10 AM to at least midnight (which is still happening.) We quickly learned that the excessive noise was due to a mid-sized Lab darting around after going out for a potty break or playing fetch with her owners... In addition, the lab has separation anxiety because every time she is left alone she begins barking until they return. There just aren't enough words to emphasize how continuous and loud these noises really are! Two months later, we are still trying to resolve the problem with the tenants upstairs, but they honestly don't seem to be responding well at this point and probably assume we are exaggerating it. Shortly after the initial leak, we discovered water pouring out into the hallway from a utility room door which backs to our kitchen, and of course, our luck, it was just past 5 PM so emergency maintenance had to be contacted... Eventually, Roto-Rooter did come out and the carpeting was shampooed to get rid of the nasty drain water from a backed-up sink in that area. And if these issues are not enough, for some odd reason, a breaker keeps tripping even though there are only a TV, cable box, wifi router and a couple of LED lights (All low wattage) on the circuit causing us to have to wait for everything to reboot before getting service back. Last but certainly not least, through no fault but our own for not researching it first, we realized pretty quickly that our building is directly on the flight path for Boston Logan Airport... When at its peak, we hear planes flying overhead about once per minute, and the planes fly very low and are quite loud. With all this being said, I honestly think the worst to deal with are the inconsiderate neighbors upstairs and the heavy air traffic all day and night. Everything else here at Avalon Assembly is manageable or just not worth complaining about right now... We are hoping that there will be no other surprises ahead and that maybe, just maybe, we were hit upfront with so many issues and that things will FINALLY settle down now. It is disheartening though that we had to go through so much so soon after moving in, but as mentioned before, the place is large with lots of closets for storage, feels more like a home than an apartment, and seems to have social gatherings during the year (such as a summer barbecue with live music and beer and wine) for residents to meet up, so we do like enough things about living here and will stay put for at least now til our lease is over. 3.5
