Dr Truesdale does an amazing job with his cropping. We asked for a shop crop and this is Hugo at 6 months. They healed perfectly as well.
We did not however follow the after care instructions. Which is the only reason this is a 4 star review instead of 5. We pulled off the bandages and the cup the same day he got home. We cleaned once, and let nature do it's thing, they scabbed up perfectly and healed very nicely. Being a show crop we did not post at all, ears stood fully about 4-6 weeks later.

Do not recommend- 5 years off and this practice is getting worse by the month -trying to get appointments is like pulling teeth. Weeks for time sensitive issues and years waits for annuals -when seeing any vet other than truesdale they will not give any decent level of care. My dog had a necrotic ear and chunks were falling off. We were told it's just a cut it will heal in 6 months. Went to another vet practice a few days later they scheduled an emergency surgery saying the necrosis is life threatening and will spread quickly then can enter the brain. They were right and it spread to the other ear. Called to tell Dr truesdale office and they said "ok but since you had the work done at another vet we won't ever know if we were wrong" -seems Dr truesdale just wants to make money on selling sperm of the animals only. I have been asked on every visit if I have through about making my animals reproduce and the value of the animals to sell/the sperm value. -called to say my dog won't eat, vomiting non stop, and has diarrhea. I asked to do an anti nausea med and they said ok we can see you in two weeks...what!? My dog won't eat it will die by then

If we could give more stars we would. The compassionate care from this staff is top tier. We appreciate Dr. Trusdale and staff for all their efforts and support in the loss of our beloved Sassy. We are forever grateful she spent her last days in a loving environment when she could not be home. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts- The Good Family

Predatory charges! I will preface this review by saying that this place did my doberman's ears and did a great job with them, so I appreciate that. He is approaching 2 years old now so I am gathering quotes from different Vets for his neutering. I called this place and asked how much it would cost. They said before providing a quote, it is required to go in for a consult first. Ok, sure. I went in today and all they did was weigh my dog, and tell me very high level, generic info about neutering. So I go to the front desk to schedule the neutering, and get a quote. Well now they tell me first I have to pay $70 for today;'s "exam" before I can see the price of neutering. There was no "exam" as I stated earlier. I told them this, that they are the ones who required me to come in and I shouldn't have to pay as there was no "exam". I literally just needed the price to compare to my other quotes. So I have to pay $70 to even find out the price? no way. They have a predatory payment structure and I will not be going back.

Dr Truesdale and staff are so welcoming, professional, and personable. I’m very happy to have them as part of my puppy’s extended family. I would recommend them to anyone.

We took our animals to Central Ave Vet for 9+ years, primarily because of the convenience factor as we could walk the dogs over from our house. We lost 3 dogs and a cat to old age issues during this time period, but grew increasingly dissatisfied with terribly long wait times and extremely overcrowded waiting rooms. Even parking can be an issue! Waiting 45 minutes to be seen and another 30 minutes just to pay your bill is over the top (I am not making this up, and it wasn't just one time!), plus my animals were incredibly stressed out from the experiences. The smell of the waiting room did not positively enhance the experience. From what I observed, the front desk staff and vet techs (who I found to be very nice) are incredibly stressed out - they seem to be constantly overbooked. We saw both Dr. Truesdale + Dr. O'Neil. Dr. T sent us home with one of our elderly dogs after an appointment, and the dog died in my husband's arms 2 hours later - not sure how helpful that visit was, and it was pretty traumatic to lose the dog at home. After a time, we adopted a shelter dog & brought her in right away for an exam and consult. The dog bit Dr. T twice and drew blood during the exam. We expressed concerns about safety, but Dr. T simply suggested we take her for obedience training (which we planned to do). A week later, as I attempted to put a coat on the dog she bit the side of my face! We ended up returning the poor dog to the shelter and unfortunately they had to euthanize her. Clearly Dr. T didn't have a crystal ball to know the dog was a bite risk, but certainly we were relying on him for his educated assessment of this animal, and I feel that he failed us. Eventually we got a puppy (she's now almost 6) and brought her to Central Ave Vet for all shots, neutering, grooming etc. She was absolutely terrified of going to the vet, and would whine, shake, pee etc. I finally pulled the plug and found a new vet a month ago - so far both the dog and cat seem to love the folks there! Don't be like me and get complacent or intimidated by a vet you've had issues with; LISTEN TO YOUR PETS, if they don't like going to the vet, there's a reason and there are lots of options out there!

Best canine reproductive vet in the area; just wish he wasn't so far away, but worth the trip!

I Drive over 2 hours to see Doc (William Truesdale, DVM) since he understands all breeds and the needs of a person raising dogs. I have leonbergers and he just did a c section on my girl and it was fantastic. the staff were so kind and responsive as well. Really excellent care.

Ladies were very friendly and explained everything to me. My dog was comfortable being handled, and they spoke to him, telling soothingly him he was a good boy during his exam.

cropping is painful and completely unnecessary. Despite what some breeders will claim, cropping a dog's ears does not benefit them in any way. It can be detrimental to their health, behaviour and welfare in the short-term and in the long-term. PLEASE have some compassion and stop providing services for this inhumane and cruel surgery!
