Have worked with his office in the past with no issues, never sat with him directly always with an assistant in person. Went to do my taxes this year, explaining there where differences than years prior. They completely screwed them up, didn't call to clarify, even screwing up our names... An accountant who can't even get their clients name correctly? When I brought this up they proceeded to drop me as a client with no explanation. When approached to ask for an understanding it was met with "your spouse left a bad taste in my mouth". Completely unprofessional.

Came to yelp to warn people about Bill but found I'm not alone. Called to schedule (and pay for) a brief consultation for tax advice. No call back for a week, I called back and the woman rudely said that Bill wasn't interested in helping me. Okay, fine. Clearly he has more important people than me. But what irritated me was they didn't even bother calling me back or sending me an email and you know, treat me like a human being. Anyway, Bill clearly has enough clients and doesn't need the new business but it's too bad that he's no spring chicken and these reviews are his legacy.

wow, they are so rude!! I called to ask about becoming a customer and the woman on the phone couldn't wait to hang up on me.. Take your business anywhere. They are more professional and legit businesses around! Surprised they can be in business with that attitude. I wish I could give zero stars! Dare you reach out to them. Stay away form this business by all costs!!

Maybe Bill was good years ago, but he's lost his mind in my experience. Check out yelp, others have had a similar experience recently where he cancels you out of the blue. He charged $150 for a return for my 19 year old son who's a dependent and a full time student. He doesn't need to file, I never asked for it. I asked the charge be reversed. They finally reversed charges but cancelled me as a client and would not let me pay for my taxes for 2023, deleted my account and left me without a return to file This is Bills the response to my email - completely unprofessional. Like most of the reviews here I was a long term client with an emphasis on WAS. My wife's father recently passed and she contacted Bill in January to clear up some outstanding tax issues. She was told by Bill via e-mail - which we still have - the following which is quoted verbatim: "we have extensive experience filing both final 1040 returns and MA Estate Returns ..." Then he ignores her phone calls for the next three months. When I went to drop off our 21 return I spoke to him and asked why he had not returned her calls and not only was told he does not do such tax work And told us to find someone else. He lied right to my face. worst of all, he never apologized for not returning calls. When i told him in no uncertain terms that he was a "***** - not the exact language I used - as not only was my wife still mourning but is also stressed about getting the estate return filed - he told me to go find another CPA. I told he has to be delusional that I would ever give another dime to our taxes. Bottom line: he is a degenerate human being, devoid of any professionalism or empathy. based on how I was treated, I can only imagine the stories his employees must have regarding his infantile outbursts. The man should seek help.

I actually used this service a few times for personal taxes without incident, then suddenly this year experienced one of Mr. Burton's bursts of shocking unprofessionalism, similar to what several others here and at their unclaimed Yelp page have described. Definitely not worth the risk.
