I used to bring my dog to Dr. Duca , but after the pandemic I changed to a closer vet. My dog is difficult at the vet so I switched to a larger staff. Dr. Duca is very knowledgeable and I appreciate his integrity in that he wasn't looking to charge me or add on extras. I didn't get the chance to thank him for caring for my dog when he was a puppy and early years. My dog is now 12 and doing well. I would have continued with Dr. Duca, however my dog can be a handful and we just needed a bigger staff to handle him. But thanks Dr.Duca.

I recently called to ask some information. The guy literally just hang up the phone in my face horrible customer service can’t believe that this guy still has a business.

I'm not sure why folks are so upset with Dr. Dulca. I read all of the reviews and I don't see anyone saying that he misdiagnosed a condition on an animal. Dr. Dulca, with over 30 years of experience, runs a small operation. While some may find his demeanor less than warm and fuzzy, his no-nonsense approach has earned him a loyal following. Here's what sets Dr. Dulca apart: Honesty and Expertise: Dr. Dulca doesn't sugarcoat things. He won't upsell you on unnecessary treatments or inflate your worries. Instead, he focuses on solving real problems. If your dog doesn't need a daily gourmet diet of scrambled eggs and broiled chicken, he'll tell you - because fur babies are not human children. Affordability: Despite his extensive experience, Dr. Dulca undercharges for his services. He genuinely cares about the well-being of animals. Pandemic Commitment: When other vet offices closed their doors, Dr. Dulca kept his practice open. No sitting in cars for owners; Dr. Dulca continued to serve his community. In summary, Dr. Dulca may not be your cup of tea in terms of what you would want in a typical jovial, hand-holding vet, but his dedication, honesty, and commitment to animal welfare deserve the utmost respect. My worst day will be when he retires and sells his practice. I have been to the MSCPA in JP (incompetent diagnosis and expensive treatment), Tufts Veterinary Hospital (complete misdiagnosis), the Saugus Animal Hospital (horrible customer service), Blue Pearl (ridiculously expensive overcharging for services), and a couple of others over the years. I keep going back to Dr. Dulca because he knows what he is doing. You may not like his delivery but you can trust that he will tell you the truth. I have nothing but the utmost of professional respect for this doctor.

Great experience with the doctor he was very but I do have to edit incorrect this my dog was diagnosed and now I tried to see if there was something we could do about the medical records because maybe in a few years this problem that he diagnosed my dog will occur and then the insurance will not cover it because it'll be pre-existing and I was told I have to come in and pay for another which is definitely not fair I shouldn't have to pay for another exam I already paid for an exam and was giving false information and how to figure out the problem on my own and now I'm stuck with incorrect things in my dog's medical records but I will say they're very kind and I would take my dog back basically always get a second and sometimes a third

STAY AWAY!! My mom has been a customer of Dr Darol Duca for greater than 35 years. Today she realized the medication prescribed for her cat was running out and Walgreens would require an updated prescription. My mom immediately contacted Animal Center and a very rude rep answered the phone, refused to assist my mom, continuously told my mom that there were numerous emails sent to her from a 3rd party, my mom told her she never received any emails, the rep placed her on hold and then Duca got on the phone and suggested my mom find a new vet. AFTER 35+ years!!! This guy is an a-hole! I refused to bring my dog to him years ago because of his actions. Think long and hard before contacting this place. I wish Yelp had a SUCK review to check off!

Pretty terrible front desk service. Not helpful when scheduling appointments and will schedule a booster appointment after the window of when it’s good for (and then blame you for missing the window).If you only need a basic checkup it’s fine, but don’t expect anything more than taking the pet’s weight and temperature.

Staff are so good to the animals. Very experienced veterinarian who knows what he is talking about. I like that they don't push medication or unnecessary appointments.

Dr. Duca and his assistant were wonderful and very helpful. He very clearly cares about animals and their health. I will be taking my cats to Dr Duca from now on for their vet needs. Thank you so much for helping Salem today!
