Zero stars! I was verbally attacked by the doctor, Dr. Moon, during a preop appointment. For no apparent reason, in the middle of her explanation concerning eye surgery, she abruptly stopped and began to yell in my face!! I was also told that the surgery would not do any good! I've since had the surgery at MA Eye & Ear with a successful outcome. I left the office shaken and in tears. This doctor began to call me repeatedly at home after this incident. Besides this horrible experience, I also contracted eye mites after my visit! This place is filthy dirty!

I don't even know where to start. It's difficult to keep track of how many times they have let me down. But seeing that they are the only ones in town I continue to go there.
I called a couple days ago in distress because of a sudden onset blurry dark vision. This only happened in my left eye which is the eye with glaucoma. Was wondering if my drops were making it worse or if maybe I had dry eye? I was hoping I just needed a new contact lens prescription.
When I made the appointment, the receptionist made it with Dr Bates. I inquired if she was qualified to handle this appointment, since she is an optometrist. And the receptionist said: “ Oh yes, absolutely!”
So I made the 35 minute trip this morning only for them to tell me that Dr Bates was NOT qualified to handle my issue, and I would have to schedule another appointment.
Needless to say I was irate! The nurse that I was talking to actually suggested I fight the bill. She was very apologetic and also quite familiar with the 2.9 rating of this facility.
So, That's it. I've had it. I'm done with this place that masquerades themselves to be professionals. They get an F- from me

Zero stars for contagious facility, waiting times, and price of service.
Contagious facility: I went in for a check of my left eye. Dr Oats manipulated my eye and eyelid, and found an issue that needed addressing. But, two days later, the same eye developed another issue which turned out to be conjunctivitis. This decease is highly contagious. Neither my wife nor anybody I have been in contact with had it. I believe the only place I could have gotten it is at the OBC facility. The only people that touched my eye was Dr Oats and his staff. I have to question if they practice good hygene at this facility.
Waiting times: Secondly, their waiting times are unacceptable. My initial issue and the conjunctivitis treatments required that i visit Dr Oats four times before I finally was declared healthy. In 3 of those visits, I had to wait an average of 1 hour 10 minutes between intake exam and when Oats called me into his exam room. I find his disregard for patient's time disrespectful and totally unacceptable.
Edit 3 months later:
Billing: the bills are excessive, and greedy. Dr Oats and OCB charged $800 for three visits, Medicare only allows $274. I'd say they are gouging.

Waited over an hour for a scheduled surgery. Not amused.

This is LITERALLY the worst Dr office I have ever encountered. I never write bad reviews, however, I felt the need to. Had an appointment in Oct with Dr Stark...she requested an MRI. Heidi, her assistant has yet to call me back 3 months later...
No MRI..no referrel. Left dozens of voicemails and requested another visit as my eye has been swollen shut. No call backs nothing. Went to another office. Dont let the " Boston Ophthalmic " trick you..associated with Boston...but far from the best of the best. Horrible service all around.
EDIT: 2 months after surgery, and after bad scars and damage, the lump on my eye came back. Had to go to Boston Mass Eye and Ear to get this issue redone and fixed! Careless doctors and waste of surgery and scarring. Stay away.

Dr. Soares is an excellent physician and specialist. I have been to other eye doctors over the years but she is the only one who has been so thorough and takes time to explain macular degeneration which I have in both eyes. Do research, look up her education and training.

I think every time I have come to this facility it has been at least an hour wait. Not only that, but I am in a wheelchair and the button to press to get the front door open automatically is broken. I should have turned around and left, but someone finally came out and opened the door for me. Then I had to wait in line so long to check in that patients were lining up outside the entrance because they only had one person to check people in.And then the staff got me mixed up with someone else!! How can that even happen?? So after waiting to see a doctor that I wasn’t supposed to see, I then had to wait to see the doctor that I was supposed to see. Why couldn’t they just have put me in with the correct doctor right away? The one I was originally supposed to see instead of making me wait for an hour and a half? While I liked Dr. Bates, I don’t see myself ever going back to OCB because I don’t want to be treated like that again.Update: In regards to their comment that I was seen by the correct doctor "within minutes," note that they don't write "within a few minutes" because I had to wait close to an hour to be seen by the correct doctor.

Dr Moon is fabulous! She was kind, and caring and was very thorough on explaining what needed to be done.I had my consult with her last Tuesday. For narrow angling. Dr Moon got me right in on Monday, due to the severity of my case. Her whole team was wonderful.

First of all, every single time I had an appointment with my doctor, the people at the front desk were unprofessional, contentious, rude and made everyone waiting uncomfortable. Second, My doctor recommended that I have cataract surgery which I consented to. But, then my doctor’s assistant continually messed up the paperwork. After too many phone calls back and forth with this Assistant, I started to question if I needed to get a second opinion. My belief is that if the practice is as good as the front desk. And this administration was poorly run. So, I saw my original ophthalmologist in Boston. She examined me and then told me that I didn’t need cataract surgery, maybe sometime down the road, but not now. So, I didnt need surgery. What??? My advice: don’t fool around with OCB on the Cape - go to Boston , especially for surgery.

On my recent trip to Cape Cod, I developed a condition in one eye, causing flashes of light. The call center got me a same day appointment upon my calling at 10:00 am.Dr. Reed diagnosed the problem at my 2:15 appointment and performed surgery that very day. They sent me on my way with instructions for a follow-up. Exceptional service.

Dr. Chan and her staff rectified cateracts in both of my eyes and were very thorough, professional and caring. I'm happy!
