Myself and my family have been visiting The Hungry Traveler for more than 10 years, and it is a solid 30-minute drive for us to get there ! Don't be surprised if there is a wait to be seated. If there is, don't be discouraged. It's worth every minute of your time. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, clean and cozy. Whatever you're wearing is perfect. A rehearsal dinner party in suits and dresses might be next to a group in "right off the beach" attire.Ok... The Food ! If it's busy, the arroma will drive your stomach nuts. Seafood? Of course, and anything you order will be as good or better than the best you've ever had.Turf ? Absolutely, and if Prime rib is available during your visit, OMG, just get it ! The menu is large and varied. You may have trouble deciding what you want.Intimate groups would be wise to have everyone order something different and share. The prices? They're in line or better than other eating establishments, and they won't break the bank. The quality more than justifies the price. Hey....Stop reading this and get your butt over to The Hungry Traveler !

Yesterday, my family and I decided to have dinner at the hungry traveler. I wanted to Have Only the salad bar. It was going to cost me $22. The salad bar is very basic and doesn’t have anything special added to it. There were also two soups to choose from. We have been going to this restaurant often on for decades, but I have never seen things as pricey as they are now. I used to be able to get entrée and it came with the salad. if I want just a salad the price of sky high. They make you buy an entrée in order to get the salad bar for $11. That is still outrageous. Anyway, I ordered the nachos and they were just horrible. The chips were cooked too much. The entire dish was dry. It was poorly made. There was hardly any hamburger on it and it was completely undesirable. I am very upset with my experience at Hungry Traveler. I cannot end this review without saying that our waitress was amazing. I wish I remembered her name so that I could give her a credit.

I will not be going back. The food was good, the waitress was exceptional, however, the atmosphere was horrible. The "busboy" was absolutely rude as can be. The old man with a mustache had a miserable look on his face as he was throwing the dishes from previous diners, into his cart as loud as possible. This went on for a good 3 minutes with nobody saying a word to him. I'm not talking carelessly cleaning up the table, this man was smashing the dinnerware as if trying to break it. I would have fired him. No excuse to be this ridiculous around patrons, let alone be allowed to continue. The place was not very busy at all, and its clear to see why. Today, St. Patrick's Day, they have lost another customer.

Stopped here once before during the pandemic, because we were able to eat outside. Couldn’t remember if we liked the meal, so we tried it again. Took forever to get our food, but we weren’t starving, so it was OK.I will say that, as we were walking in, two people walked out, and they both smiled and said to us that it was worth the wait! I’ve never had somebody give me a stellar review of a restaurant on their way out. So that was a really good sign!I ordered the beet Gorgonzola salad and was deeply disappointed. There were pieces of older, yucky greens mixed in, and the beets were way too plentiful and overpowered the salad. Usually when you get a beet and Gorgonzola salad, they are roasted beets. These were pickled beets from a commercial can. They didn’t rinse them, they didn’t even remove the cloves, because sadly as I was eating the salad I got a mouthful of cloves. That hurt! I didn’t even eat a quarter of the salad before I pushed it away. $14 wastedMy partner got the veal Parmesan. Part of it was burned, most of the veal was chewy, and only the center was edible. The mashed potatoes on my sons stuffed chicken had no flavor at all. He said they were highly processed. The green beans looked fresh and crispy , the other member of our party had baked haddock au gratin. It was a lot of cheese and potato and she didn’t even eat half of it.So overall, this is a great restaurant for people who aren’t used to eating health conscious- freshly made ingredients. if you are a smoker or former smoker, probably better. You wouldn’t be too critical.I think the atmosphere is nice and comfortable and the staff are wonderful. I would call it a good local pub.

The service was good but the food was much to be desired. I figured once it was under new management, new owners, the food would be just as good as it used to be but it's definitely not. Smells like stale cigars in there.. not that clean.. $60 for a lunch, I Won't Go

The manager/owner was hostile, aggressive and highly inappropriate. We have been customers for over 30 years and would NEVER return. I encourage everyone to stay away from this restaurant as food quality is poor, prices increased and the overall environment is dirty.

Stopped in for lunch and got Lobster rolls with soup and salad bar. The roasted chicken soup was delicious, very decent Lobster roll with a good portion of meat on the roll. Friendly service as well. I hadn't been in several years and was sad when I heard it almost closed a few years back. I was very pleased on my recent visit and happy to report that it's still going strong. I'll be back again for sure.

Terrible service 45 minutes waiting for meals and never came. Hostile interaction with owner who didn't listen to my complaints and told me never to return if I was dissatisfiedI certainly won't, and suggest that all others find another place to eat

My Wife and I ate here for the first time and were very happy. We had Lobster roll with onion rings and both were fantastic. The clam chowder was great as well. The prices were excellent and the quantities just right.
