I was mind blown that someone thought it was okay to rent out a van covered in shattered glass. I got to the van and the passenger side window was taped over with shards of glass in the seats, floor, dashboard and every cup holder. When I went back in the guy said “oh there was an accident, you won’t be responsible”. I ended up having to vacuum the thing myself on my time and drive into Boston with the worlds loudest plastic window.They even tried to get mad at me for being a few minutes late because I had to clean out so much glass.Go somewhere else!

I have rented trucks through Jefferson Ave Uhaul in the past and the trucks have been clean and well cared for...however, the management and "one" person allowed to process sales or rentals is abrasive--with absolutely no customer service skills. I don't know if Uhaul stores are independently owned and operated or if it's a corporation, but this particular facility needs a major change in management and training for its employees. The other employees were trying to help customers but kept telling folks waiting in line they weren't trained so customers could only go to the manager for help, who responded he wasn't available to help. My advice, If you need packing supplies or a truck rental I highly suggest trying another facility. Use the Jefferson Ave Uhaul at your own risk. This one is an extremely stressful experience.

DO NOT RENT FROM this location or U-Haul in general. Terrible service, terrible attitude but most importantly a huge RIP OFF! Rented a van and was charged for a dent that did not happen period. No contact from anyone about the charge just showed up on my bank statement after other charges processed with no explanation. A huge scam. From reading the reviews, I am not the first to be scammed from this place so do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I would give this location a negative star rating if I could. The manager is surly, abrupt, routinely argumentative with customers both in person and on the phone. I've witnessed and experienced his ridiculous wrath. Thankfully they have a few long time helpful, reasonable employees ... one is the former manager. Do yourself a favor and deal with Tatiana at the Danvers MA location.

I have not to many words for this uhaul location. All I have to say is do not rent a truck from this place. They will try and charge you for bogus damages , faulty fuel gauges and add on insurance when your not paying attention. Please take my advice.

Apparently the roof was scratched when I returned the vehicle. I did not know. There was no communication from the store manager as I saw it on the bill. I went to the store, the manager ignored me for 30 minutes, then showed me the area that he thinks was scratched. I did not notice the scratch by touching and he did not seem to be interested in explaining further. I do not understand the process, and there might have been a scratch, it is just the customer service was awful. I like uHaul as a brand since it is convenient and vehicles always met my need, but getting charged for $450 with zero communication and additional in-person ignorance was a poor etiquette for this brand.

I should have read the reviews here first, although we needed a quick truck nearby and were out of options. I booked online no problem and chose the Mobile PickUp option to save time when we got there. I had booked a furniture dolly as well but at the point in the checkout process where it asked if my dolly was in the truck, it wasn't. It said I had to go inside so I did. I waited for 25 minutes inside where there wasn't a single employee to help anyone. Finally manager Anthony came in. When I said the dolly wasn't in the truck he repeatedly asked if i did it via mobile, more condescending each time. I repeated several times i had and then he said, "oh I don't get that information, you have to come inside to get it." Which doesn't make a lot of sense. You clearly got my order information and prepared a truck for me, so why wouldn't that be included? Why would Mobile even be an option if people have to go into the office for supplies they ordered? It certainly wasted my time. I was annoyed but not at the manager, more at the stupid policy. In hindsight, it seems more reasonable that he forgot to put it in the truck and made up a stupid excuse to cover himself. Walking out to the truck I was voicing my general annoyance and I dont know if he took it personally (like...why?) and rudely said, "Let me show you how to open this door or else I'm going to charge you $2000." I said "You don't have to be rude." He flipped the door up angrily saying "Do it yourself" and stalked off. Flabbergasted at his unprofessionalism, I heard him mutter he was going to get the dolly and I said "Yeah, get it" because at this point I was angry. He turned around and strode forward aggressively with his finger pointed at me talking about how he wasn't going to give us the truck. At this point my husband stepped in to appease the situation but he later said he thought the guy was going to hit me. Upon returning the truck my husband talked to him to tell him how unprofessional he had been and how some people wouldn't let those actions stand. He puffed his chest out as most small men with a Napoleon complex are apt to do when challenged and told us to get off his lot, talking about getting our license plate #, etc. Reading other reviews, it's clear this guy is a problem and should be nowhere near customer service. I'm honestly pretty shocked he still has a job. Go to literally any other UHaul, seriously.

Manager Anthony Gambalo took a threatening stance with my wife over a moving dolly error. Incredibly aggressive and immature. I went back to ask about it and told him how I was feeling and he blew up. He was very unreasonable and I can't believe the behavior. He was very lucky, another man may have not been able to allow this behavior towards his wife without further elevated behavior. Despicable. Was impossible to communicate with this man. He should know some people won't stand for that. Seems customer service people lately have been unhinged. Not putting up with it.

My fiancé and I had rented a truck for moving about a month ago and we paid for everything in full when we rented the truck and everything was taken care of by the time we were done with moving. To this day (6/2) ever since we moved (5/1) my fiancé has been getting random charges (luckily his bank declines them since he isn't authorizing the charges) but it's all random amounts from uhaul.. one day it's $100 and the next day it's $75 and another day it's $80.... It just seems really shady to be receiving these random attempted charges after paying for everything in full so if you go here just watch out for that. I gave 2 stars because the person who helped us out at the store was nice to us

I made an appointment online, and paid for said appointment. I went at my shceduled time and they told me I didnt have an appointment. They told me I had to wait for someone to call to confirm the appointment which never happened. So I made another appointment while I was there and made sure it was confirmed. So I brought my car in to get a trailer hitch installed at 8:30 in the morning. I didn't hear anything back all day. By around 5:00 pm I called them, only you can't reach this specific location by phone. The next day they finally called and said it was ready. I get there and I had to ask for them to install the ball for the trailer hitch. They hadn't done it. They did it and I left. Little did I know they installed the ball upside down! I will never be going back here and you shouldn't either.

ZERO STARS. The worst customer service I've ever received in my life. The general manager abruptly told me he didn't like my attitude and cancelled my reservation. This threw off my trip by 3 hours. Luckily the nearby Lynn location had friendly, competent management.
