I am so bummed. I walk all the way to the House of the Seven Gables because Google shows it open and it is closed for the next few months.I’ll have to catch the tour on another visit.

I loved. The guide was very kind and professional. He must have been doing this for a long time. He speaks well, articulates well, doesn't speak too quickly when English is not your first language. The visit was good and the house too. This is to be done in Salem.

Interesting museum. You can choose to either tour the gardens only or the gardens plus the inside of the houses for different price points.I visited during October in a weekday and had no issue getting tickets at the ticket booth. That being said, October is a crazy month in Salem and it’s recommended to buy tickets in advance if this is an attraction that really interests you

Incredibly Enjoyable, Beautiful, InformativeMost of us have had to read one or another of Nathaniel Hawthorne's books: Visiting the home of his birth, his writing desk, and the house that inspired his book "The House of Seven Gables" truly helps bring another layer to the stories he wrote. There's a candy shop across the way, I'd recommend grabbing a few pieces to enjoy in the courtyard, as you wait for your tour.Tickers are required.

I very much enjoyed the tour of the House of the Seven Gables. David, our tour guide, was full of facts and wry humour that really added depth to what was already a fascinating house. It helps that the location was superb and the hidden staircase was a must see treat!Definitely a must do!

I visited Salem for Halloween. This was my first stop. The tour is approximately 45 minutes long and contains lots of history. The tour relays all aspects of the family and house's history. Our tour guide did a good job discussing some of the more sensitive/controversial portions. You are lead through the house, which includes the original wings and the expansions. The tour includes low ceilings, stairs, and narrow stairwells. If you have issues with tight spaces there are a couple of rooms you may have to skip. The outside grounds and view of the harbor is beautiful. The tour was a good starting point for my evening in Salem.

What an amazing experience! Beautiful establishment, Our tour guide Connie was very knowledgeable about this place. She took us through the house and it was like a maze, very fun and amusing. We also learned about Nathaniel Hawthorne and his family. Not to mention that they have a gift shop and a pretty garden. Can’t wait to come back next year!

This was an amazing tour! My 11 and 12 year olds loved it too. There’s so much history and really cool things to see in this museum. Our tour guide, Louise, was great! Knowledgeable and nice-she led us through the house and kept the tour moving at a perfect pace. I never got bored and I never felt rushed. There is some really neat information! Everyone is friendly and nice and their gift shop is just perfect. Walking through Nathaniel Hawthorne’s house was pretty awesome too. Being an English teacher made this experience even better! I could see everything, in person, that I taught. If you need a tour, take this one!!! There are some surprises too!

Would definitely go back. This place is well preserved, and the tour was excellent, although we got a little lost between spot 1 and 2. We did the grounds tour and visited the Hawthorne House. It's beautiful and pristine. The views were amazing, and my children enjoyed the games in the counting house. The gardens are beautiful, and early evening is a great time to visit.

This was very organized by time and the staff were friendly and helpful. Information was given for audio tours before or after the main tour. There was always someone outside to help guide and answer questions as well as keep you informed of your tour time. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and gave many opportunities for questions.
