Tried to con me out of transmission work suggesting to not get any work done or replace my transmission due to burnt dark fluid and in short time it will eventually slip and not move at all. He also had a detailed explanation for doing so. I brought my car to another shop and the transmission shudder and mild slipping was gone after a simple fluid flush and filter change. This guy has cars for sale hoping i would sell mine for cheap since it had low miles. He seem interested in it. My suggestion is get several opinions from other shops before you are conned into having a transmission rebuilt or replaced, you may not even need one at all with a simple transmission flush. Don't sell your car to these guys if they try to con you into it. This shop never even suggested a transmission fluid change and flush.

After having some transmission issues with my 2004 Honda I brought it to J&G transmission and they said the whole transmission would need to be replaced and gave an estimate that seemed way too high. When I went to pick it up, he charged a $150 diagnostic test fee that we had not been told about and was very rude. The car is too old to replace the transmission so we brought it to Creedons for a second opinion. Within an hour they said they had cleared some codes and it was good to go. The transmission was fine and did not need to be replaced. Definitely recommend Creedons. Do not go to J&G!!

Magnificent experience. Junior and Frank are both highly skilled technicians AND great individuals. Their honesty and skill make this the ideal company to work on your car. As a woman, I'm always waiting to be stereotyped as has happened through the years but Junior and Frank treated me simply as any customer whose car needed service. It was refreshing to be addressed with sincerity as well as getting an explanation what and why my car was having issues. THIS is the place to go!Service: Transmission

Still waiting for an actual invoice of what they repaired on my van. Called multiple times and have been ignored. It's been 2 months. Cost me over $700 no estimate was given before and the receipt does not show what they actually did for work.

tl;dr Transmission overhauled without understanding cause of problems. Issues immediately after being fixed. Told me I needed another complete overhaul within 6 months, and wouldn't honor their 1 year warranty. Inspection from dealership said there are no issues with transmission. J&G tried to scam me, and you should not trust them. Full details below. Long version: I only leave reviews that warrant them. This is absolutely one of those. In July, I was 2 weeks from taking my truck on a 2,000 mile road trip with my sons and dogs, when a warning message for my transmission came up. Not willing to risk breaking down on a long trip with kids and dogs, I took it to this place that, at the time, had good ratings. After dropping it off, they called me and told me that my overdrive was shot and that it needed a complete overhaul. $3,500. I specifically noted this road trip and that the truck needed to be perfect so I expected them to be thorough. Fast forward to road trip. Issues with first gear slipping, issues with accelerating over 75 MPH, issues with ignition (which was also replaced). I brought it back to their shop referencing these issues, and expected them to take care of it since they have a 1 year warranty on their work. When I came back to pick it up, they told me I needed another complete overhaul of the transmission. When they told me that the issues were again with the overdrive, I was almost relieved because despite being without my truck for a few days, that this wouldn't result in anymore of costs. However, despite zero errors in the dash, that I was responsible for the issues I was experiencing because I didn't bring it back to their shop immediately. They worked very hard to convince me that the issues were tied to a brake sensor issue, even though they were unsure of the specific issue "because cars can be complicated". They "offered" to do all of this work supposedly at a loss, to the tune of $1,200, still without understanding the brake issue that supposedly caused the problem. The issues were again in the overdrive, the exact area where the issue began. This means that they chose not to diagnose the cause of the issue, and were simply happy to charge me for the work. My bet is that they did that so they could get the additional money for the 2nd overhaul, conveniently uncovered by their "warranty". They refused to stand by their work, they refused to acknowledge that they didn't address the original issue in a complete way. While arguing with them about all of this, I was told "it's going to be much more expensive to do this somewhere else", which was essentially a threat to keep my truck there, and if I took it off the property, that the "deal" was off. I took it to a dealership and they confirmed that there were no new issues with the transmission, and that the issues I was experiencing were tied to other odds and ends that needed to be remedied. The dealership also gave me a significant list of different potential causes to the original transmission issues I had, all things that can absolutely be tested, proven and communicated before dropping more than a mortgage payment on shoddy, unreliable work. I'm leaving out details about their lack of responsiveness, their lack of explanations, their indignant attitude toward my concerns, the huge gaps in time scheduling drop-off/work. Most importantly, when I asked after the initial fix to see the parts that they replaced, conveniently the scrap company had picked it up just that afternoon! What a coincidence. When you look at the receipt of the work done, the mileage in and the mileage out were the same, meaning they didn't drive it to see if the work they did was correct. No pictures of the work they did. No evidence of anything that they had done. No attempts to diagnose the actual issues. They hold you over a barrel, and prey on the fact that you aren't a mecha

I've had work done on my car by them for a few years now. They won't shy away from major jobs and they give a fair price for the work.
