The owner of Healthy Hounds, Rachel, absolutely loves dogs and it shows through the individualized care and attention she gives to each of her client pups, as well as their owners! She treats my pup like he is a member of her own family, and beyond that, has helped me by making training recommendations based on her observations and interactions with my dog. Rachel has a thorough understanding of the dog care and training scene on the North Shore and is happy to share her knowledge and experience with her clients, which I have greatly appreciated.Rachel is hands on and personally involved in the facilitation of playgroups to ensure a safe and rewarding experience for all of the pups in her care. Their safety is her first priority, and its so nice to be able to leave my dog at playgroup confident that he is safe, well looked after and also having a blast! Rachel is forthright and transparent about the practices at Healthy Hounds and was happy to show me inside her awesome facility when I inquired about joining. She also offers a pick up and drop off service, which makes sorting the logistics of my day much easier and ensures that my pup gets out for play. I cannot recommend Healthy Hounds strongly enough. They are undoubtedly among the best in the business.

We recently boarded our dog Willa with the owner Rachel while we were on vacation and I HIGHLY recommend her for your boarding/daycare needs.I am a nervous wreck with our dog (Willa). She’s a very sensitive & anxious rescue pup and I have only trusted family members to watch her previously.Rachel was incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and went out of her way before our trip to spend time with Willa, take her for walks, and understand her individual needs so Willa was comfortable when we were away.During our trip, Rachel was communicative and alwayssending us photos/updates on how she was doing. I am so thankful to have found her!

My two boys, Elijah and Klaus, just love Rachel! She cares for them as if they are her own pups. I feel like she really makes an effort to get to know our boys and their individual needs. She is also very flexible and easy to work with, especially for at-home stays and walks. We love Healthy Hounds!

Would highly recommend Healthy Hounds, Rachel is terrific with the dogs and of course my dog Beans! He can’t wait to get there every morning and see his buddies. He loves it!! Rachel has been especially accommodating to my special needs. Can’t say enough, if you have a dog don’t hesitate to enroll him/her with Healthy Hounds!

My dog Beau has been going to Healthy Hounds for over a year now and loves it! Rachel does such a great job not only loving and caring for the dogs, but also ensuring the safety and compatibility of them within their playgroups. Hosting multiple playgroups, she makes sure that dogs play well and equally together. And while I’m a little offended at how happy Beau is to go to playgroup and reluctant to come home, I am so happy to have found a place where he can play his little heart out and come home to sleep the rest of the day.

Our dog Pip has been going to Health Hound for almost two years. He has such a fun time there with all of his dog friends! We receive photos of his play time which is fun to see and to share with our family. The owner, Rachel, keeps the dogs safe while they’re playing in the outdoor and indoor facilities. H. H. is Pip happy place away from home!

I started my dog at Healthy Hounds a few months ago. I was looking for daycare and boarding options. After much research, I decided to contact Healthy Hounds in hopes there was an opening. An onsite visit was required and we passed the test! To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the outdoor space but improvements are on the way and my dog absolutely loves the time she spends at Healthy Hounds twice a week! Rachel cares so deeply about the safety of the dogs under her care and goes out of the way to maintain a safe environment. My dog boarded with Rachel over thanksgiving and both had a great visit with each other. If fact Rachel can’t wait for my next trip so she can have my dog stay with her! The dogs are so well cared for, as if they were her own. Don’t hesitate choosing Healthy Hounds!

We met Rachel over the Christmas period at her facility in Salem. She couldn't have been more helpful with her time and advice. After the initial meeting Rachel set up two play dates for our puppy to introduce him to her group. All went well and from my observation she has cultured a genuine family atmosphere for both Human and Puppy clients.Unfortunately for us our work schedules changed and we needed to re evaluate our puppy care.So while we did not end up using Healthy Hounds (for now) I would highly recommend Rachel/Healthy Hounds for your puppy play dates. She shows a genuine concern for her business and more importantly the puppies in her care!!

We started bringing our dog to Healthy Hounds 5 years ago. Our dog has benefitted greatly from the exercise and socialization with other dogs. She looks forward to going each day and comes back tired from all the running. There are both large indoor and outdoor facilities, so she gets exercise in any weather. We were so impressed with the care and attention and love our dog received that when the opportunity presented itself, I became a part of the organization. As a satisfied customer, I joined the team as a part time employee. For over a year I have been transporting dogs between their homes and Rachels facility, and back to their homes.

We've been bringing our shiba inu to Healthy Hounds for a year. He loves it there! A giant indoor space to run around and a run to the outdoor play area. The owner, Rachael, knows dogs so well and has made a great space for the pups. She is communicative to us, sending photos of our dog every session. If you're looking for a dog daycare in the Salem/North Shore area, I highly recommend Healthy Hounds!

Unfortunately Rachel was unable to provide daycare for Judy our German Shorthair Pointer, but she spent an enormous amount time trying to help us find daycare for the day we were visiting Boston. We were passing through and only needed one day of care and even though there was nothing in it for her, Rachel spent many hours contacting other sitters to refer us to. Thanks to Rachel we found a very good person and enjoyed our visit to Boston.

Healthy Hounds is absolutely amazing! I reached out to Rachel after having a horrible experience at another doggy daycare in Salem. She immediately made me feel at ease with bringing our new puppy to her. She truly cares about you and your dog. Rachel took the time to get to know us and our puppy before bringing her in. Before her first day with other dogs, our puppy was allowed to meet Rachel and see the space. This was helpful for us as well as our puppy. We love how clean Healthy Hounds is and how cautious Rachel is of the dogs that are grouped together. We also appreciate her policies regarding the health of the dogs that come in. We always know when our puppy is there that she is with other dogs who are healthy. It's apparent our puppy loves Healthy Hounds too, she jumps out of the car to Rachel and comes home exhausted! Thank you Rachel for such a happy place for our puppy.

Before going to Healthy Hounds, my dog Molly was anxious around people and other dogs. The change in Molly over the past 5 months has been amazing. She now knows how to socialize with other dogs in all situations and is more relaxed around people she doesn’t know. Rachel’s facility is immaculate and her attention to each dog’s needs has made this such a positive experience. This is not the usual doggie day care. I can’t recommend Rachel and Healthy Hounds enough!

Very clean and lovely atmosphere. Rachel takes great care of our two dogs and regularly sends photographs during their stays. The dogs seem to love it - they tend to be sleepy in the evenings after a stint at Healthy Hounds!

The woman got mad at me for turning my car around in her parking area. Keep in mind we just had 2 feet of snow so the maneuvering is tight in their location. She told me it was private property and do not ever turn around there again. If she treats people like this, I’d hate to see how she treats animals. I would never bring my dog here.
