I am still in the early phases of working with NACA. I have heard good things about this organization and am looking forward to going through the process. I had my first meeting with a counselor and they were informative, thorough and patient.

So far the NACA process is a little tedious but overall it still appears to be the best program for first time homebuyers across the country. I still recommend sticky through it til the end!

Attended the workshop and had my first loan counseling session a few months ago. The process is seamless but uploading the required documents can be time consuming. Once you have completed the initial steps, its easy communicating with the loan counselor to understand the overall process.

After a completely random conversation I had with two friends over this summer I did some YouTube and online research into NACA. I must say it all sounded too good to be true with the benefits provided but I eventually signed up for a workshop in September and the following month did my intake and now in November I am preparing for my qualification to buy my first home. NACA is not advertised enough in my opinion and needs to be discussed so much more as a way to purchase a home for people of all income levels and I am happy I have learned about them this year. I can not say enough good things about my counselor who is on her game and provides concise information and did a very thorough job with my documents to highlight what I was missing and what more was needed. One con I saw all over the internet was the process of getting qualified, as my experience goes if you have your ducks in a row and do what is required of you it will be a very fast process. NACA for the WIN!

NACA has been an excellent opportunity to achieve this great goal of buying my property. My mortgage advisor made my process easy since, with all her knowledge, she knew how to guide me step by step until I could obtain what I wanted most since I arrived in the USA.

I just started my journey into the home buyer process with the NACA program and I just wished I knew about it before hand. The process is a bit overwhelming with paper works that you have to submit but your intake personnel assigned to you make everything easier by explaining everything step by step. It’s a wonderful program they really making sure that you are 100% ready to become a first time homebuyer. It’s Incomparable due to the fact that you won’t have to pay for any down payment, banks fees or closing cost. All this money can stay in escrow so you can assure you’ll have st least 4 months of rent payment is there if you ever became unemployed or sick. They really helped me budgeting better because of them I realized I was over spending on unnecessary stuff. I am really thankful for that. Can’t wait for my next intake yep getting closer to my goal.

I recently closed on my first home through NACA. It’s definitely an exciting experience. I definitely had a great mortgage approval experience. The mortgage counselor I worked with was great and as long as you stay on top of uploading your documents you should be good. But, after closing I ended up having to send my son to live with my mother in another state while I lived in my car for 15 days, and in a homeless shelter for 5 days and now I’m living with family out of state. I’m officially paying my first mortgage payment while my son and I are homeless. The NACA Hand Department is the absolute worst! From the beginning they advertised having an abundance of “resources” to help with repairs. So I believed it and purchased a home that needed very minor repairs. Upon getting to the Hand Clearance portion I had to move my closing date 5 times because the Hand Department wanted me to get a quote for extremely minor things like extending a gutter spout that most contractors literally laughed at. But, I did indeed get the quote for the repair that was most important which was asbestos removal and I got a great quote. After 5 closing extension due to the HAND department sitting on my file. I was finally HAND cleared and closed on the home. I attended the Hand Departments, 1 and a half hour “workshop” where the young lady literally just read a PDF that could’ve simply been an email. In this workshop I found out that if they don’t have a contractor that is NACA certified they would need to1. Attend a 2 hour workshop (where they read a PDF that goes over step by step how to fill out standardized business forms ACH form ,and a W9, another thing that could be just an email)2. Send in all of their license and insurance documents to NACA, then they have to register and it takes NACA 2 weeks for them review the information, and approve them.3. Once they’re approved the contractor has to submit a bid to do the work, which then takes NACA another 2 weeks to review and approve them to do the work.4. Once the work is completed we have to request a draw which can take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks for them to send someone out to view that the work is done and 2 weeks for the contractor to get their money. So in my case the work is done in 3 days and the draw person will not review the work for a month after. Which is crazy! So in summary, the contractor can’t begin the work on the house for at least a month after you close. They have to go through a vigorous process to be approved to do work they do everyday, which can be a little demeaning to them as professionals (In my experience from the over 53 contractors I have spoken too none of them will not work with Naca even the ones who have worked with Naca in the past won’t work with them, again). Upon finishing the work they have to wait a month and a half to get paid for their work. This vigorous process does not leave room for negotiation or for multiple bids. So my original contractor walked away because of them and now I have contractors quoting me up to $15k over the original estimate and they still don’t want to work with Naca and according to the Naca representative that I spoke with if I don’t get this work done I could lose my house and still have to pay Naca for defaulting. So basically I bought a home through NACA to be homeless with my son. The stressful part of it is that my son starts school in 2weeks so I’m going to have to go back to the shelter with him just so he can go to school. This was definitely not what I thought NACA was about. I’m highly disappointed in this organization and their practices and lack of compassion.

I attended the NACA Homebuyer workshop in Boston. Great event. I had a little understanding of NACA before but after the workshop, I walked away with a great deal of knowledge. NACA is a great program for those looking to purchase a home no matter your situation. Great questions were asked and answered. At the end of the workshop, they walk you through how the access your NACA ID so make sure you stay until the end. The NACA ID is needed to get the ball rolling and to upload documents, and get started with a counselor. Great program, great people, great experience so far!

NACA is really great program for first time home buyers! The counselors are knowledgeable, dedicated, and work hard to make home ownership are a reality. You just need to do your part which can be lengthy and they'll hold your hand and see you through.

Had my first loan counseling session a few weeks ago. Process was very seamless. Uploading all the required documents is major first step which is quite time consuming. Once you have completed the initial steps, its wonderful communicating with the loan counselor to understand the overall process.

The NACA (neighborhood Assistance of America) first home buyerprogram is designed to help people like me! to achieve the dream of homeownership. The program provides affordable mortgage options with no down payment, no closing costs, and fees. NACA will offer free financial counseling and assistance with budgeting and credit repair to help applicants like me! NACA will also provide support to homeowners after they purchased their home to ensure they remain financially stable and can continue to maintain their mortgage payments.

I was referred to NACA by a colleague/friend and I was inspired by the good mortgage services provided. I became a NACA member in 12/2022. I'm so excited my process is moving steadily in preparation with the help of an awesome counselor. He answers my queries/questions well and his guidance in this mortgage process. I'm learning a lot and with the knowledge I have I will continue to pass it on to family, friends, and neighbors whom some I have already shared with. I want everyone to know about NACA because they are America's Best Mortgage Program. I'm so excited and happy I'm almost owning my own home.

I had my intake session with my NACA Counselor today. Faith was AMAZING! She reviewed all of my documents, walked me through the overall process and answered all of my questions. I left the session with clear next steps and our next meeting on the calendar. This is a highly supportive process and NACA is the best option available for support in becoming a home owner. Highly recommend!
