DO NOT SHOP HERE IF YOU ARE BLACKThis weekend I was racially profiled by the store clerk. I had gone into the store to buy some skittles. I had a small bag on me with two spiced cokes (a new variant of Coca Cola not sold at this store) and a copy of just dance 2 for the Wii. I walk take two steps bend down to grab the skittles at the front place them on the counter and tell the clerk just this. Immediately she accuses me of having multiple packs of skittles and I tell her no just this. She then proceeds to ask to look in my bag. I oblige because I just want to get in with my day. She sees the two cokes (again a variety they don’t sell at this location) she then goes to look in the fridge to make sure I didn’t steal them. A reminder I have taken two steps into this shop and have gone no where near the fridge I came only for the skittles which are kept at the front of the store. Once she sees nothing has been taken from the fridge SHE REVIEWS THE SECURITY TAPE! After all that she the finally scans my skittles they come out to $2.50. I guess she wasn’t satisfied by ruining my afternoon enough because she hits a few buttons on the computer and suddenly they are $4 plus tax. Frankly this is unacceptable behavior and this store will not be seeing my patronage again and the better business bureau will be hearing about the actions taken by this employee.

I stop here at Hill side Market almost every day on my way to work, and they never disappoint. The staff is efficient and friendly, and the checkout lines move quickly. It's my go-to place for a morning coffee and a quick snack. Plus, they have a good selection of groceries, making it convenient for those last-minute shopping needs.

Hillside Market has truly earned its reputation as a local favorite. With their pioneering drink creations and their convenient frozen food selection, they have become a haven for people like me who crave a delicious treat at odd hours. If you're looking for a place that combines innovation, convenience, and exceptional service, look no further than Hillside Market. This place holds a special distinction as being the first establishment to introduce the popular drink that has now taken the town by storm. It's truly impressive to see how they consistently stay ahead of the trends, bringing unique and exciting flavors to their customers.

This market is known for racially profiling students and accusing them of stealing. Their customer service is terrible because they treat people very rudely. If you're looking for a convenience store in mission hill, this is the last place you want to be buying something.

There are plenty of other convenience stores nearby that are sane enough to not make their customers uncomfortable. The staff here are notorious for racially profiling. I’m a northeastern student and have never had a good experience here. Do yourself and BIPOC a favor and take your money elsewhere.

OWNERS ARE RACIST !!!! Terrible customer service. My friend and I went in to buy a water bottle and the guy behind the register said “make sure they don’t steal.” The worker then followed us (two female MINORS) around the store. We were so uncomfortable and left without the water.

If you're in the Roxbury area of Boston and looking for a delightful shopping experience, look no further than Hillside Market. This hidden gem has captured my heart with its exceptional quality, friendly atmosphere, and diverse selection. From the moment you step foot inside, you'll be greeted by warm smiles and a sense of community that is truly special.Beyond the produce section, Hillside Market boasts a well-stocked grocery section that caters to all your needs. From pantry staples to specialty items, you'll find an extensive range of products that are carefully curated to meet the diverse tastes and preferences of their customers. The shelves are always well-organized and neatly displayed, making it easy to navigate and locate what you're looking for.Lastly, I must mention the affordable prices at Hillside Market. Despite its emphasis on quality and local products, I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. It's refreshing to find a place that offers such value without compromising on excellence.

There was an indian lady working the register that was very rude to me and another man in the store. She kept track of whatever i was grabbing. I decided i didn’t want one of the snacks that i grabbed so i put it away towards the back of the store. when i went up to the register she asked me where it was and i said i wasn’t buying it. then forced me to go to the back and grab the snack that i wasn’t buying and give it to her. almost to like prove i wasn’t stealing? So i went to where i left it and grabbed it and gave it to her and she gave me a nasty look. as if they don’t have 10 cameras already. then there was another guy in the back trying to decide what drink he wanted. she came to the back and yelled at him to close the door. she wouldn’t stop bothering him and he noted it had to do with his race. She was really disrespectful. The other guy that works there is always nice, i don’t know what her problem is.
