“Outside is decievingly rough, there are some older weathered antiques outside but inside there are some very fine and unique pieces amidst apparent replicas and new pieces of furniture and some very attractive non-antique adornments to purchase. Prices were premium as was the quality.”

“Howard is a very nice and helpful man. He has been collecting for over 47 years! Walking into here feels like a time warp, and it's so inviting to see what life was like as much as 100 years ago! Prices aren't cheap, but your paying for an amazing preserved piece of history. I Bought this compass.”

“The antiques here are gorgeous, as is the building and history associated with it. We found it while just driving around, and so happy we did! It's definitely worth taking a look if you're in the area! Make sure to read the plaque out front too!”

“I went to this place on a Friday evening. The store owner, Joanne was super kind and came to the store and opened it for me even though she had to walk her dog. She had beautiful paintings she made all around and pretty cards she painted on as well. Her items were of excellent quality and I got a nice beanie and scarf and handmade soaps from there. Overall, she's wonderful and I'm happy she's one of 9 women owned businesses in the area. I'd recommend this to be a must visit.”

“I had a beautiful experience with Kat. She was incredibly helpful and super kind and inviting. Many stores will rip you off when buying crystals but the crystals here are VERY affordable and they have a great selection. Thanks Kat!”

“Taking a detour off Market Square, I came upon Inn Street, a very narrow one-lane street that has been closed off to form a pedestrian mall with shops. The first one was the Brass Lyon. This shop has a nautical theme which fits well in this coastal city that was once a bustling seaport. Inside, I found a variety of merchandise. On the lower level, I saw T-shirts, sport caps, and jewelry cases as well as compasses. Chelsea clocks and weather instruments hung above the main area. Upstairs, I found a lot of models of sailing ships – yachts and old tall ships. I particularly liked one that was gaff-rigged which is my preferred rigging because it provides more sail area for the same mast height which means less hardware and other benefits. There were a lot of brass items that included door knockers and plaques. One unusual item was called Shark Off. It was a piece of jewelry that was supposed to repel sharks. As with most Newburyport shops, everything here was quality. I rate Brass Lyon at 4.50 and can recommend a visit. “Huge Barn Full of Antiques! It was bustling with activity Sunday. Families shopping together, grandkids asking their grandparents what things are. You really could spend hours just looking at everything, and many do...It's almost a Museum Americana: Figurines, furniture, memorabilia, clothes, art, toys, any antique you could imagine, is here...Service is friendly and kind. When I apologized for not buying more, the man at the door said, "But did you have fun?"Yes yes! Absolutely :)”

“Visiting Amesbury, I found Madeline’s Antiques & Collectibles by happenstance as I was driving up Market Street. Inside, I saw a number of items that I liked. The best thing was a large wall hanging of a music staff. It was too big for my house. It was one of several one-of-a-kind things i saw in the shop. The man in the shop was very pleasant to talk with. He was tending the shop while the owner was away. I rate Madeline’s Antiques & Collectibles at 4.50 and can recommend a visit. “The ladies that run the place are nice, and the selection is always fun. What surprised me was the first time I came in, they knew I wasn't local (at the time) and chatted me up a bit. Next time I came in was 10 months later, and they remembered me!Some random person that came in nearly a year ago and was there for maybe 30 minutes, and they remember me as I walk in. Felt very nice!”

“I won't post the items and treasures because that's yours to explore in person. This place is a museum that you can pick from with a wager. Enjoy if you find yourself in Ipswich.”

“Map placement is close, but not quite. It's to the north of the pin a few hundred feet. Colossal inventory in close quarters. Furniture and other items in pretty good to excellent condition. If you are up for an antiquing adventure, plan to spend time in this place. Bring a flashlight - will help see details. Lighting is fine, but there's a lot of shadows. We got several items we really like.”
