Frustrated with the service. We dropped our XC90 off to get new brake pads at 1pm on Friday and noone called to tell us the car was ready. When we called, they were closed for the weekend. No car for a whole weekend with two kids is tough.

Purchased our first automobile a 2023 Volvo XC90 from Ira Volvo cars south shore. We have previously purchased our last three cars from Herb Chambers in RI and Boston. But we decided to give our "local" team a try. Huge mistake, we were promised at time of purchase as per their website concierge service at time of service with a loaner car. We called and spoke to Courtney Mackay who set us up for Saturday, then they rescheduled us for Wednesday instead at 10. We arrived on time and was greated by an abrupt Deborah Jollicoeur receptionist we were told that they have NO loaner car for us, and they told us we have a spare in our trunk that they would install on our Volvo while they worked on our Wheel. After a two hour wait they put our spare on, they told us to pick up car and drive away . When we approached our Volvo we were shocked to see no full size tire, but a temporary donut style tire. We could not drive it home because we had to drive on a highway. The whole attitude of the service dept is totally opposite of accommodating. During the process of purchase we were clearly feed empty promises of loaner cars and concierge service during visits to service dept, all totally untrue ! Very disappointed, Ira Volvo Group 1 Automotive not even apologetic. Big mistake, stay away. Their solution is we now have to wait 3 more weeks, add on to our 2 weeks we have already waited to get a loaner car. Coutney and Deborah both said they do not have enough loaner cars, and everyone yells at them because of that problem. Headquarters needs to retrain the entire service dept and sales staff here.

Not recommended! We all know Volvo is expensive, especially in service, but spending 1,200$ and having more problems than before is unacceptable. We bring our car for service cause the car indicates two error/warning messages. After first visit they made overall check in which they suggested optional additional work for 3k$ related to the rear part of the car.We didn't agree with it, so they did the standard 60kmiles check and gave us 600$ bill, after the service the car started to do noise to the front part when steering. So we called and need to bring car back for a second service. The guy who gave us back the car (Steve) said that probably could be because the car was lifted during first visit to have the overall check and he gave us a second 600$ bill even if probably problem was created by them.Anyway we paid and the guy told us the car was all set, but if any problem come out to call him back.Well, the day after when we restarted the car we saw the error message that was present till the beginning, we called to see if maybe they forgot to reset something, they told us to bring car back. During the third visit they said that maybe the error can be removed by additional 600$ of work but without certainty.Really disappointed by the service and the lack professionalism of the people at Volvo

UPDATED AFTER REVIEW: two days after my first review, all the links from Volvo site (them) regarding the quotes and the video of the car with the works they advised to be performed, are not working anymore.I am curious, is the website that doesn't work? or did they voluntarily removed all the info?Anyway more and more unprofessional.

I had purchased a new vehicle from ira volvo when purchasing the car there were a few things I wasn't thrilled about but Henry their manager and Olajide their sales man was very responsive and was great at compensating for me and making sure I left a happy client.

Overall a pretty disappointing experience and I'm not a novice at dealing with repair shops both local and dealerships.Bottom line is if you have an older car definitely do not bring it here for repairs. For details read on-Brought a 2001 in with a long list of Minor repairs. The intake went smoothly and friendly. Received a report on the repairs via text which was quite detailed. Got to follow up call from one of the service managers. It was pretty clear to me he hadn't familiarized himself with either the report or the details of what was broken on my car. Also just a personal pet peeve, people who give you general information when you ask them specific questions and give you answers to questions that you haven't yet asked. I got the distinct impression that the gentleman who was helping me was either new or didn't really know what was going on.Decided on one repair due to the fact getting parts would be difficult. Waited two days for the part it did not fix the problem. Was charged $300 and told that they'd given me a break on the hours since it took longer than expected. Was told the dashboard needed to come out for further troubleshooting but they didn't want to do it because the car was old. Picked up the car and it was obvious to me it was done in a hasty manner to "get it out of the shop". Simple thing like daylight running light was burnt out and not repaired even though we discussed that. The manager asked if I'd like them to "throw one in" on my way out the door, but at that point I had had it. After leaving I discovered the radio had not been reinstalled properly so only works intermittently now. Parts removed from trunk for troubleshooting were not replaced in their original location.Called the general manager Boulos and quite frankly my assessment is he was more interested in interjecting and defending what they did then actually either listening to or arriving at some kind of an agreement. Got a lot of condescending platitudes and "We'll take that under advisements", "We appreciate your business", versus what I believe was the realistic conclusion of; we don't care about your old car, you didn't spend enough money here for us to worry about this, pay your $300 and go away, i.e the fast talking salesman routine. Super annoying.I'm sure they don't care, but I won't be back.
