I had the worst experience returning a rental. The manager was very rude and unprofessional. Even one of his staff admitted he was very upset and irritated that day. He overcharged me and decided not to honor my AAA discount even though I booked the rental through AAA site. I reported the incident with the booking company and there has been more complaints regarding that store. Would never choose to pickup another rental in that revere store.

I WAS RETAINED AGAINST MY WILL WHILE UNDER CONTRACT!
I had an incredibly distressing experience at this Hertz location in Revere, MA (40 Lee Burbank Hwy). I had been renting cars for over 12 months straight with Hertz and several times for the past 7 years. I was still under contract for a rental vehicle when I attempted to close the agreement and open a new one, as I had a reservation. However, Hertz tried to charge me an outrageous $66,100.00 for a two-week rental (see screenshot). Naturally, my bank declined the charge. Despite this, the staff refused to either close the contract or let me proceed to another location to resolve the issue.
To make matters worse, they retained the keys to the car, effectively retaining me against my will for nearly two hours. I was forced to call the Revere Police Department because I felt unsafe and needed to secure my personal belongings from the vehicle. According to the rental contract, I should have been allowed to close the agreement with deferred payment for up to 7 days, but this was not honored.
According to the rental agreement with Hertz, the following clause applies: "If you do not pay the full balance of rental charges due on your return of the vehicle (for example, because we cannot process the payment on your credit card) you agree that this constitutes an application by you for credit because the payment of this balance will then be deferred by us for at least 7 days. We will notify you of the amount of credit and when payment is due. You agree that on the due date, we may process the payment of the full amount on your card." At no point was I notified that I could not close the contract due to an unpaid balance, and Hertz’s actions were in direct contradiction to the terms outlined in the contract.
After the police intervention, I was finally allowed to retrieve my belongings, but Hertz refused to honor my new reservation and wrongfully placed me on their "Do Not Rent" list without any prior notification. The entire ordeal caused me significant emotional and physical stress. I had to book a flight which I didn't need, spend 12 hours at an airport to get on the next flight, spend a lot of money for food at airport, etc.
I would strongly advise against renting from this location or company—this is not how customers should be treated. By the mean time, I have sent them a demand letter and if they refuse to comply, I will sue them. DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ. Hertz hurts!!!

BE CAREFUL with this location Jay and his employees will try to rip you off some way or another.
1st Remember to install your own ezpass, if not each time is used they will charge you $10 on top of each transaction.
2nd don’t ever get the insurance they offer, unless you got money to burn.

If we could give 0 stars we would. Rented a long range Tesla and they gave us a short range. Not a huge deal but we paid for a long range. When we asked to be reimbursed they said “not our problem”. They also don’t honor AMEX presidential circle status so beware. Multiple customers had issues far worse than ours and I felt terrible for them!

Employees seem to have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Waited for 45 minutes to be denied a rental (all while the worker was literally smirking and laughing at me). Go elsewhere this place is trash.

This is the worst rental experience I’ve ever had. Please do not rent from here. We rented and paid for a Tesla long range but didn’t realize it was a short range vehicle until the next day. They did not tell us this when we picked up the car. When I asked them to simply decrease the price to reflect the price of a short range vehicle they flat out refused. As for the actual vehicle, it was full of sand, dirt and the driver window didn’t work. They also refused to recognize the gold benefit and didn’t give us a free driver (spouse). I had to get ahold of corporate to convince them to give it to me on the back end. Getting a hold of them was impossible (I tried calling multiple times any they never picked up the phone). Please save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

Every branch I called put me on hold for 10 to 20 minutes. This branch put me on hold till there office closed. Did not even get to ask them a question. And I use Hertz regularly. Worst customer service ever. They do not care about there good customer or long long customers might start using enterprise or avis instead. Can not go to a place were the employees treat you like an animal when you walk in the door

I have had good bad poor and everything in between for customer service. Nothing compares to the treatment from the district manager the other day. Never so disrespected in my life so quickly. 0 stars if I could. The worst car rental experience in my 44 years... thanks DM and counter guys.... you helped no one in 20 minutes... you could not make a single customer in that store happy ... sad.

Worst service ever. I made a reservation and when I checked the day of- it was non existent. I was on hold for 40 minutes in which at that point I had to physically come into the store. Front desk was not helpful whatsoever. Extremely disappointed.

I called more than 10 times for replacing the vehicle, but hardly I spoke with them a couple of times and always said, "Please hold. Every time I'm being held for about more than 20 minutes. Very bad customer service and unprofessional employee. Please don't go there.

Jay was extremely wonderful to work with and helped me a lot with the car. Such a great employee and they had various new cars within the lot. The customer service at this location is top notch!

This is my go-to car rental facility when traveling to Massachusetts for work. The staff is friendly and efficient. They have the newest vehicles and take care of them well.
