My wife and I wanted a corned beef dinner yet the grocery stores did not have any corned beef. So I went to Chartleys and ordered a 4lb corned beef brisket. It was simply the best brisket I ever had. It was perfectly brined, moist a tender. If you do not use Chartleys as your butcher you are not getting quality beef and chicken and I’ll bet you are paying to much for that grocery store poor quality meat and chicken.

Since Augie sold Chartley, it seems the new owners aren't getting the same quality meat as the store was always known for. Not sure I like the new additions - I purchased some bakery things that seemed pricey and the items were all stale. They seem to have expanded the grocery section which is ok if you need something in a hurry, but I've always gone for their meat and the section where Augie always kept the sides has been radically reduced in size so there's not as much choice if you want something cut to order. I guess we'll see...prices are up everywhere but it was worth the extra $$ for the best butchers around...hope to see things improve.

a veritable smorgasbord of a store! you can find everything you need! groceries, large meat section, cleaning supplies, produce, meals, desserts and they even have a sub shop (delish!). the employees are wonderful, very nice, helpful and always happy. the only thing i have to say is how shocking the prices are. hence i can't go there often but will treat myself now and again.

Best selection of steaks anywheres! They are butchers so their meats are excellent!! We go here once a week for NY Serloins and they don't disappoint. They also carry chicken and pork as well as cold cuts!

I asked the butcher if they had a certain cut of meat, he asked,"how much do you want?" I told him it only comes in one piece @ 3-4 lbs. He trims it up, I purchase it and when I get home I find he sold me something else. Extremely deceitful. After a brief call with the manager, I'm told, "well, we have it now if you want to buy it." Needless to say, I won't be returning.
