Huge selection, really nice staff, lots of parking, worth making a trip to over the Boston or Cambridge location. I can spend a lot of time here! They also have a large kids selection.

Well I Love REI so this is kinda a sad review for me. I went I to purchase a bike on Sunday. I asked for help from one of the floor people, and he seemed very irritated that I was asking. After twisting his arm to help me, he answered a few questions but then walked away almost in mid conversation to help someone else. I promptly left the bike I was looking at and went to cycle loft and purchased a new bike. Oh well. Better luck next time I guess.

I ordered a Thule rooftop box online through this store and went to pick it up expecting to have to unbox in parking lot and put in car and install at home. I was wrong, the staff brought out the rooftop box, opened it and removed protective coverings and then placed it on my car for me since I already had crossbars. Only thing they can’t do for liability is turn knobs to tighten it which makes perfect sense. I was thoroughly impressed with the staff and they recycled the cardboard and packing materials as well. Great job and will definitely be back!

I forget the employees name. The name tag said “Just___” Maybe Just Dan? Anyways, my girlfriend is newer to backpacking and this employee went above and beyond to help her get fitted for a new pack. He was the most kind person, super passionate about the outdoors, and I loved talking with him. We chatted about thru hiking, and all. Absolutely phenomenal customer experience. And I’m sorry I forget his name!

Sunil was awesome. Great customer service and helped get my item out to the truck. Well done with going above and beyond. Hope his boss takes note of this review because Sunil made my experience a great one. Small details go a long way. Will defenitely come back once I have more time.

This is my favorite REI in New England. Great selection, including a large inventory of clearance and other discounted items. In particular, footwear had great selection and very patient, knowledgable staff who helped me find my first pair of long-distance backpacking trail runners.

I went to your store today and was appalled to find a parking lot that was apparently plowed where there were no cars - and the rest - that is most of the lot - was covered in ice. It's a death trap. Please talk to whoever owns the lot and ask them to at least sand the lot so nobody hurts themselves. It is the only lot I've been that was in this condition. Every place else I've been was properly plowed and sanded. Nobody even sanded your lot. Please do something before someone is hurt.

Had a great experience at REI in Reading today, as I needed several different items in preparation for an upcoming hike on the AT. What makes REI great at the Reading store is the knowledge and helpfulness of the associates.
