Excellent customer service/care. Always greeted in a friendly manner. Wouldn't bank anyplace else. (I've tried a few, and other banks are lacking, in my opinion)

My dog was injured in an accident. I took him to the emergency vet, where they needed a $1700 deposit for his radiology exam. Since $1700 was, according to Rockland Trust, 'over my daily spending limit', I called customer service and explained my situation, expecting to have the transaction authorized. I gave her my : debit card number, checking account number, DOB, address, phone number, and branch where I opened the account. Having given her all of this info, she had decided that my identity couldn't be verified, because I was unable to state the EXACT amount of an ATM withdrawal 8 days prior. I (again) explained my situation, this time I said "My dog needs medical attention, he's literally laying on the floor waiting for my payment to be approved" Her EXACT response: "GO FIND A BRANCH AND GET IT TAKEN CARE OF THERE"I have sent a formal complaint in writing to Rockland corporate. Also, I have sent detailed letters to the MSPCA and Massachusetts Animal Coalition, just to make certain two prestigious, highly regarded institutions, staffed with a large group of animal lovers, are aware of how Rockland Trust customer service treats a dog with a veterinary emergency. To Rockland Trust, don't bother with your rubber stamp/AI automated "we are sorry..." response to any of my reviews. I REALLY miss the quality of service I received from EBSB. As to the compassionless female who denied me and my dog the assistance we needed... Perhaps 'customer service' isn't for you, and I can only hope nothing like this ever happens to you or anyone you care deeply for.*I will be posting this review on every review forum possible, as well as RE-POSTING it every month, for the next 5 years**I ORIGINALLY POSTED THIS REVIEW 5/10/23. I RECEIVED THR RUBBER STAMP "PLEASE PROVIDE CONTACT INFO SO WE CAN REACH OUT" CLEARLY THAT WAS ONLY POSTED TO GIVE THE REVIEW READERS A FALSE IMPRESSION THAT THEY PLANNED TO CONTACT ME. WHAT A JOKE THIS BANK IS. I'LL CONTINUE TO UPDATE THIS REVIEW, MONTHLY, FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS (OR UNTIL ROCKLAND TRUST GOES UNDER....I'M GUESSING THE LADDER)

I got fired as a customer effective August 57th, 2023 because I conducted business with a personal account by having paychecks deposited in my account. I also got a ranting incoherent phone call regarding basically the same thing from Norwell branch manager, John Snow who attempted to intimidate me and also abused his access to my account by questioning individual deposits and asking who the people endorsing the checks were. When that failed to accomplish the desired result I was sent a more coherent letter he must have gotten some help with. When my account closes on August 57th I can't say I will much care.

Horrible. Run away. They will not let us transfer our money out of our Rockland account. They claim they stopped this 2 weeks ago. Now, we have to mail them a notarized letter requesting our money. Do not deal with this bank. They had no problem taking our money without a notarized letter. We are just transferring the money BACK INTO the same account we transferred TO Rockland.Red Flag.

From the start it's always a problem, the machine is always broken, and the coin machine is never working. I went to tell them I will be out of the country for a week, and they said I will be all set. I have been gone for a week I have no access to my money every time I call they leave me on hold, so now I am sitting in a country with no access to my money. Not a good look at all

I needed a service. I was told to have a seat to wait for the manager. The clerk never notified the manager. The manager had a customer were talked and laughed for the whole time. Then the manager acknowledged that I was waiting. After another 5 minutes passed I was then told that there are 4 people ahead of me. If each transaction takes well over 10 minutes, and it’s just to build rapport with customers- other people suffer. There is not quality concern for customers, no time urgency , There is no transparent communication. Wasted a whole hour lunch break waiting for someone who has no interest in helping any other customer, just having casual conversations with customers.

Them asking me to message is more if a waste of time. In addition, after they stated the siliiness in the last communication I withdrew the application, however today in the mail i received a decline notice stating I had an illegal space in my home which is simply not true. I have documentation from my town building department that directly dismisses their underwriters guess. Again DON'T do it, especially with the idiot underwritering team they employ.

I recently moved from Vermont, where I was a TD customer for years, to Massachusetts. Based on Google's top 5 banks in MA, I decided to open an account at Rockland Trust Bank.As an international student with my major income source being international wire transfers, I made sure to confirm with the manager during account opening that there wouldn't be any holds on such transfers. They assured me there would be no issues and provided handwritten wire instruction.Unfortunately, what followed was nothing short of a nightmare:1. Lack of Communication: The bank never reached out to inform me when my money was held. I made numerous calls to customer service only to hear that the transfer was still being verified, with no specific reason provided for the delay.2. Unprofessionalism: They requested me to bring in documents regarding the sender’s information and the purpose of the money - all information that I had already provided over the phone. Despite bringing all potential documents to my local branch, I found out two weeks later (only after calling them) that my money had been returned. No email, no written confirmation, no proactive communication.3. Broken Promises: After opening the account, the manager promised to call me the next day to guide me on how to access the mobile app. The call never came, and I had to learn it from customer service myself. In the process of inquiring why my money was held, they promised multiple times to call me the next day, but only once did they follow through.Based on my personal experience, with my money being held by the Rockland Trust Bank for a month and the service being so poor, I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone. Especially in this challenging economic times, when any small bank could potentially fail. ?

They misspelled my email so I was not able to sign into my account. I had to contact customer service. They forgot to order my debit card. I had to contact customer service again. I setup inter-bank transfers with an online only bank. Customer service called me to confirm the amount of transfer while I was in an important meeting. Get with the times people! I shouldn't have to contact customer service for every little detail I need to use my account for.

Mobile app on Android not downloadable. Can't make a mobile deposit now for 2 months. I've been with Rockland Trust for 35 years. I'm a web designer so I know technology. I used to be able to do mobile deposits. For the last month or more, I have not been able to find or download the mobile app. I went to the website and didn't work either. Went to a branch and they couldn't do it. A month later I tried again but same problem. Maybe the takeover of another bank has stressed out the software team.

Rockland Trust told us we did not have any accounts with them but they had locked us out. Several times they have prevented us access to our funds. And I caught them lying to us regarding the amount of money we could xfer in a day. East Boston Savings Bank was great. Rockland Trust ruined it I'm actually filing a complaint with the banking commission

My mother passed away and I was the ITF on 2 CD accounts that she left I waited for 30 days to retrieve and they told me that I wasn't on the account I went to two branches and still denied me saying that it needed to go to probate which it wasn't true. I went to a different branch to get this resolved.and finally got my money. My advice is some of these managers are not doing their fiduciary responsibility's or their due diligence.
