Nickerson is a quite, out-of-the-way, beach that is never crowded. The rocky shore offers beautiful views of the harbor and downtown Boston. Good for fishing, Great for photography, not so good for swimming though. They say you at low tide you can walk the spit to Thompson Island. But I have never tried, nor do I recommend it. The tide come in fast. And yes people have been stranded on Thompson Island in the past.

Beautiful views with coastal trails to hike. If you catch it at low tide you can go across to Thompsons Island ?

Nice little "beach" with great views. Good place to bring the pups for a walk and a dip. Interesting place to explore. Best to go at low tide so you can walk over to the other island. Great place to see across the Harbor and see the financial district.

It was one of those hidden gems. There were very few people there that day. It's not a sandy beach so that probably deters a lot of people. There isn't a large parking lot and what there is is shared with a social club and a small school. But loved it. When I want to chill out I go to the beach and I can't relax if there are herds of people around. And this place was perfect.

Nice place to bring some food or a grill and brews and have a day of relaxation, seems like not too many people know about this beach so it never really gets that crowded... maybe i shouldn't post this to keep its secrecy
