We stayed in room 17 for three nights. That is a quite spot. The room was clean. There is a large , well equipped kitchen down stairs where you can prepare your meals. This is a great , cheaper alternative as to where to stay when you want to explore the greater Boston area. They have off street parking and the managers communicate well.

For an accommodation of this type, this place was great. Quiet with ample parking, very clean rooms with all furniture in working condition. Shared bathrooms were clean and had everything we needed. We needed a room just to sleep—not to hang out, and it was just right. The place is affordable, simple and not that far from Boston. Lori welcomed us warmly and showed us the basics. The place is dated but everything works and is clean.

I had a great experience here. I had only planned on staying for a short time but ended up staying for a little over a year. It’s a great location, close to public transportation, grocery stores, bars and restaurants. Lori and Kevin always greeted me with a smile and treated me with nothing but kindness and respect for the entirety of my stay. The property was well maintained. They also have a maid who takes out your trash, vacuums the rooms and cleans the bathrooms weekly. Any time I had a question or concern, Kevin was quick to get back to me. (I accidentally broke a handle off my dresser drawer and it was replaced by Kevin the same day!) If you have a few minutes to stop and talk to the other tenants, you’ll find that they have a nice little community over there. Overall, it’s a nice place with nice people and a good homely atmosphere.

I didn't have a good experience here. The owners decided to stop communicating completely, and when I tried to call them, they blocked my number! I am also unsure as to where $200 worth of hypoallergenic clothes went. A bit immature to dispose of someone's things and then block communication with them. I will possibly update my review if I receive communication.

Place costs waaaaaay to much. They are crazy. Charge $250.00 wk for a room. Then want another $25.00 a week for A/C in the summer. The A/C charge would be kinda o.k except they want it shut off if you leave even for like 1 hour. And that's for a small room, Shared bathroom and kitchen.

The lady who answered my phone call was very rude when she had heard my voice. I had asked her what their weekly rates were as well as other information however before I could get anything else out She instantly started to converse about the background check and credit check. Once I explain to her it will not be a problem she stated "Once people start talking about money it is a red flag." I had told her I am from another state and I'm insuring that I have adequate information. Her demeanor was so uninviting! She did answer one of my questions. That question was do I pay a fee for the credit and background check? Her answer came after a bunch of comments about people trying to skip over the background check and the credit check. I had to end the phone call. Ps. You do pay the fee for the background check.

Brookside House is an absolute treasure. Love it here.Brookside House is a two-building setup, a family-owned, mom-and-pop style guesthouse that provides two modes of service: One building which functions as a hotel that can easily hold it's own with corporation hotel, and a long-term housing building located next door, which is a cozy, and warm setup, with a multitude of different sized rooms. I've been in both.First things first, the staff here are great, and very kind. They go out of their way to take care of their customers immediately, with a quick tour of their grounds - very easy to speak to, very easy to get along with, easily the best and most accommodating staff out of any housing/lodging place I've ever met. If I were to rate them on their staff alone, I'd give them 6 out of 5 stars.FURNITURE:All rooms are adequately furnished, to include the longer-term, more economic building of 66 Bigelow. Rooms come with a bed with linen, a nightstand with a lamp, a side table, a dresser, an office chair, and a desk. It's large enough for me to put a full-fledged computer set up including a second monitor on. Also, a mirror.INTERNET:The only reason that I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars, is because of the speeds of the internet - while there's a GREAT deal of coverage, and more than enough access points placed throughout both buildings here to offer substantial, 100% WiFi coverage of both buildings, the speeds tend to run rather slow. It really depends on which access point you're connected to. It seems like there's a greater concentration of users on one of the access points, as opposed to the other. Morning, and afternoon, when people are out and about, the speeds are generally acceptable. Evening time, however, the speeds tend to get substantially slower, depending again on which access point you're hooked up to. Not a huge issue, but for myself, my career is partially, primarily based around tech, which requires a great deal of internet usage, so it tends to get a little annoying.6 PM Speed test of their "Home6787" access point, is 30mbps Download, 4mbps upload.6 PM Speed test of their "Brookside House" access point, however, is a dismal 0.33mbps Download, 0.20mbps upload. So there do seem to be some strange oddities when it comes to the internet situation here, but again, it's not really too big of a deal, and they have 4 total access points situated across two buildings.WATER:The water here is good enough to drink from the tap. Which is a rarity in the Boston area, sometimes.Water heat has never been an issue here. There's always hot water, when needed.Water pressure is high here, so there's no issue with that.LAUNDRY:Laundry is located in the basement of their main building, which will run you $4 for a wash, $2.00 for a dry, and they both work amazingly. Probably the best provided laundry situation I've ever had out of anywhere I've lived. The Washing machine takes exactly 25 minutes to wash a full load effectively, and the dryer takes exactly 60 minutes to dry a full load, and it only takes one dry. I tested this with a full load of laundry with a large bath towel included. They even provide free laundry detergent, XTRA brand, so that's a big plus. They sell $10 rolls of quarters at their office.TRASH:They provide a wastebasket and the bags, and an on-site dumpster. They could probably use a slightly larger dumpster, however. Large personal items, if you must throw them out, come with an added fee.I rent at their 66 Bigelow building, for a long-term stay. The rooms vary in size here, and mine is just big enough for exactly what I need it for. Bathrooms are shared. Never had an issue getting into the bathroom to get ready for the day. With everything included, including Trash/Sewer/Electricity/Heat (Steam radiator, works great!),Internet, and a weekly cleaning service, my monthly price tag of $900ish ($500 Deposit) in rent that I pay on a weekly basis is honestly perfect. It's located in an awesome area, close to anyth

Terrible place run by Bad Managers, run don't walk away. Sleep in your car or buy a tent at walmart. Some Hotel no Towles you share a bathroom with the next door room TV 1 channel no fridge or microwave or iron in Hotel room. Hotel guests are treated as if they live in the rooming house. The manager has a room full of cats which I as a guest I am Alergic to cats and I was told no pets.
