"The playground equipment is old and bears the scars of ruthless vandals. Most of the structure is cracked and broken. Two of the five slides always play host to stagnant puddles. Weeds grow amidst glass where once children played. The children! Won't somebody think of the children!"Edit: the playground has been completely renovated and the park is looking great

Like other Quincy parks that I visited somewhat recently, Bishop Field is in much better shape than I remember it being when I was a kid. Most of the space belongs to a large baseball field that has a makeshift but nevertheless functional dugout and seating area. There are also basketball and tennis courts on the northern end that are in tip-top shape. Similarly, the playground on the southern side was clean and in visibly good condition. Even though I stopped by somewhat recently* when the weather had already gotten cold, the grounds were trash-free and had obviously been groomed in the warmer months. Then, as now, this field and playground is the heart of Montclair, if the sounds of kids using the premises on a nice day are any indication. *in compliance with MA and CA travel guidance at the time
