Found this shop as we were walking down the street and I am glad we stopped! I bought a beautiful one-of-a-kind necklace as a gift. I'm happy that I can order from the web site because now I need to get a similar one for myself! ? The owner was so pleasant to chat with as we looked around. I highly recommend stopping in or check out the web site.

Every year I vacation in Provincetown and love shopping while there. This was the first time that I ventured on down commercial street more off the beaten path from most of the businesses. We entered Arcadia and began to browse. The shop keeper did not acknowledged us and sat glued to his laptop with a stern look on his face. We attempted to say a pleasantry to him and was met with coldness, rudeness, and he was all around aloof. The vibe I got was odd and unpleasant so we left as quick as we could. After reading MANY reviews I see that I am not the only one that feels this way. NEVER again would I step foot into that shop. I'll spend lots of money at all the other wonderful businesses.

Excellent selection of gifts for all ages. 2/3s of all my Christmas 2022 gifts ended up being from Arcadia. Owner is knowledgeable and pleasant, and makes good suggestions. Items are of high quality and with social mindfulness (fair trade, recycled, long lasting, etc). The unicorn we got there was very well received, as were the hats, kitchen apron, penguin sewing kit… and some other items which I forget. I can’t wait to go back.

My experience as a ptown local , I love to support small businesses but please don't go to that store to support The person that works there or the owner , he is the ugliest , nasty , rude , horrible person ever , reading all the comments and experiences of other people I can say is all true , why would you want to support a business with people like that , that only brings the worst and doesn't bring any good to human society or this magical town. IF YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON AND HUMAN BEING , DONT WASTE YOUR TIME , MONEY AND ENERGY , IN THAT STORE/ PERSON. IS ALL ABOUT THE LOVERS NO THE HATERS......

I always love visiting Ptown. Recently I discovered this special, small shop filled with unique, handmade, free trade items that you won't find elsewhere. Jay, the owner, is very helpful and has chosen items for the shop carefully. He can tell you everything about what you choose to buy which I appreciate. Once home, I've ordered several items online for gifts. The items received are always beyond expectation and, believe it or not, received in a day or two.

Jay at Arcadia likes to gawk, harass, and yell at visitors. I strongly recommend avoiding this place. Should you be looking for an artsy, locally-owned store to shop at, you’re in luck because every block in Provincetown has a dozen of them. Arcadia, by any measure, isn’t unique.I always make a conserted effort to patronize locally owned businesses — despite their generally higher prices and a sometimes lack of online presence — especially those that support the local arts community. This commitment doesn’t change during my frequent travels to Provincetown. So, you could imagine my disappointment when I was blindsided with the most vile, disrespectful attitude when walking into Jay’s business on Sunday. It was with a thick, un-ironic sass that we were immediately ordered to leave our iced coffee on the floor next to the door. A request of the sort is never a burden because it is a common one for walkable towns, especially in smaller/tighter store layouts in which there’s a high probability of a spill on merchandise. However, the request’s accompanying attitude was completely uncalled for.Accompanying our entry, and barked orders, was no greeting — not a welcome, good morning, or “How are you?” — which contributed to a tone in which we clearly weren’t welcomed by Jay at Arcadia. While we walked around Arcadia, Jay proceeded to aggressively stare at us (all without blinking, which I suppose is impressive in its own right). Having visited before to see my friends’ art on display, I had inquired about the upstairs gallery; “Is there any art on display upstairs today?” I wanted to ask before inviting myself upstairs, which wasn’t at all an unreasonable request considering the insurmountable store clutter immediately blocking the stairs and other parts of Arcadia (in other words, common sense indicated the upstairs could be closed to visitors). I was astonished by Jay’s reply, which was a long-winded, grotesquely condescending rant about how the upstairs “always” has art on display and is “always” open — was I in third grade again, being lectured about the use of the bathroom pass by my recently divorced teacher? In his rant, he did everything short of explicitly calling me stupid. I’ve never, ever been treated worse in Provincetown.Somehow, the uncanny tone was feeling as if the roles were switched; myself as a friendly retail worker in the hot seat with a nasty customer (Jay), which unfairly led me to feel as if his inexcusable demeanor was my fault, and that it was my job to defuse the situation. Perhaps he was frustrated by the influx of tourists from a cruise ship in port for the day (of which I wasn’t a part of). Or, he was upset that the many people who walk through town do tend to window shop. Either way, his hostile personality is unacceptable for someone who chose, on their own free will, to run a business in a town whose economy predominantly relies on tourist dollars.Imagine what it takes for one’s self esteem to stoop so low as to yell at a kind visitor. I suppose it doesn’t take much mental horsepower, or class, to sit down at an unremarkable shop and gawk, harass, and yell at strangers. I would advise Jay to choose another line of business, because clearly he’s miserable and doesn’t deserve to run a shop in Provincetown.

My absolute favorite Ptown shop! Unique items you won't find anywhere else. Jewelry, home, glass, cutlery, homemade brooms, too much to list. Best is the owner. Every item is chosen by him for a reason and anything you pick up, he will tell you the story of where it came from, if it is benefiting anyone, and artist info. Just listening to him is a joy. Go and you will find a treasure, like I did with my hat!

Such a fun store. Epitomizes what I love about Ptown - quaint, unique. It's a little bit off the beaten path down Commercial Street in the West End. But worth the trip. I fell in love with the little stuffed toys and puppets and bought a bunch as gifts. But I'll need to check out the website since I could only carry so much since I was traveling.
