Hours on website don't match store for grooming services nor are they posted anywhere visible in the store. I get being short staffed and having limited hours but it's also not hard to update a website. That falls on the store manager to make sure things are up to date. The rude sales associate didn't help either.

OMG! The salt water tanks are atrocious. You name it, they got it. Red slime algae, green hair algae, dirty tanks, etc. Yet they still charge full price for the fish. I was told there is no refund or exchange on any salt water fish or coral. I won't be going back there again!

Really mean staff played me for a fool. The cashier offered a bag. and I said "yes please", and then she just gave me an evil grin and said "thank you have a nice day". I did not deserve to be pranked especially after spending 100.00 dollars. Never going in there again.

Never coming to petco again. Cashier, she had curly hair in a ponytail with a headband and glasses, I think she was the manager, was extremely rude. I used to always come to petco and have good experiences. I came to her with a concern and treated me like an idiot. So I apologized because 'how dare I come to her with a concern about a LIVE ANIMAL THATS IN HER STORE'. So I got my item, brought it up to the desk, and paid, she asked for my phone number, I declined, and paid. When I left she asked if I wanted my receipt, I said no, and she yells "YOU DO KNOW NO RECEIPT NO RETURNS RIGHT?!" I'm not stupid I'm not going to return this?? She needs a retraining. Never treat your customers like they are stupid.

Horrible service from general manager John. Lost 240$ in fish due to false information twice now. I call and he tells me I can buy all the fish I lost at his store location and he will give me 20 percent off but the store has no salt water fish on hand due to an algae problem I’m a rewards pet member and was treated like a regular smegular when I spend money there. So if you have salt water fish don’t be surprised if your tank gets ruined

I purchased a beta fish in great Barrington and it died overnight. The fish was $23. I called great Barrington store and nobody answered so I called Pittsfield store. I explained to the girl that I had pictures and a receipt but not the fish. I asked if I could go in and get another. She said the manager said I could. When I got there the manager said very loudly that isn't our policy and people got fired for doing that. Then she turned to the workers and asked if one of them took the call. Of course hearing they could get fired, they denied it. I will never shop there again

Caitlin in the fish department is an absolute gem and incredibly helpful! They knew everything we needed about starting a new tank and gave plenty of helpful advice! If you need anything for your aquatic pet or need help starting out go ask Caitlin!!!

Petco truly does not care about their animal practices and only care about the money they get from each sale. The in store setups on bettas and ferrets and a bunch of other animals are completely wrong and are inhumane. Pet Supplies Plus at least puts bettas in bigger containers, and the ferrets are in a 3-tier cage. They even have water bowls, not bottles. This petco is a corporate throw away with a horrible store that does not care for the animals or his employees. I've seen him talk disrespectfully to his employees, and his handling and care of animals is awful.
