“Definitely a five star review!!!! Last night the latching mechanism on our exterior French doors broke. This morning I called Kurt at Dettinger's, thinking I could ask for a model number so I could order replacement parts online. Boy, was I wrong! He had me take a few quick measurements and text him some pics and within minutes, he called me back saying they had the part in stock. He even made sure I was comfortable with the replacement process (I had watched a video) and when I went to pick it up, they included an extra piece that they recommend replacing at the same time that wasn't included - at no charge!!! Shop local people - Customer service like this doesn't come in a (big) box!”
“I went to John’s Building Supply for materials for my slate patio I was relaying by myself. I am a complete novice and they were so patient, friendly, and helpful on walking me through the proper steps to ensure the job would be done correctly and last us. Every single employee I encountered (and I was in and out of the store multiple times gathering supplies and advice) was kind and courteous. Such a good and honest vibe there. Will definitely continue to only use John Building Supply for all my masonry, etc needs! You guys rock! (Pun intended)”
“I was blown away by the "above and beyond the call of duty" customer service I received when I visited HZ Electric Supply with my broken lamp the other day! Within seconds, I had the part I needed - including the little plastic twisty caps!(I'm not an electrician!)This experience was a very pleasant reminder that the big box store is not the only resource in town! “Posting this as my DIY project failed. The absolute best part of this project, my day and this week was going into harbor freight in pittsfield. Both employees were great and so helpful! But im not spiraling on my failed DIY because i met the most personable and funny woman there tonight. Not only that, i realized after I left, that she's GOLDEN in sales.
