My cat Gary was very sick. I called, and they got him in the very next morning. Every staff member I dealt with was wonderful. My Gary had to stay overnight he got great care and is doing much better.
Thank you for such a wonderful job well done.

Refused to euthanize our dying 17yr old cat because she hasn't been there in 3 years. Would give negative review if possible

This place doesn’t care a bit about animals! We adopted our daughter’s cat on January 24th of this year. I unfortunately know that date by heart because that’s the day she passed away suddenly. I say this because we couldn’t find where she brought our Gizmo except that Berkshire Humane Society for Neudering. So I feel like our Gizmo is very sick. So much so that I’m going to lose my job because I can’t leave him. But thanks to Berkshire Vet all I can do is hold him and hope that he’ll be ok until another vet opens at 8am. It’s a disgrace that people that work at a veterinary hospital don’t have any empathy and will just let an animal die because our daughter who again passed away wasn’t a client. We would have been overjoyed to become one ,but apparently that’s not good enough to save an animal’s life in their eyes.

My family has been bringing our pets to Berkshire Vet for the last 7 years and we've always liked the professionalism and care that we experience there.
We've brought new kittens/puppies there for first visits and shots. We've also brought animals there at the end of their lives for care. Each pet has been treated with compassion and love.
Their reminder cards for vaccine updates are appreciated and the speed with which we can set up appointments has been very convenient.

Won't euthanize a cat with cancer. None of the local vets will take on new clients but i thought that with this, they would give in. I called and they said, if we absolutely have to but we recommend you go to your regular vet. My regular vet is 50 minutes away because no one will take on new clients here, I had to travel! All of this should be illegal. The same way a hospital cannot refuse a sick person, a vet should not be able to refuse a sick cat!

Berkshire vets is a godsend I found them years ago when I had an emergency and I moved all my animals there and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. They do overnight we do surgery they do emergencies they have been great for us

I just got fired as a client. They said I was rude. You bet. When you charge me 127.29 for clavamo. It is augmentin. Had she given me a script, it would have been 18.00. I specifically asked if there was human equivalent. I have a witness to the conversation. Response I am a vet. If you don't know what augmentin is, should you be a vet? Dr. Wolhfhrt is the only vet I can't stand. She lied. My dog was sick. I would have eaten it. Perhaps it is the way she tossed my hand aside when I put down a beloved pet. I spent 941.29 and got nailed for exta 100.00. Be prepared to lose your savings. They ask about money before what is wrong with your pet. Brace yourself it will hurt. Ps. My dog had a reaction and had to pay another 100 plus. They wanted to charge me for an emergency visit, too. I hadn't planned on going back.

Response to vet: yes I do have the correct vet. Despite being the one that would schedule/pay for both my dog’s appointments when you were our vet. Because I gave my boyfriend’s information once everything is under his name despite asking for it to be corrected multiple times.Writing a negative review for a vet is never any easy thing do as this is an incredibly difficult line of work and here in the Berkshires we have limited vets. However, after multiple negative experiences here the last straw was them suggesting we put our 5 year old dog down when they were experiencing IVDD because it would be expensive. When the chance of a full recovery was 90% with surgery. They didn’t even want to help us find a facility that could treat our dog. Thankfully after calling around other vets helped us find a place that was able to treat our dog, who is already walking again.

When Dr. Michael King was at Berkshire Vet, I felt safe bringing both of my dogs there. He was kind , compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable. When Dr. King retired, I then began seeing Dr. Makuc who proved to be very knowledgeable, also. Then COVID hit, and I was forced to accept whatever vet was available for an appointment. Enter Doctors Wolfhart and Hussy into my pup Lochan’s life. Neither one seemed to have a clue. When Lochan became seriously ill, Dr. Hussy took weeks and several office visits attempting to diagnose her. Unfortunately for my pup, I was stupid enough to trust this poor excuse for a vet. She finally admitted to having no clue as to what was wrong with Lochan and referred us to Upstate Veterinary Specialties. Alas it was too late even though Dr. Scott of UVS tried mightily to save her, phoning me twice daily to update me on her progress. I visited every day and was heartened by the support for both my pup and me shown by the staff. When Lochan was euthanized, they allowed me to spend hours sitting with her in a room with a sofa and other amenities before I signaled for the vet to come in. After Lochan passed, I remained with her there for another two hours. In short, they allowed me to stay there and grieve for as long as I needed. No rush… just kindness.Since UVS is not a facility for ongoing care, I had to find another vet for my current puppy Jackie. Based on a friend’s recommendation, I brought Jack to Greylock Animal Hospital in North Adams. It’s a trek from where we live—but definitely worth it.Bottom line here: Stay away from Berkshire Vet. In emergencies, go to Upstate Veterinary Specialties. For ongoing care, go to Greylock Animal Hospital.

We’re having a very successful experience with them and they’re taking great care of our little boy Brutus, who has ear and joint issues?.If he needs his meds even on a Sunday, someone is there to take care of it!!!!
