New review today is April 4, 2024: but one event: was on
12/13/23: I drove my Toyota on highway, noticed battery light on dashboard. Was @ nearby town, parked my car. Decided to phone Spofford's ask get this checked. Told Shannon, I'll come 20 min. Shannon efficiently got me apptm't.-okayed. I completed errand; I returned same highway north, drove to Peabody, signal (dashbrd) still on. Approx.12 miles, I exited to Lowell St.,Peab. but, during one more mile, I panicked. As I drove, steering wheel froze;.barely I could pull, hard, to turn a corner. Fortunately, I turned into Birney St., Spoffords. Emergency this was to me. Used cell: phoned Shannon, said, "I'm across road a bit, parked, car- too hard to steer, it stalled". She reassured me..mechanic Cristos will be there ASAP. 2 minutes: He came out, carried battery charger+ tool. He immed. corrected part of problem, able to move Toyota across to shop/bay. I waited, not long. Follow his work on car, he told me "I'll need repair w/ new alternator. It's not battery problem." It was after 4:00p, I'd need leave car overnight to next day-when he'd do repairs. How kind of owner, John (& his big dog in truck) to drive me home -weather very cold, as I almost walked home. Next day: 12/14/23, I rec'd. notice (my cell ph.) 11:00 A.M, my car ready 'for pick up'. He did thorough job, replaced alternator, plus serpentine belt. With Labor//parts expenses-add Sales Tax: It was okay total which I paid picking up my Toyota. I was extremely happy w/ excellent quality service. Shannon was great in calming me--as I couldn't steer vehicle; made it there! Whew! HIghly recommend take cars/trucks to spoffords when needed.
Now, I have story: 01/16/24: Outside, snow/sleet. I was in my condo's garage. I poked too hard (plastic scraper) -icey low part: front windshield- one wiper completely broke. I phoned, got app'tmt w/ Spoffords same day. They had to order new set (2) windshield wiper blades-and installed these, while I waited. It's warm/friendly..chatting off/on w/ Receptionist, Shannon- who's knowledge: excellent on makes/models of variety of vehicles, etc. Invoice for 2 wiper blades: very reasonable.
# 2 Story: on 3/11/24: My car's dash.'Traction control light, and Check engine light'..I phoned, able to go Spoffords. Christos 1st showed me old fuel tank cap-wasn't placed on where gasoline is poured-it was stored other side ? Cap dangle wire..broken too. Shannon was request to order a new one. Minutes later, this part arrived. He quickly repaired. Invoice listed work description + "Advisory notes": "Re: purge valve code was present, if it returns, then the purge valve will need replacement" Worker: Quick & honest~ALL SET! I paid a reasonable, low bill.

I got my radiator replaced here, once they could get me in the repair was fast and the price was extremely fair. Highly recommend spofford for anyone looking for auto repair.

Best car mechanic I’ve been to. Great people up there! I was shocked when I got a phone call to say my car was done SAME DAY! I came here because my regular mechanic was backed up but I will no longer be going there! 100% recommend this place.

Was told they had dealer level technicians and all the bells and whistles and my experience was flawless. Line of communication was open and Shannon called me after the diagnosis and discussed the solution before moving forward and they ended up fixing my truck by days end before schedule. 10 out of 10 for sure. Awesome crew! Had a very difficult issue that 2 mechanics and a dealer could not figure out. John and his team figured it out in a timely manner and way under budget of what it could/should have been. They are honest and would definitely bring my vehicles back again!

I brought my Subaru here almost 2 years ago. They are very honest and John is a great mechanic. I would highly recommend them. To bad I live out of State I would get all my service done by them.
