Tried this place for the first time and was disgusted by how filthy this establishment was. Outside of cases were clearly very seldom cleaned. Customer service was nonexistent, wasn’t acknowledged until I was leaving without buying anything. Will never be back

USED to be the BEST - - - - now - - many people getting to find their meats are SPOILED - - - no longer a GREEK grocery store - - many Greek items no longer available - - - store stinks

I haven’t been here in quite some time but I wanted to make a special steak dinner and decided to come by. I spent a good amount on the steaks and ingredients. Unfortunately the happy feeling I had plating dinner for my family vanished! 4 out the 5 of us was in shock once we ate the steak it was spoiled. While seasoning the meat it had no smell some discoloration but it didn’t look bad the taste was awful just plain spoiled old meat taste! Do better! I was the last to eat and I was the only person not sick or on the John from the meat!

I have been going to this store my entire life (I think...my YaiYai used to go there and she passed in 1992)...I'm 46. Last time I frequented I knew something was different, couldn't say what, and so I asked the cashier. The response was disappointing... "Nothing."I believe there are new owners?? If anyone reads this and knows, I'd really love an update. I wish I knew some other place to purchase Bulgarian Feta. The associates in the store, definitely not speaking Greek, were not honest so how can I trust them!? So sad ?.

They are very attentive, always on hand. The butcher is always helping and always does as we wish. Never had a problem! I always praised hygiene.

We have enjoyed their meats for over 20 and have traveled from wherever we have in New England, including ME, NH and now CT as well as right there in Peabody, to purchase their meat boxes. They have never disappointed us.

I went there on Christmas Day.The roast I had bought at a different store had gone bad.After searching around I was very pleased to see that New England meat market was open I had been there many times in the past. I called to make sure they were in fact open on Christmas. I drove there and could see that the butchers weren't there or open.In the case was the exact same roast that I needed to replace. I spoke with the cashier and was told there is nothing he could do. I tried to plead with him to sell me the roast the was already priced and packaged ready to go and explained to him that mine was no good and this would save my family's Christmas.His response was that he was not going to help me or even try.His attitude was that he couldn't care less so i understand it is hard to find good help but sometimes just having someone there isn't enough I will not be going there in the future as I had in the past because they had a chance to help someone out but made the clear choice not to.ThanksDan t

this establishment is the most disgusting place i’ve ever worked at. dirt, grime, hair, blood was all over the store and bathroom, i worked there and got 0 breaks during 10 hour shifts and developed a UTI from not being able to use the bathroom for long hours and the meat is rotten. the manager there is rude and yelled at me in front of customers, i also got yelled at for refunds i gave to customers that have complained to me about rotten meat that they have purchased. this place should NOT be open at all and has gone completely downhill ever since it has been sold. the embarrassment and abuse i endured while working there is enough for me to call OSHA and file a complaint but i think giving a public review will help people not waste their time and money at this horrible store.

If you like Chinese sausages, you must try their Ah-so sausage. It’s yummy, garlicky, and sweet. Great on the grill too.I tried it for the first time last week, and it was delicious and authentic (except for the length… but who cares) Now this becomes the spot for me to buy Chinese sausages.

This is the only local market that have found that sells Greek products. #2 pasticcio noodles, halloumi, mahlep, etc. They have a large selection of meats, also. When I first started shopping there, it was an amazing market, then went through a dirty phase. I was pleasantly surprised when I went there on a whim today, and I will be going back.

Love this place for the meat selection, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish wines, and all the specialty food products, but the recent addition of Krispy Krunchy Chicken is the real winner here. I enjoyed their Cajun Fried Chicken a days ago and was extremely happy. I went in later in the evening and the super friendly gal Crystal behind the counter offered to make a fresh batch of strips for me. Didnt realize she was going to batter/fry new chicken breast peices right then! They came out piping hot, not very greasy, and with a nice balanced spice in the batter. I love the "Original Sause" they came with. They were still very hot when I got them back home to Salem to eat! We will be back!
