I was referred to Leonard Automotive by a friend. I have recently relocated to the area. Previously, I had only had service at the dealership where the vehicle was purchased.
Matt explained what he thought might be going on and gave a reasonable timeframe for an assessment.
Within a few hours of having looked at the vehicle, he was able to clearly explain what next steps needed to be taken. In addition to that, he was also willing to look at an estimate that someone else I know had received, which seemed excessive.
I am so impressed with the straightforward interactions I have had. I'm sure everyone has had a negative experience with car repairs. This is not one of those places. Matt is knowledgeable, patient, honest and reasonably priced. I highly recommend.

Last Saturday, my car’s lug nuts broke, so I had my car towed to this repair shop. They told me that the repair would take until Tuesday or Wednesday. However, I am a student and make a living by doing delivery work, so it’s impossible for me to continue working without my car. Waiting that long was a huge problem for me. On top of that, I was faced with an estimated repair cost that could go up to $600-800-1,000 (maybe even more). These numbers honestly shocked me.
I quickly found a mobile repair service and met them at the car on Sunday. They discovered that only the lug nuts were broken, and the total repair cost, including parts, was just $180. Since I couldn’t afford to lose any more time, I immediately agreed.
However, when we informed the shop about this, they were not understanding at all. Worse yet, when I went to pick up my car on Monday, they charged me $120 just for two days of storage! I had to pay this high fee simply because my car was sitting there for two days. Despite knowing that I’m a student with limited financial means, they didn’t hesitate to take the money.
They originally quoted me an estimated repair cost of $600-800-1,000, but I ended up solving the issue with the mobile service for only $190, saving over $600! If you’re considering having your car repaired here, think not twice, but four times. Instead of trusting them, seek out people who offer realistic and affordable solutions.

Great shop and an awesome guy. I had some truck trouble and was in town on vacation. He was kind enough to help me out that same day and totally saved the entire trip.

I had a used car I was considering and brought it here to get checked over, and I am so thankful I did. They saved me from considering an absolute wreck of a car. As soon as they looked it over, they warned me to stay far away from it.
I had a great experience with them. I had looked over yelp reviews for a mechanic that seemed trustworthy and fair, and that was certainly my experience. I really appreciated getting told the situation straight up and being warned off of basically being swindled. Wonderfully friendly and helpful. They got me in fast. And the price to get the car checked out was fair. I would highly recommend going there.

Leonard saved my vacation. My car started making a clanking noise and Leonard took us right away. He Tightened my sway bar links after my usual mechanic failed to tighten them. Fair pricing and quick service.

I was vacationing on the cape, my car wouldn't start on Thursday morning and I had to leave the rental property by Saturday morning. In a calm panic, I called DOZENS of different automotive repair places on the Cape, and got dozens of the same response "sorry we're fully booked for the next two weeks good luck bye". Matt Leonard was THE ONLY PERSON who took me seriously and offered to help. He didn't even get the car until mid afternoon on Thursday and he had a new starter in it by 9 AM on Friday morning (not an easy repair!). It was done so quickly, so painlessly, and for a fair price. If you're stuck in a vacation pinch (or even just live on the cape) CALL THIS PLACE. They're lifesavers.

In my 83 years I have dealt with dozens of auto repair shops, all over the country, some very good. But none comes close to Leonard Automotive in COMPETENCE, DIAGNOSIS, FOLLOWUP, HONESTY. Matt Leonard is not just an outstanding technician - he is like a research scientist. He THINKS. He ANALYZES. He SOLVES PROBLEMS. I have taken some baffling issues with my 2001 Jeep Cherokee, 2007 Toyota Sienna and Matt has never failed to nail the diagnosis and fix the problem. And I should not fail to mention his office manager Carrie who is a delight to deal with- she makes the repair experience that much more pleasant. I am going to move away from Cape Cod soon and not having access to Leonard Automotive will be one of my top regrets about the move.Services: Transmission
