I was Googling Roz's to see what time they were open until when I saw all the recent negative reviews. I just felt like I had to chime in. I have been coming to Roz's since 2005, when I was in high school. I don't go all the time, but stop in every couple months or so. I have always had nothing but pleasant interactions with everyone there, and find the employees to be nice and helpful. They have a really cool selection and great deals. The shop dog, Morgan, is also always a treat to see. In my time coming here over nearly 2 decades now, I have always found everyone to be kind and patient with me as a customer. I do not mean to disparage anyone's experience they've had, but I just wanted to toss my own opinion out there. I really love this place and seeing all of the negativity made me sad, whether it was warranted or not.

Friend showed me a skirt they had here to ask if it was my style of clothing, and I held it up to look at it not worrying about size.Woman who works there (who I felt had been watching me from the moment I walked in the store) instantly comes up to me saying its a child size very loudly.I explain to her my friend picked it out and she keeps going, loudly saying "are you a child size? Thats a child size" very patronizingly and rudeI felt like she was purposefully trying to embarrass or shame me.Buy somewhere with a less rude owner who doesnt shame all the customers

I went with my friend and showed her a skirt. The employee asked if she was a small as I gave her the skirt to look atShe said that she was just looking and the employee started saying very patronizingly that it was a childs size and kept repeatingly asking her it she was a childs size,AFTER MY FRIEND POLITELY EXPLAINED that I gave her the skirt to look at, not knowing my friend’s exact size

I was so shocked by the behavior of the woman working there today that my partner and I are still chuckling to ourselves hours later about how absurdly rude she was. I asked her if there was somewhere I could leave the clothing I wanted try on while I was shopping because I have a shoulder injury and holding onto the heavy clothes was aggravating it. I was told that I either needed to buy the pieces right then or they would be put back on the retail floor for other customers to grab and that they couldn't be held behind the counter or in the fitting room. While this doesn't seem so unreasonable, she was very short with me and rude about her delivery of this message and I was really put off by it. Then the woman told me that I would not be able to try on half of the garments I had selected anyways because I would "stretch them out" and that they were too small. It's like...are you even trying to make a sale over here? At first I thought I was being sensitive but then when I witnessed her behavior with another customer I realized this woman is totally out of line. I watched her deny giving another customer a receipt and a few other people who were within ear shot audibly gasped when hearing how she was speaking to this man. This lady is out of control rude. At this point another couple who was in the store turned to me and my partner and stated how rude this woman had also been to them and how they were going to just leave. We all were in consensus that we didn't want to support this business and a big group of customers all walked out at the same time. It was ridiculous. I will never go back.

Popped in here on a Saturday night looking to find something cute and relatively cheap. Prices were a little high for my liking. In the end, my mom just bought a hat she liked. Upon checking out, I noticed the beautiful dog behind the desk. She was very timid but friendly. Upon command she knows to prop her two paws on the counter to "help customers" as the owner said. Very cute place with even cuter works!

Staff are rude and judgemental. I work retail and if someone asks about an item that doesn't seem like it would fit/suit them, my first thought is immediately "this is probably a gift for someone else," which I keep to myself and I continue to help them regardless. I like the selection here I've always felt like they're actively trying NOT to sell things in that place. Prices can be a bit over the top as well, but that's the least of my concerns.

The older woman who works there is so rude and unfriendly. It honestly has deterred me from coming in the store any longer, despite the nice collection of vintage. My last interaction with her last year in which I asked to try something on and she said it wouldn’t fit me. Weird because I don’t remember asking her if it did?? I’m a medium/large and I had picked out a medium shirt. It seems like this isn’t her first time body shaming customers, given that there are other reviews stating this.

I’ve shopped here my whole life and unfortunately that isn’t gonna be a thing anymore. One of my very good friends has just experienced what I consider to be one of the worst types of treatment as a customer in an establishment. They were looking at a top that was currently on display and the women behind the counter proceeded to tell them that the top was TOO SMALL for them. 1. They didn’t ask for your opinion on if it would fit they asked to see the piece and 2. What if they suffered from and eating disorder, or Body Dysphoria? That could have sent them into a spiral. From someone who openly suffers with both issues I honestly don’t know what I would have done. I am honestly so saddened and ashamed that not only my dear friend had to experience this while just trying to hand out flyers for an upcoming event and wanting to see a top, but also the fact that this had to happen in a place that is suppose to be a safe space like Northampton! Such a shame! Roz’s DO BETTER!

Pretty shocked at how they treated my friend that was admiring a top in the window. She went in to ask about it and they told her “it’s a size small. And you’re not a small”. Unfortunate. We can do better in Northampton, especially for our trans community.

Hearing that this store employs people who body shame someone when inquiring about a shirt is just sad. Not only do they not know who they might’ve been buying the shirt for & maybe it wasn’t for themself but also how dare you tell someone they’re too large to buy a clothing item for their body. Truly disposable & I hope these employees are reprimanded.

I just walked in their store moments ago as I’ve always done in the past, when I see something interesting in the window. Today however I asked about a banana top that’s currently on display in the window. There was two people behind the counter one was a man another was a women. The man had no idea what shirt I was asking about purchasing and the women did know what shirt I was talking about but proceeded to tell me the shirt was “small like xs” to give me a idea of the size. Which I found odd because I was asking if it was for sale and then the man next to her agreed it was “too small” and wouldn’t fit me and made the comment “yea that shirts small and you are not small at all”. It’s the most disgusting way i’ve ever been spoken to and I don’t think it’s appropriate to be judging or making comments on anyones body type ever. In Northampton especially of all places! This place isn’t friendly nor is it body positive.I will be taking my business elsewhere and If you are body positive and or queer I wouldn’t dare support this establishment.
