They installed a defective clutch in my mustang cobra...it was ok for a month then I couldn't get it into first or reverse..... probably had some swing man 18 yr old with the input shaft hanging off the clutch disk.....the also replaced a trans mount that had nothing wrong with it...they tried also selling me a new quadrant when the adjustable cable I provided was just fine....BEWARE of this place and stay clear of them....originally I was quoted $600-$700 to do the job...my bill was $1200 with the parts I supplied, brand new btw....just my experience with these thief's...again folks steer clear Randall grenier

EDIT: it's been a year now, and i'm not at all surprised that this shop takes the time to respond to everybody else's reviews, but not mine. what could they possibly say? either way, i ain't forgot what happened, and i don't intend to EVER stop talking about it to every single person i know. did i mention they crunched up my brand new front license plate? i've just gotta wonder how that could happen. did i mention they installed the shift cable in the wrong hole on the bracket? did i mention they charged me to work on my electric tachometer that never had any issues? and then they tied the electrics for it into the voltage feed for the fans with a crappy inline splice? and it made the fans work intermittently for months until i went thru the wiring and fixed it myself?
first the bad, then the ugly.
they charged me almost double the initial quote, while taking almost 3 times as long as they said. the truck broke down less than a mile out of their driveway, because their "technician" did not ground the ignition coil they installed, and it shorted to itself. they installed a speedometer cable, and let it sit directly on the exhaust pipe, where it immediately melted and stopped working. the TV cable was never tightened and for months the truck was exhibiting very short stacked shifts. that was a problem until i repaired it myself.
now the truly bad:
they scratched the shit out of the paint on my truck. initially John took responsibility for it and asked me to get an estimate for repair. i got 3 estimates, took them the least expensive one and Dave was very aggressive to me, telling me the shop would "never repair my paint because it cost too much, and it's not like i'm driving a show truck or something".
i didn't scratch my truck. they did the damage, it's their responsibility to repair it. businesses carry insurance exactly for this kind of situation. what it costs to repair has nothing to do with me. the fact that they were ok to pass their mistake along to me is reprehensible. i've never been treated this badly by a business in my life. i could never recommend them to anyone.
it's a shame that any business owner could say they take pride in the work they do and let this happen.

I had a problem with my 2015 Nissan versa this week.
From start to finish, I received good communication, and no answering machine. The job was even done for less than quoted. Very happy with their service. Back on the road with it today!

Very happy with my new tires from Northampton Transmission. I quoted nearly 2x that price from a Boston Toyota Dealership. Friendly staff, accommodating, and a good price. I would go again.

Dave and his team are awesome. They did work on my son’s transmission and when a part they installed was faulty, they replaced it and raced to get it done before the holiday weekend. The best customer service!

Had my transmission repaired here and they did a great job! I was worried I'd have to buy a new truck, but they did the repair for way less than I expected (under $1k in my case). Truck is running great now and I'm very pleased! Thanks.Service: Transmission repair

I needed the transmission filter and fluid changed in my 2012 Tundra. I usually work on all my own vehicles, but thought I would save myself some time by sending it in. It was my first and last visit to this shop. They quoted me $250-350 and in the end it cost me $430 (toyota quoted me $500 for an entire system flush, filter change, and refill). Dropped the truck off Tuesday morning and they assured me it would be done that day. Did not get the truck back until Friday evening. There was zero communication from the company. I had to call every day to check on progress in which I was told they were way too busy. They claimed they did a diagnostic test drive that cost me $98 but the mileage in/out says otherwise. 3 miles in total even though they said they drove it to greenfield and around the city. While the truck was there they tried to fix my tpms light that was on even though I never said to, by taking my tire psi from 50-35. After this didn't work they never re inflated my tires so I had to. After i got the truck back i could NOT find the registration, finally found it hours later jammed in the framework under my passenger front seat. Overall a very large waste of money and lesson learned.Service: Transmission

First rate service, honest, professional, reasonably priced. Took my 2016 Subaru Forester in for a second opinion after the local Subaru dealership quoted me $2200 (and 5-7 days with my car out of service waiting for their attention) on a "must do" transmission repair, telling me that a major unit of the transmission needed replacement. Dave, the owner at Northampton Transmission, quickly concluded only a couple of parts within the unit were bad, replaced them within a few hours the same day, and charged me $700. Dave also stands behind his work, as he later proved when one of the new parts turned out to be a lemon. If I could get this shop to do all my auto repair work, I wouldn't hesitate!
