I’ve been working with Lia Toyota in Northampton for many years. My experiences fluctuate. This past week I had my car serviced. I had wanted to buy our new car there, but no one ever called us back. We made three attempts at telling them we were trading in a Prius and wanted a RAV and I never got a call back which was so surprising. And very disappointing. We bought the car at McGee Toyota.
In any case I was having my car serviced and there was horrible music blaring at 8 AM. I asked if they could lower it or perhaps change it which they did for a short period of time and I appreciated that very much.
I was very pleased to see that they had WWF brochures on the side tables in the waiting area. Unfortunately, these brochures/magazines which are all about protecting wildlife, climate control, etc.. We’re all from the year 2000 and 2001. It just made me feel like nobody really cares. Why would you have 23 year old brochures with information that is so irrelevant …,I think there’s no ill intent. There’s just no follow through to make a good thing better, it’s all missing a beat.
How do you have a car dealership that has sales people that never call you back ?!? And customer service people who don’t know who you are even after only an hour and a half.
When my service tech came out to get me, he didn’t know who I was. Service is ALL about making people feel seen and heard.
Again, they could write on the back of my service sheet (lady with white hair and pink shirt)so they knew who they’re looking for in the waiting area…instead they go to random people and ask if they were me …just disappointing all around.

Our experience at Lia Toyota of Northampton was very positive. We just bought a car and traded in our old car. Fran Ravina, the salesperson, was very nice, helpful, knowledgeable and kept me informed at every step during the process. There were 2 minor issues but they were remedied very courteously and very quickly. We've also had good experiences in the past with their service department.

Called to try and book a rental was back and forth getting pricing together and was treated very well over the phone, got me something set to pick up in my budget. Even told me over the phone "we don't want to loose your business". And had a SUV ready for me to pick up. I get there with husband and the manager from the rental area looked like he saw a ghost. Looked as if he didn't want to even come near us. He walked nervously around pacing out the office area and told me to wait a moment he had to check something..mind you i drove 30 min there(he knew this) He makes us wait 15 minutes to come out of no where and said. Something changed. I said what do you mean? He said unfortunately we cant rent to you. I was so confused. I said what was the Reason i made reservation over the phone with you specifically,and he didn't give me one. He kept saying that things changed and they couldn't rent me after talking with him numerous times over the phone and setting up a pick up. I felt racially profiled. There was literally no reason other than his self judgment. Im Hispanic and so is my husband. He turned us down for no reason what so ever. All he did was keep looking at us up and down i can feel his dislike towards us. And that is not fair. I wouldn't recommend to fellow Hispanics or Latinos ect. to do business here very unprofessional and very degrading feeling by making us feel unwelcome as soon as we walked in the dealership. His name is David (rental department manager) and ( who ever his boss is was in it as well)his customer service was racist and embarrassing.
