“I had a nail in my tire and came into the Saugus, MA location today without an appointment. The gentleman that helped me, Manny, was very friendly and helpful. He informed me the tire couldn’t be repaired due to location of the nail so I needed a replacement. Thank goodness for the road hazard warranty, which I didn’t realize I had. Anyhow, because I didn’t have an appointment, Manny offered to put on the spare for now until they can get me in. A few minutes later, Manny came back and told me they’ll go ahead and just put on the new tire!! Dealing with unexpected tire issues is stressful enough, but Manny and the team helped relieve that stress. Thank you for the best customer service and quick turn around time; overall the smoothest walk-in service I’ve had!”
“I had a nail in one of my tires and was slowly leaking. Walked in to the shop and was attended immediately. After accessment, the tire was not repairable because it was close to the sidewall. My tires are all around 7/32 thread depth. They offered a used tire that was very similar in thread depth for a reasonable price, including balancing and installation. Was in and out in 1 hour. Pretty good for a walk in. While waiting, many people also dropped by and asked for help either for alignment or replacing a tire. Highly recommended. I prefer local shops to chains and this is why.”
“Had a problem with a leaky tire. Went to Tweksbury store and had tire resealed. Went back two days later for same issue. It was the electronic sensor valve being defective. Replaced and problem solved.”

“Took my Corvette to Herb Chambers 3 times for the engine misfiring..After the 3rd visit they told me it was the transmission and to take it to a transmission mechanic in Wakefield. Within 1 hr the transmission place told me it was fine. Took it to essex County auto repair. They did a tune up in one day. Car runs like new and they did it at a excellent price. The dealership should be embarrassed,they couldn't fix the car. They had it for 3 weeks.. can't say enough about essex, thank u for fixing my car.”
“The name may have changed to Mavis Tires & Brakes (It used to be NTB, then NTW.) but the service remains great. I started coming here in the 90s, when I moved to Woburn, and have had all six of my cars serviced here over the years. Today was brake rotors and pads all around. I asked a lot of questions and they showed me all, both the old and the newly installed hardware. Friendly and professional service, as always.”
“Fast, efficient service. Easy and pleasant to work with. After I left the shop, Hometown Garage found a mistake in the bill in my favor. I had no way to know that there was a mistake, but Hometown Garage rectified it immediately by charging me the correct lower amount instead of the original higher amount. “I have had the worst luck catching nails on my tires and I've probably seen these guys at least 3-4 times just this month. However, they are always quick with their work, walk me through the problem, provide helpful suggestions, and hook me up with prices that work for me and my situation. “Moving to Lynn meant we needed to find an auto repair shop we could trust. We shopped around and finally found Larson's. This is a woman owned and run business that is thorough, organized and affordable. Their goal is to make sure you receive the service you need to keep your car in top notch condition.
I brought my Honda here last week. After they did their review of the car, they recommended a few items that needed to be done. I agreed to have them do the work which included some outsourcing of part of the exhaust system.
The repairs were done on time and for the price quoted.
Driving home I got a warning light, so I called and they said bring it back tomorrow. I did and they determined two items needed to be fixed which may have been related to the repairs or maybe not.
Diane, the owner said that they were covering the cost to repair as it was possibly related to the other work done! I was so happy she did this and I was so astounded I don't think I thanked her enough. If you need your car serviced do not hesitate to use Larsons's. They have me as a customer for life after the way they treated me.”

“I am so glad I found this place. I don’t like going to the large dealerships to get maintenance on my car so I called Hometown auto and had a great experience. They were very respectful. The job was done quickly and it was nowhere near the price I had been paying at other places. In addition I had, experienced driving through floodwater about two months ago and called them to find out if my car should be seen for possible damage. They were again so helpful, understanding and offered for me to come by the next day so they could check my car out. I highly recommend Hometown Auto! I will be back.”

It only took 1.5 hours or so for them to diagnose it and they didn’t add any other random charges as well to it that people often do. Prices were fair!! ? If you’re in a pinch go do these guys. I don’t think I’d trust most other places.
The waiting area was big, outlets on the wall if you want to work and plenty of seats/couch space.
Lastly, I was so glad they talked to me in a good tone, explained things well, and didn’t treat me like I was an idiot like a lot of car mechanic places do. (Talking to you Honda Fresh Pond!?)”
