“I am a female who knows nothing about cars. From the moment I called Devoted Repairs, I knew I was putting my car in the right hands.Ben was so attentive listening to my long-winded car troubles. After he thoroughly explained how my engine works in terms that I understood, it made sense to schedule an appointment at Devoted Repairs for a second opinion.When I arrived at the shop, I was blown away. This was the cleanest shop I have ever been in. The guys in the office (I think their names were both Mike) were so friendly and welcoming. They answered a bunch of my questions and let me know I would hear from them soon. I received a text when Ben started working on my car and a text with his diagnosis right when he finished. Within a minute of receiving the text with his diagnosis, Ben called to discuss all of the tests he did on my car. He extensively explained how he came up with a completely different answer for my check engine light than a shop in Manchester came up with. I moved forward with having Ben do the repair he knew my car needed.Devoted Repairs saved me thousands of dollars. Had I listened to the first shop that diagnosed my car, I would have spent almost $2k fixing something that wasn't even broken. These guys are honest and provide services at a great cost. They even offer new customers 15% off of your first visit, which was a phenomenal surprise!”
“Years ago my car at the time failed inspection due to a compromised exhaust pipe. I had been planning on upgrading to a custom exhaust setup anyways and decided to replace everything from the engine to the tailpipe. I lived in Tewksbury at the time & had heard good things about R&D. I came in and received a consult &
estimate for the work. I remember the prices were reasonable & staff was friendly/knowledgeable.
The day of my appointment came and I dropped the car off. I got a call a little while later from the owner telling me that there was too much oil on the exhaust up near the engine and that they didn’t want to start a fire with all the welding they needed to do. He told me I needed to get an “underbody wash” at a car wash before they could do any work on it. He even went as far as to give me a list of car washes in the area that offer the best underbody washes. Really above & beyond customer service.
After the car wash he was able to fit me right back in to their busy schedule that same week & I dropped it off again. A few minutes after dropping it off he called me and told me to come in so he could show me something. I got back to R&D and he brought me out to the shop where my car was on the lift. He showed me a small spot on my engine block (not the drain pan) where the original oil leak was coming from. He told me to gently press the spot with my finger. I did and the spot was flexing! So many layers of metal had rusted & fallen off over the years that the spot was practically paper thin and oil was actually seeping THROUGH the metal (there was no actual hole yet). He said I was going to need a new engine in less than a few months and he couldn’t in good conscience install an exhaust on an old car that was about to be totaled without checking with me first.
R&D could have easily taken my money, installed my exhaust, and walked away. Instead they did the right thing every step of the way even though it ended up costing them a sale. Honesty & integrity like this are rare nowadays, especially in the auto industry. So rare that my interaction with R&D has stuck with me all these years and I decided to finally write this review. I obviously can’t speak to this shop’s workmanship (although I’ve heard it’s excellent) but I CAN say that without a doubt, R&D is a business you can trust…and that’s saying something these days.”

“It’s not every day you find a mechanic on a whim through a Google search and have such an impeccable experience as I did today but alas, it happened!! The employees were nothing short of professional, friendly and most importantly, honest. Honest regarding the parts needed to safely complete the job and honest regarding the cost, which was on the lower end of the quotes I’d received. I dropped my car off at 8 AM and had it back by 3 in the afternoon, and everyone knows in car repair time, that’s impressive and super convenient. Fingers crossed I won’t need to see these guys for a long time, but if I do need a car repair down the line, I won’t hesitate to bring it to Dutton!”

They went themselves to get the new tires at another place since we couldn’t. They are one of the few independent shops in the area that have a high end Hunter road force balancing equipment and do a terrific job diagnosing and solving tire/wheel issues. Person at the front desk is very professional and knowledgeable. I appreciated that he patiently listened to my concerns, and then provided a detailed explanation of the performed work and any concerns. Pricing was very reasonable.
