New GE Washer, paid cash 2019. Spun uneven, clunking on sides, loud. First was told that's how it is!? Then service guy came said maybe gear box, had to consult, never to hear from again. It was under warranty still. Covid came. No answer when I called or talked to nasty if answered. I lived with problem, at times no spin. Now 2024 and won't spin. A brand new washer I can't use less than 5 years old!! My old washer that I replaced was from Rent a center, from my son, rented to own, moved a few times, worked for over 10 years! I grew up with parents who always went to Central Radio, I used to start there. I no longer recommend them.out to house,

My mother bought a new power lift chair for my father who has had a stroke. This chair was delivered and very uncomfortable for my father who spends 24/7 in this chair. Even sleeps in it. After one week of trying the chair we tried to return it. Central radio refused to even try to help us with a return. They only tried to sell her another chair. It's awful. I try to shop local, but it's hard when your local store won't do anything to help you.

My refrigerator died in April during a freak heat wave. With 90 degree temperatures and guests coming for a visit, I needed a new fridge, fast. I didn't have time to shop around, so when Central Radio said they could install a replacement the next day, I agreed and shame on me for not doing my homework first. I paid $2700 for a fridge that sells for $1900 at the big box stores. I don't like shopping at the big box stores, and always try to shop local, even if it's a bit more money, but Central Radio is just plain greedy. When our washer, dryer, and dishwasher need replacing, I'll know where not to shop!

We wanted to buy local so we started at Central Radio but our sale went south discussing what happens if something goes wrong after 1 year. They charge $100+ to begin service after one year warranty is up. I argued that that shouldn't be the case as I had previously had a dryer issue and a repair service fix the dryer for $60 after warranty and they came to the house without a service charge. Sale never went further because they were really irritated by me, said to me you can't get a service repair estimate on your car without a service fee first, that is not true, we just left. Found Hollister's appliance in Bennington, just a few miles away. Better pricing, service fee of $85.00 after warranty service that is applied to repair costs. SOLD. Same day delivery and install. Had an enjoyable conversation with the owner/salesperson who knew everything there was to know about appliances, will tell and show you the difference between a $500 washer and a $1500 washer, person at Central radio could not.

This has been the absolute worst customer service experience of my life. I wanted to shop locally to put money into the local economy. I paid a bit more than if I'd shopped at a big box store but I thought it was worth it. I initially ordered a unit that the salesperson incorrectly measured. It wouldn't fit down my stairs because I had such a small margin where it could have fit. No big deal. About 2 months later I ordered another set through them that fit but when they installed it, it was defective. Obviously I was frustrated but I had them take it and order another. I was told they'd rush it by the sales person and that I should have it in two weeks. That was a lie. I didn't get it until 1.5 months later. They said it was a new unit but I'm fairly certain it was the same because one of the delivery guys let slip that they'd just "fixed" the original. Lo and behold, this one is broken in the exact same way. The delivery person refused to take it back and said my only option was having a service technician come out. I was offered a $100 discount on a $2500 set for my inconvenience. They also threw in an extended warranty, since I was nervous at the longevity of the machines. I appreciated that, although I don't think it was sufficient since I'd probably spent twice that in laundromat fees while still paying off the units (essentially I didn't get a discount since I had to use the laundromat even though I had a brand new washer and dryer in my basement). The service tech came and was very nice but said he'd have to come back another time with parts. A few weeks later he came and "fixed" the unit. The washer and dryer worked for about 2 months or so, and then broke in the same way. This time the defect caused damage. I called because I wanted a replacement. They offered to replace the unit but take away the extended warranty. This doesn't seem like good service from my perspective since this was offered as a solution for the MAJOR inconvenience of all of this. When I spoke to their customer service reps, they all had snotty attitudes, were argumentative, mocked me, said I didn't make any sense, and had zero empathy. One person said they shouldn't have to take it back since I'd had it for 6 months. I find that hilarious since I had it for about 2 months working and only after it was "fixed" by their technician. I am not a rich person and buying my first washer and dryer after purchasing my first home as a young woman on my own, who worked very hard to earn my money was a big deal for me. The last customer service rep I talked to said he "didn't understand" when I explained if you pay full price for something, it should work and not be damaged. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand. If I buy a set of plates and one is broken, I should get a new set or a deep discount. From the first day I owned the first unit they gave me it hasn't worked correctly. They keep bringing up the $100 discount as if that makes up for the fact that I spent $1200 on a dryer that I can't use and is now damaged as a direct result of the inherent defect it had. I will admit I got pretty upset with their customer service dept, but only after I had people repeatedly act rude to me. The ONLY person who has been helpful through this was the owner but he refused to talk to me this last time. Hopefully this can be resolved before I am forced to go to the better business bureau and also contact the credit card company to dispute the charges since I STILL have a defective dryer and a washer that I can't use because I have nowhere to hang clothes to dry. I'll have to go spend even more money at the laundromat while making payments on something unusable. Bottom line: if you pay for a brand new item, it should work and be in pristine condition. If it is not, it should be taken care of and the customer service department should be apologetic and helpful rather than smarmy and argumentative. I wish I had recorded the con

I had a great experience here. The saleswoman was extremely knowledgeable and helpful so much so that I ended up purchasing 2 items. I purchased on Tuesday and they delivered on Thursday and even showed up early. They are also competitive with the big orange store and service what they sell. I would highly recommend

The only good part about this job is that you get paid every week other then that the company is racist the owner will not Acknowledge you in your orientation will walk past you and will not speak or anything , they have an 30 day probation period they can fire you for anything in that time period and they will make something up if they dont want you apart of there “family business” it’s family ran business so I will not recommend this company for great opportunity at all it’s an pour organization and racist only 2 black females work in the building other then that everybody else is white American

The salesman was informative and very personable. After 20 phone calls to varies places we settled for Central Appliance. The big box stores can't sell anything off floor and turn around is minimal 2weeks.The selection was good, and had the unit in stock. Bought it and came home with it. They do deliver also.

Every time I've needed an appliance last minute they always seem to have what I need. They usually have plenty in stock, and relatively decent prices considering it is a locally owned business, versus a chain company. I'm willing to pay the extra hundred dollars to support local. They always seem to help you as best as they can, and usually have multiple options to choose from. I've never needed anything fancy for furniture or appliances, but it seems to me that they have multiple budgets in mind.
