Several employees need an attitude adjustment. There is one very rude person who takes care of carts who practically tackles you grabbing the cart away from you ,giving you no time to finish after shopping .The empoyees working the express check outs assume you are going to steal,saying very loudly "are you going to pay for the 5 cent candy and one grape that fell out" (an exageration .or is it) Returns,forget it.They make you feel as if you are stealing if you lost your receipt,even though they can look it up by your number,I mean,isnt that the point of that system? They need to hold ongoing meetings to train their empoyees to show more respect to their customers Somewhere along the way they lost sight of that

A very well stocked, clean store. The staff was very friendly, asking if I needed help when shopping which was greatly appreciated. Wish we had Big Y on Cape Cod where I live!

Lovely store and the fact that it’s bakery is called patisserie I was impressed. However let down at the lack of interaction with my cashier Lana K who talked more to the cashier in next register and that cashiers bagger than she did with myself or my accompanying party… despite our attempts to interact before departing the store. I’ve been to 20+ big y stores in the past three months and had similar actions in a few others… but cashiers should interact with their customer when they have one not the other employees unless they needed help with a transaction and this one clearly did not need assistance as it was four items all of which were clearanced.

Big Y has come a long way over the years, and I have to give them a lot of credit. In certain areas, they really knock it out of the park. They make a strong effort to have as many local products as possible, for example, and I like that I'll often find unique things to buy here. They also have a really great food service department and their made to order subs are excellent and well-priced.That said, the store is smaller than the other grocery store in town, so I find often that the selection of some products suffers. Pricing does tend to be a little higher (on average) than the competition as well - but not dramatically so. As a result, rather than being my primary store I find that I stop at Big Y more for smaller trips or for the unique products I can't get elsewhere.
