Would give 0 for pharmacy if i could. Had surgery and multiple medications were prescribed including antibiotics and pain killers. My doctor accidentally sent it to this pharmacy instead of my usual one. I called the day of them being prescribed and no one from the pharmacy picked up. I called the next day and again, no one picked up. I went to the store in person while still on hold, now having been 45 mins. One person was in front of me and they didn't seem particularly busy with 4 staff behind the counter. I had to demand they be filled immediately as I was in a lot of pain. I was told i needed to come in person if it was urgent!! Terrible, have never had this at other CVS pharmacies. Whoever runs this store should be looked into by CVS based on my experience and other similar reviews about the pharmacy. Run to 978 Boylston Street Newton CVS and avoid this one at all costs

The pharmacy appears chronically understaffed, causing common 30min+ wait times

Close to train station. Really kind clerks (Satwinder specifically) and well-organized store.

The pharmacy is seriously Understaffed. I got in line at 4 pm only to be told at 4:30 that my daughter’s prescription is on hold. Then I joined the consultation line … Pharmacist was too busy administering vaccines and did not attend to my issue for another hour. Did not have time for customers. Feel bad for the 2 staff attending to the long line of customers waiting to pick up prescriptions.

Some staffs are not professional at all . They are rude and not helpful for questions. They provide expired medication. It is very dissatisfied with the service of this pharmacy store.

Busy pharmacy. Not enough staff. Left without an important medication. I am upset.

Absurdly long wait times in pharmacy, they started closing at 6PM, which realistically only gives you an hour to get there after work and wait 30+ minutes in line

Waited for an hour to pick up a prescription for my sick daughter and they wouldn’t fill the subscription when I got to the counter because they were closing in 6 minutes.

The people are nice. That said it's a revolving door of staff. The system both on the customer and provider side is awful, making it hard to automate tasks, consistently fill prescriptions or otherwise do any basic pharmacy tasks. Shortages seem to be coming more common. The system does push for unnecessary procedures, like childhood vaccine boosters for adults who aren't advised to receive them (per CDC). On top of that all the hours are inconsistent and based on multiple bits of CVS info, wrong.

As others have pointed out, this branch is particularly bad at pharmacy service. All the CVS stores are clearly understaffed in the pharmacy, but the attitude of some of the staff here (not all) is the worst. They NEVER answer the phone even when they aren't busy. I know this because once after waiting on hold for 40 min, I went to the store and there was no one in line. (Other CVS stores will at least answer some of the time). They are often out of stock of important meds (more than other branches) and as everyone else has said - they don't notify you or make any effort to help you find the medication. The awful software/app doesn't help this situation. I'm sure the real problem is that they are understaffed and overworked - but somehow this branch is noticeably worse.

The pharmacy is absolutely appalling. I witnessed a male pharmacists laughing with a coworker about a customer after not properly helping them. I often have to go in to get them to even process a prescription. Tonight, I went in they told me I had to wait 20 minutes for them to fill it. I then waited over an hour, was told to step aside and wait twice after, then was given attitude by the pharmacist who told me she hasn’t seen me waiting (insinuating I’m a liar) and told me too bad if it’s not ready. She then looked it up and told me my prescription has been ready for a long time, they just couldn’t find it so they kept telling me to step aside. They take forever, always a long line, and it’s absolute CHAOS.I’ve also seen people screaming at each other after someone cuts the line and the employees do NOTHING about it - often times they actually make it worse. If I didn’t live right near this pharmacy I would NEVER ever choose to go to it. It’s pitiful. Truly. I’ve never seen anything like it. Shameful.

I would like to give 0 but it’s not possible. They have a big poster about passport photos but they don’t have the service.

My son had 5 prescriptions called in post surgery that included pain medicines and antibiotics. The prescriptions were called in at approximately 5pm. I arrived at the store at 6:30 pm and was told that there were "too many prescriptions" and that because they were short staffed they would be unable to fill them before their 7:00 closing time. Seriously? This is a customer/patient with post -op pain and an incision. How is this legal or ethical? A pharmacy should be obligated to be staffed correctly to meet the needs of patients, just like hospitals are legislated to do with ICU nursing staff.

This pharmacy is shameful. They never answer the phone. They are out of stock on most medications and never update you as to when the medication will be available. I waited more than 7 days and the medication was still unavailable. I moved the prescription to Walgreens down the street and they were able to fill the same medication in ONE day! The pharmacist is amazing and does all he can but CVS is NOT a place that serves patients with their needs. I strongly suggest switching to ANY other pharmacy chain.
