I had to leave a week’s worth of groceries because they don’t take Apple Pay. I didn’t have my physical card on me. The clerk asked if I was going to go get my physical card and come back, so she didn’t have to put it all away. I told her I wasn’t making a 15 minute trip to go get it without going somewhere else and she tried to shame me about it. I drove to Wegmans and Apple Pay worked great. It’s nearly 2024, people.

I really like this store. I used to shop at Roche's but the prices are outrageous. Star is better and has a great meat and fish counter. Really nice staff behind these counters. Great freshly made subs for $8z Great selection of all products.

Star Market is a pretty good market, with a varied selection of healthy foods AND all the others. It is important to note that there is competition close, the Wegmans Market on the other side of the state highway. The prices are lower here in comparison to some other Star Markets in the area, noticeably the one in Auburndale. Pay attention to their smartphone app and you may be able to understand the differences. An interesting factor is the proximity of other grocery stores.Freshness is really good, and their 10 AM pickup online ordering is pretty handy! Thanks for the wonderful service, Star Market!

The management needs to train the cashiers to properly ring up produce.Oftentimes, the cashiers would ring up procduce incorrectly, e.g. green cabbage as savoy cabbage, lime as avocado, etc. And the mistakes are, for some reason, always costing the customers more, never the other way.I shop here all the time, and I want to continue to do so, but if the management doesn't fix this issue, I'll need to go to the Wegmans down the road.

It has been a long time since I shopped at a star market. The person at the checkout had the worst attitude. I signed up for the membership app before getting to the checkout, so that I could get the "discounted" price, which is really just the normal price. Well, he made me input a bunch of things, went back and forth, scanned my QR code several times, and in the end, I was so frustrated that I just wanted to pay as soon as I could to get out of there. Once I got out and checked my receipt, they charged me the full, ripoff price. I'm okay with paying a little more for a pleasant shopping experience. But this was just the worst!

Management really needs to train the cashers to greet customers. I've been coming here for 20 years, and it's always the same. No one says hi, and no thank yous. Maybe I should just go to Wegmans..

The selection and prices are good but the cashiers on Sunday afternoons are always pretty rude. Today the cashier asked if we want to bag and we said yeah because we don't mind to help with bagging but usually the cashier starts to bag after they scan but she just stood and watched us and proceed to smash our bread with a watermelon to which she said "oh,sorry" in a monotone voice so it really didn't seem like she cared.

I recently visited the Star Market in Newton, and while it wasn't a terrible shopping experience, it also didn't leave a lasting impression on me. My visit to the store was a mix of posotives and negatives, resulting in an overall average rating.Let's start with the Pros. The store's location was convenient, and the parking situation was decent, making it relatively easy to access. Inside, the layout was relatively organized, and I could find most of the items I needed without too much trouble. The store was adequately stocked with a variety of products, and I appreciated the selection of some local and specialty items. However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. First and foremost, the store's cleanliness left something to be desired. Some aisles appeared a bit disheveled, and I noticed some spills that hadn't been promptly cleaned up. This gave the store a somewhat unkempt feel, which detracted from the overall shopping experience.Another aspect that didn't meet my expectations was the customer service. While I didn't encounter any rude staff members, I also didn't feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff seemed a bit indifferent and not particularly eager to assist customers. A little more friendliness and willingness to help would go a long way in enhancing the overall shopping experience.Additionally, I foumd that the pricing at Star Market was a bit on the higher side compared to some other grocery stores in the area. While I understand that convenience comes with a cost, I would have appreciated more competitive pricing, especially for everyday essentials.Furthermore, the selection of fresh produce seemed somewhat limited, and the quality of some items didn't meet my expectations. It would be great to see a greater emphasis on providing fresher and more diverse produce options for customers.Lastly, the checkout process was somewhat slow and inefficient. There weren't enough open registers to handle the number of customers, resulting in longer-than-desired wait times. This aspect could definitely use improvement to enhance customer satisfaction. In conclusion, my experience at the Star Market in Newton was average at best. While there were some positives, such as convenience and decent product selection, there were also several areas that need improvement, such as store cleanliness, customer service, pricing, and checkout efficiency. If you're in the area and looking for a nearby grocery store, Star Market might suffice, but there are likely better options available for a more satisfying shopping experience.

I've been orderling online via the Chestnut HIll store for a while now. Past few times though have encountered some issues and the worst one most recently. Order never came, was charged for it. Called the store put me on hold, then they hung up. Called again and was transferred to a number that just rang and rang and rang and rang. Called again, let the customer service agent know what was going on and she hung up on me. Tried the online customer service chat and interacted with three different agents. Each one's writing/communication skills were pretty poor. Overall service was deplorable throughout this ordeal. Don't waste your time here!

The fresh produce, ready to eat area, big charcuterie area. The meat section is clean and neatly cut and operated. The small and medium size ? display can be improved. These should not be cut into filets already because the flesh becomes dry or at least put mist system like they do on the veggies, else they don't look appetizing at all. The skin is what keeps the flesh moist and fresh. They should prepare the fish to order. The staff is friendly and helpful.

This was our first time to Star Market. I really liked shopping here. It has the same items the other grocery stores have, but it seemed very well maintained, everything was displayed well. Some stores look like a war zone, but not this place. We don't have Star Market in Western Massachusetts, so we will stop here again often because we come to Boston a few times or more per month. Enjoy!!

This store is pretty cool, all upstairs shopping. Carriage escalators as well ? clean and all the isles are full of goodies. ✌
