If I could give no stars I would. I have been with Segal Insurance since I purchased my home in 2009. In June of this year, Vermont Mutual contacted me to say my homeowner's policy will be cancelled because they are no longer going to do business with Segal Insurance. I contacted the owner, David, because the letter was upsetting, his only response was that "we had time" and then went on to interrogate me about not having my auto policy with him as well. I told him I changed agents because of poor customer service I experienced with his Quincy location. I never heard from him again. The cancellation date was drawing near so I took it upon myself to find another company to get my policy through, which I did. Yesterday, 2 month after the cancellation date, I get a notice from Travelers Insurance for non-payment of my homeowner's policy. I was surprised because that's not who I placed my policy with. Looking at the notice, I see that Segal Insurance is listed as the agent, so I call the owner and ask what this it was because I never authorized or agreed to have my policy placed with Travelers & he replies that he doesn't know so he will call me back. Today he calls back and he still can't give me a straight answer, I remind him that I never authorized him to bind coverage with Travelers, I never heard back from him after June and I never signed anything. He said "I don't know why you are making a federal case out of this" I lost my mind and said I pay you to be my agent, to work with me, for me and to advocate for me and you did nothing, no call back no letters, no policy documents, nothing, I had to find my own coverage and hung up. He's rude, condescending and lazy, I do not know how he is still in business but it makes sense as to why Vermont Mutual cut ties with him.

I've been with them for 15 years. I've always gotten excellent service (even when they were fixing my mistakes!) and very good rates.

This agency is extremely rude and disrespectful. I am in shock on how this business is still running. After the rude and disrespectful phone call with the owner, I figured I would look up this company's reviews and see how this business is still running, especially from what I just experienced and now I know why! This business truly has no care in the world for anything. Even if you call for one simple questions you get yelled at like a child. I am sorry, but it seems to me the owner is the one that hasn't grown up yet and needs some good discipline! My advice, save yourself the stress and headaches and go to a different agency. I truly never experienced this extreme disrespect from any business. Don't get me wrong , not every business is pleasant but this business is way out of control.

***** ********************** is rude and not professional. The insurance took our money for the policy that has been cancelled and when we call **** ***** he told that policy has never been cancelled and only after some arguments agrees to mitigate this issue, I do not know what results we will have. Also they cancelled money for the car that we cancelled in January and since this time we try to get this money back. Mr. ********************** telling that he is working on the issue, but there are no results. All the time when we are calling him about it he is rude and saying that he is working on the issue, but still no results.

I would really give negative stars if possible.
The owner David J Segal is a total loser and knucklehead, he does terrible service to his clients and never gets the job done. I felt bad for the people working for him. Just a shady business overall to be honest. Everyone please stay away from this company and most importantly, away from this tr*shy guy.
Shame on you Segal!

Terrible agent. I agree with another reviewer - David is always too busy to get back to you. Was with him for years and never had a homeowner claim yet got horrible service with simple questions. When I said I was going to Geico, he said, “So you want to deal with a little green guy?” Yes, because I get online access and prompt customer service answers!

It's true that employees are often rushed here. However, I have consistently (over ten+ years) gotten the best insurance rates for both car and homeowners insurance compared to quotes from several other agencies. At the end of the day, that's what's most important to me.

Unbelievable how they could still be in business... obnoxious and rude people answer the phones... David, the owner- is always in a rush and never has time to speak... Overall a terrible experience- will not be returning for future services

Disaster incorporated. Stay away at all costs. They are dishonest, horrible service, horrible products. Pull up the Yahoo reviews from the past that they've somehow managed to push down the search lists. They are a disaster.
