The best mechanic in Mass.

We all rely heavily on our cars. No car ~ and our lives, (as we knew it), come to a panicked standstill. Two questions: Who can help me the quickest? (and) Are they going to charge me twice what the job is worth? My suggestion is: When, by reading reviews or a personal reference, you get the name of a good mechanic or shop, go there, tell them, "I was told that I can trust you". As a customer, show them trust, respect, and loyalty. If you found the "Right one", soon you'll be thinking, "I'm driving to my friend, to get my car repaired at a fair price". I've been driving for about 50 years. When the mechanic was an employee, I gave him a cash tip. The owner, gift cards, loyalty, friendship. I've seen guys drop their tools to come help me. (They do it ~ because of how I've treated them first.) I've had a number of different people fix my cars & trucks, and they were all friends.

A classic auto mechanic, who will always be busy - with or without your business. The owner, Bob Scafidi, is a nice guy, willing to keep my 11 year-old van on the road.

Bob used to be my mechanic because he was recommended to me years ago for a member of my family, mostly because of the value of his service. I always had relatively new cars so I brought mine only for things like change of bulbs, or check ups. For anything else I won't recommend him. I sent my boyfriend in SEPTEMBER with an older truck and was a nightmare. He couldn't figure out the problem and kept the truck at the garage for weeks, promessing to have the work done day after day and forgetting to call for updates so you have to be the one bothering with phone calls, or he just won't care. He charged my boyfriend $500 for labor and a change of the clutch that wasn't the issue (at the end was the transmission). Since he charged him and didn't fix the problem he told my boyfriend "find a transmission and I will install it for free, I feel bad about it" (free? he didn't fix the truck! just took the money)Meanwhile, he was driving without being able to go in reverse at all. So we tried to get that part on our own and he told us "I think it's the right one", then after a couple more weeks he told him it wasn't the right one. He even had the nerve to call and ask him to move the truck out of the garage during the snowstorm so he didn't have to shovel around, to what he denied, because it wasn't drivable. Bob finally called the company from where he usually gets parts and got the right one this week and after my boyfriend showing up everyday for 3 days he finished the job today 1/15/2014, and after a short test drive he had to come back to the garage because the muffler wasn't welded back properly and he had to fix it temporarely himself after borrowing metal tape from Bob, a total mess!!. I am certainly not coming back there ever. He is a nice old guy, but there is not excuse for playing with the time and money of others.
