Without question the very best pedicure anyplace. I have been a loyal customer for 15 years and would never go anyplace else. Wendy is the best, the prices are very fair and the service it top notch. I have very difficult feet to work on and Wendy always dose a superb job, so good my pediatrist endorses her.

Since this place received decent reviews and was less expensive then other salons in the area I decided to try it out, about a month and a half ago. I called ahead of time to see if there were openings and was told there were. She took my name, which I then assumed by this act I had made an appointment. When I got there I was the ONLY person there, and she insisted that I did not have an appointment. I reminded her of our earlier conversation, yet she said that I did not make an appointment. O-K-A-Y. I think the woman who was giving me my pedicure was new. She was nice enough, a little slow, and I noticed that they were not using a quick drying nail polish. Also, she was not leaving enough time for drying in between coats. That's always a bad sign. Someone came in while I was there and said she had been quoted $25 over the phone for a pedi. The woman (who may have been the owner) looked her up and down and said, "Oh you sounded younger over the phone, I thought you were a student and we offer student discounts. It's $30." When she was done with the customer, and I was being led to the drying area, I asked her about the student discount (because, though a bit older, I am in fact a student). She looked me up and down and didn't respond at first. So, I said, $25 right? And she said, "For you, $28." O-K-A-Y. My pedicure only lasted me until the next day despite being very careful and not wearing close-toed shoes for an entire day because I was worried that it wasn't fully dry, even after sitting under the lamp and fan for 20-25 minutes. It was actually cool that week and my feet were cold so I wore close-toed shoes the next day for a few hours. When I took them off that evening, my big toes were totally smudged. I give them 2 stars because the woman who did my pedicure, even though very slow, was very nice. I will never go there again.

I've been a client at the Fingernails Salon for the past three years. I had lived in Newton Centre and have since moved to Melrose. I still return to Newton for my nail care. The shop may look simple and not ultra tech. I think that is it's charm . The owner has the most infectious laugh---- and makes it a point to remember your name. She has an excellent staff and they all give you their special attention-----they truly care about what they do and give you the time that is needed to do an excellent job. . In addition to nail care, they have an excellent skin care consultant . I have enjoyed my facials and have learned a great deal . I have followed a very simple and effective skin care cleansing and moisturizing RX plan. I now have a very healthy and glowing s complexion --which some people have noticed . I give this salon a 5 ***** rating. If you have a sense of humor and are curious ---ask about the massage chairs -I had such a fun day today and left feeling relaxed and HAPPY.

I had my first visit just two weekends ago and I was pleasantly pleased with the experience. I live in Newton Center and have just been trying each little nail place as I go - had totally been judging and avoiding Fingernails as a potential dive just based on the silly name. But it's just what I like in a nail salon. Quick, easy and relatively inexpensive. I must have called three other salons before ducking in here, and they were all booked. But Fingernails took me right away as a walk up - perfection! It might not be the tidiest salon I've ever seen, but the price and service is right. I got their Harmony Gelish manicure and 12 days later it is still looking great! No chips, no peeling. At $25 for a gel/shellac style manicure, you really can't go wrong. I will definitely be going back to Fingernails soon.

I went to this nail salon for a few months, and sadly I won't be going back. I have a brand new set of acryllics, and they have not even been on for a week, and two have already broken. This is not the first time it's happened to me at this place... and I am NOT rough on my hands. Not to mention every single time I went to Fingernails, I was charged a different amount for the same exact service. My hands are in pretty good shape and the woman who did my nails last time cut my finger pretty badly (deeply) last time to the point where I was bleeding all over the place and I had to wear a band-aid on my finger for a few days. I usually scheduled an appointment with them, and even with an appointment I would find myself waiting sometimes even up to a half an hour. Last time I went, I scheduled an appointment, they called me a half hour before my appointment and asked me to come in early. So I did. I sat there, waited, and waited. Finally, at the time, which would have been my original appointment time, they sat me down. Why did they even bother telling me to come in early and waste my time? Some of the people here were really nice, and I did get a really good manicure once in a while. The location was convenient for me, but all of the things I mentioned above make this place worth avoiding. More bad experiences than good.

I got a solid manicure here. I'm reviewing after 5 days and its held up very well without chips, even on top of a busy work week. The owners are Vietnamese and take pride in their work. The woman and guy were both talkative and made me feel like a regular even though it was my first time. I sometimes have a hard time deciding on a color and the guy seemed to read my mind and picked the perfect one from the OPI Spain collection that I loved instantly. The cuticle trim was painless. The whole manicure lasted 45 minutes with no rushing. I accidentally smudged a nail in the dryer and the guy fixed it seamlessly with pleasure. I found the place to be clean and in good condition. $12 later, out the door with happy hands!

The 5-star rating description reads "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" In my opinion, it really is as good as it gets. I love being able to plop in the seat of Vivi, the girl that does my nails, and let myself relax. And I can't reiterate enough (see previous review) how my nails always look like they were painted with love. Despite having cuticles that always seem to be out of control, Vivi is patient and takes the time to make sure she's gotten all the hangnails and minimized my cutes as much as she can. She also knows my taste and knows that I don't like the "typical" manicures, so she is always imagining new ways of making my nails stand out. I can't even count the number of times after having gone to Fingernails and had people compliment either on the style or the color. Nothing is too out there or too crazy for the Fingernails bunch. Whether you're going in for the standard manicure or a little something different...this is the place to go.
