Our guy Frank actually pulls us into the office. What dog is excited about the vet??? Frank is. He greets everyone like he hasn’t seen them in forever and cant wait to be taken back for his exam. This reaction from our loving, trusting dog tells us that he’s in a good place. The staff is amazing and are so good to our extremely excited and nosey dog. Thank you Banfield of Newton!!

Banfield hospital is pets and owners friendly. Staff always trying to assist and be helpful. It's a great place for routine checkups with convenient monthly payments.

I had a wellness plan for my cat at Banfield Pet Hospital for several years, and my overall experience has been utterly terrible. The worst came during the final days of my cat's life. My cat had been in and out of Banfield as well as the ER, and they were well aware of his rapidly declining condition. When I desperately needed advice about end-of-life care, I called Banfield two days in a row, asking to speak to his vet urgently. Each time, the front desk assured me that the vet would call me later that day, but those calls never came. They left me alone, abandoned, and utterly heartbroken, forced to make the painful decision to put my cat down without the guidance and support I should have received from his supposed caregivers. To add insult to injury, after my cat had passed away, Banfield had the audacity to attempt to charge me $133 for the upcoming two months of my wellness plan, despite knowing that my cat was no longer with us. I had to call and argue with them to rectify this absurd and heartless oversight. It's beyond comprehension how a company can demonstrate such a lack of empathy and basic decency. In addition to this nightmarish end experience with Banfield, I've had many disappointments throughout my time with them. Banfield's practice of mostly conducting drop-off appointments is very frustrating. It's nearly impossible to have a meaningful conversation with the vet and get your questions answered when you're forced to drop off your beloved pet and then wait for hours without any updates. This lack of communication is not only frustrating but also concerning when it comes to the well-being of our furry family members. I always hated leaving my cat just waiting all day at the place that stressed him out the most.Furthermore, Banfield Pet Hospital seems to have a knack for consistently running behind schedule and being understaffed. Phone calls often go unanswered and never returned. In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital has proven time and time again that they prioritize profit over the well-being of the pets they are entrusted with. Their negligent care, poor communication, and utter disregard for their clients during moments of extreme vulnerability are inexcusable. I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere.

A bunch of crooks do not bring your pet here, all they do is take take and can never pin point what is wrong with your pet. Go find other options then this place there are cheaper alternatives. You pay a monthly plan but still come out paying out of pocket with so many charges... I'm glad I took my pets out of this scam of a hell hole. There not even knowledgeable at what they do all there doctors suck.

Bry, Dr. Bryce, Rachel, Sabrina, Jack, and Dr. Lowry were exceptional. All of them have such a high level of expertise and compassion. Thank you so much.

I have nothing but good things to say about Banfield Newton. I'm at the vet very often and they're always able to accommodate last minute appointments when urgent. My 13/14 year old dog had to have her eye removed; Dr. Richards performed the enucleation and did an excellent job. I've had people and other vets compliment her work on the eye removal. My other pup is reactive and has to be muzzled at the vet; they've done an incredible job caring for him. I do recommend Banfield Newton for your pup's care.

To improve they need to train their staff better not mislead people like they did to me .

Great vet in Newton area. They are friendly and helpful when it came to our new puppy. A monthly payment plan is offered and that drastically reduces cost during the first year of having a pet. They make the appointments quick and convenient. If you need any medications they also stock most in store, or will verify through chewy very quickly. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a vet

Needed 2 travel health certificates for my dog under short notice. I informed them of this from the beginning. I was told if I dropped my dog off first thing today, they could have the certificates in time for my travel on Wednesday. I dropped the dog off when they opened at 8 AM, and was told it would be around $400. About an hour later they called me and said it would now be double that, since I needed two certificates lone EU and one UK) but they knew that from the beginning. Now they want to double the price?? I told them to just do the EU one and I would get the UK certificate in the EU. Suddenly, they cannot get the certificates done in time. The whole thing reeks of bait and switch and extortion tactics. They think they have me over a barrel so they double their prices? And when I balk they suddenly cannot get it done in time? Explain to me why the price *doubles* when it is the exact same information on both certificates and they are going to the same place (the USDA office)? Either way, just terrible business practices. I would avoid this place like the plague. If you do use them, expect to be hit with "unexpected" charges that may double your bill too!

Unfortunately we have had two negative experiences within 1 year. We were told by the Admin person we were late (by 10 minutes) although there were 2 people checking-in in front of us the 2nd time) so she'll need to ask the doctor if he/she would be willing to see our pet. The Admin left the desk and returned a few minutes later. The response was we will need to leave our dog for the day rather than have our pre-scheduled in-room appointment, or make a new appointment on a different date OR come back at 5pm. Our appt was at 10:30am! Having had a similar situation with the same doctors on hand, I asked if they would at least check our dog's paw because it had been bleeding after the nail trim here the previous week. The Admin said no. I asked if a tech could give our pet something for the paw again because there is blood on the towel in the car. No response. I'm almost in tears of frustration. We have been with Banfield for several years. Having 2 pets, there were times we waited 20-30 min to see a doctor after check-in. It's obvious that the company over schedules the visits and squeezes people in. We pay monthly for their best wellness healthcare program so our furry babies should have the best care Our reason for not doing day drop offs is that our boy is in his golden years and very nervous/anxious when in a crate. I want to note that I had a nice interaction with 2 tech staff members who I believe agreed that this policy is unfair, inconsiderate, and poor service.UPDATE: despite the response here, nobody contacted me from the corporate office. Most recently I spoke to a vet doctor. The doctor said they are in need of nearly everything including more vet assistants. Understaffed and overworked. Until Banfield solves this issue pets will not receive the best personalized care.

My experience at Banfield in Newton was incredibly frustrating. I had scheduled a drop-off appointment for my dog at 8 AM and made it clear that I needed to pick up my dog by 11:30 AM because of work. I informed the front desk about my time constraint, and they assured me they would relay the message to the doctors. However, when I arrived, the front desk asked if they could administer certain vaccines without consulting me first, to which I agreed.About 20 minutes later, I received a voicemail from the clinic, stating that my dog was due for specific vaccines and asking for my permission to administer them. I called back immediately, but unfortunately, my calls went unanswered, with each attempt going to voicemail. Frustrated and concerned, I decided to drive to Banfield at the scheduled pick-up time to inquire about their phone situation.Upon reaching the front desk, I asked if their phone was working properly. The receptionist informed me that they had been busy and apologized for not answering my calls. I explained that a doctor had called me and requested a response, even though I had already provided an answer before I left. The receptionist apologized once again and stated that it would take an additional 20 minutes. After waiting for 25 minutes, I inquired about the delay, but instead of addressing my concerns, the front desk employee engaged in a side conversation for a few minutes, knowing I was in a hurry. Eventually, she went to the back to check on the status. Upon returning, she informed me that they were waiting for the Benadryl before administering the vaccine. I expressed my frustration, but the front desk remained silent.Throughout my wait in the waiting area, I noticed that two of the front desk staff members were not as busy as they had made it seem. They were engaged in non-work-related conversations, while only one of them was actually attending to their duties. It was disheartening to witness such unprofessional behavior.Nearly an hour later, a vet tech finally approached me to ask some questions regarding my dog's vaccine history. I reminded her that all the necessary information should be in my dog's records, and they should know which vaccines she was due for. The tech acknowledged this and stated that it would take an additional 7 minutes. I reluctantly waited for another 15 minutes. When my dog was finally brought out, I asked if they could charge my card on file because I was running late for work. The tech said she would check if the card was on file, but then proceeded to help other people without addressing my urgent request. After waiting for an additional 5 minutes, I approached her and explained that I really needed to leave and requested that they charge my card on file. She confirmed the card details, and I left the establishment feeling even more frustrated.I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessionalism displayed by this establishment. It was the worst experience I have ever had, and I strongly advise against bringing your pet to this clinic.

I had an appointment at 10:30. I did arrive a couple of minutes late. But I had to wait in the check in line for over ten minutes because no one was at the check in desk. They said they they were understaffed and they couldn’t see my cat. The person in front of me was also having issues with scheduling/lack of communication. With this being my first impression of the place, I won’t be coming back
