The service Techs are fantastic. The first time I used them was after another garage could not figure out what the issue was and suggested I go to dealership which said the fix would be close to $4000. They diagnosed the issue and fixed it for less than 10% of what the dealership quoted. As a bonus they have loaner cars which help with those of us who are always on the go. A+ Service all the way around.

I have been taking my car to State Automotive for years! The team is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and so helpful. One of the things I appreciate the most is that they always explain the options very clearly (well, that and the loaner car is super convenient :)

I have an incredibly finicky car to service, but I refuse to let go of it because I simply can't find a replacement that suffices. This place knows how to diagnose any issues while listening to what I can and cannot fix at the moment (along with a repair estimate for each fix so I can plan!). The staff always helps me with a courtesy vehicle, and to call them polite, courteous, and personal is an understatement. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a thoughtful, detailed assessment of their vehicle. Top-notch service, incredibly reliable. Even fixed mis-repairs from another shop.

Very disappointed!!!!! My car was indicating it was overheated. However, it was driving fine and drove it here where i was charged $400 to tell me I needed a new motor for $8k.
I had it towed to a certified GM dealership where the master techs couldn't recreate the overheating and the engine was found to be in good working order.
I recently moved to MA and just had a MA inspection at a shop in Sailsbury and they also confirmed my engine is perfectly well.
I did have to have all the spark plugs replaced due to misfiring as a result of whatever State Auto did.
Ultimately it turned out all I needed was antifreeze. My Engine is perfectly fine and running great.
I'm not quite sure what happened here but it was a very unpleasant experience and I will never go back here.

I actually drive out of my way to bring my car here. They've taken care of routine things as well as more emergent ones. I never feel as though I'm being overcharged, and I'm always kept in the loop on the progress. It's super convenient to be able to bring it to them to get everything done. The last time I went, I needed an oil change and an inspection sticker, so they just brought it to the inspection place for me it was great to be able to save that trip. They even helped set up a detailing appointment for me.

Don’t get your car inspected here if you care about it!!!
They drive your car away to another shop 10+ minutes away. I only found this out when I saw my car pulling off the lot instead of into the garage. When they brought my car back I politely told them that I would’ve liked to have been notified that they would drive my car somewhere else. The employee wasn’t the least bit understanding or apologetic. Instead, she was dismissive and defensive. I understood why it needed to go to their other shop for an inspection but she wouldn’t acknowledge that it is wildly unusual for the mechanic to drive your car for 20 minutes unsupervised to do so. They should notify their customers of this prior to inspection and give them the option to go straight to the other location.

Andrew and his team are great. I brought in my car at 10:30 at night and Andrew was still in the shop working. I just expected to drop the keys and wait for a call but he took the time to figure out what I needed and even offered to give me a ride up the street to my house. I have to say, Ive been to many shops and Ive never come across being able to speak to someone that late at night (Ive had plenty night time breakdowns). Less than a week later, my car was all set even after I said to take time with it as I was not in a rush to get it back. It needed WORK. Highly recommend these guys and will be back when needed.

State Automotive does a fantastic job on foreign models. I have had two cars serviced here and the detail and inspections performed at each visit lets me know what needs to be addressed. They alway discuss options and how necessary a particularly repair is so you can plan for any major work.

I have had many great experiences with State Automotive, which is the best. They will let me know ahead of time what services I will need, which helps me prioritize my money. They have explained issues with my car over and over until I understand entirely. They are such patient people. If you are looking for a reliable, honest, skilled mechanic, I highly recommend State Automotive.
