The problems at this store on purchase st. In New Bedford isn't so much with the employees, it's the management . Freezers at this store have been out of commission for nearly 3 months now ..Also, they often have no bags, plastic or paper...the paper bags rip like they're made out of tissue paper.

This is by far the worst Family Dollar I've ever been in. Look how disgusting the cooler looks, mold growing here. Even if the cooler doesn't work why not clean it up before shutting it down. Store is always a mess, the employees are a joke - always on there phones or outside smoking and I'm talking about both pot and cigarettes and not to mention they all seem a bit disabled. Like who the hell is running this store and why the hell doesn't corporate step in at this point. Every time I'm waiting in line the employees are always VERY unprofessional in fact when I was checking out the cashier legit picked up her ringing phone and shared that her boyfriend had been calling her all night like I actually cared. Recently, I had cashier Nicole refused to sell me cigarettes even tho I go in here every other day and buy them when I explained to her that I always come in here and on this one day I didn't have my wallet with me (I was coming back from the barbershop) even tho she sees me in there often and has ID me in the past she REFUSED to sell to me. How many times do you need to see my ID when you know I am WAY over 18 years old (I'm almost 40 with a full beard and sleeves, also they do not scan ids here just check the dates) bottom line is someone needs to step up and take control of this store get rid of the lazy staff and get some real management in there because the image that is being portrayed is just upsetting it's like no body values there job enough to take it seriously. DIRTY COOLERS / OPEN DRINKS /UNPROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES three things that will shut a business down. It's always a mess and takes forever to get in and out. I'm shocked the Massachusetts board of health hasn't gone in there yet because they would shut this place down. Also would like to note that the outside of the store is also a mess, have seen the employees throwing buckets of water to wash away vomit and other miscellaneous bodily fluids right at the front entrance I know it's a rough area, but I guess it's the type of people that this attracts. Never in my life have I ever heard of a return policy like downtown location. Even with a receipt you can only get a gift card for returns. The policy states returns with receipt are given back how you paid. Never been so inconvenienced. Will not be returning.

From one Dollar Store to another, they are 'about the same'. There are no 'TRUE' $.99 Dollar Stores anymore. The Dollar Stores, Walmart to Target, and everything in-between, etc... "All" sell China made things/stuff. The liberal & rino's in Wash-DC "SOLD-OUT" the US manufacturing system. Wash-DC politics have 3 words with-in it. Liars, cheaters, and thieves. #45 was the best I have ever witnessed. #47 coming to all neighborhoods soon, ...period ☮️

I paid for my box of cigarettes and she never put them in the bag, so I tried calling the phone number that is listed and it puts me through to a store in Cinanatti. There is no possible way tobgetvthroughbtobthis store by phone and I live all the way in the north end to have to make a trip when it was not my fault. I even tried calling every family dollar store in New Bedford and not one employee has the new number. I also sent them an email. I would really like what I paid for and I do understand that not everyone is perfect and ppl make mistakes sometimes, but not being able to talk to anyone and voice my concern is absolutely absurd. Especially, now I am home without cigarettes and I planned on having a wonderful relaxing weekend with my fiancé. I would love it, if someone would respond back to me on here or on the email I sent with my phone number. Thank you

Very bad working conditions at the Family Dollar, downtown New Bedford. No heat in the store especially during the drop in temperature we're having. Employees were very uncomfortable.

The downtown location is very convenient and they carry a good variety of so many things BUT the store looks like they filmed the tornado ?️ scene from "The Wizard of Oz" in there! It's a mess! I half expect to turn a corner and find the Wicked Witch of the East's feet sticking out from under an unopened case of Pampers after it toppled over and crushed her to death!!
