293A Elliot St, Newton“Nice yarn store, pretty much the only one left on the area; a knitter's paradise: yarn of every kind, needless, hooks, buttons, and the owner who can always provide excellent guidance.”
“Best knitting store ever! Elissa is the kindest and most helpful person - she makes anyone feel welcome in her store whether you are a beginner or advanced. She has a great selection of yarns/supplies and classes - you will not be disappointed”
“I have attended Open Sew for over a year and developed quilting as a lifetime hobby to cherish. The teachers are knowledgeable and helpful and skilled in making a class run. I recommend the organization for anyone who wants to learn sewing and quilting!”
“Simon and Tom, the owners, are super friendly and helpful. The selection is amazing. Wonderful vintage cards and memorabilia right alongside the latest and greatest wax releases. Boxes and boxes to browse if that's your thing (relics, dollar cards, etc.). High-end auto's in the case. Tons of memorabilia from all the major sports (most of it Boston based of course). All very reasonable prices. I love this place!!! One of if not THE favorite of all the shops I've been to nationwide.”

78 Bowers St, Newtonville“Had some old coins lying around for years went to Colony Coin and met Harvey to discuss the options. He was knowledgeable and a ture master of the art of coin collecting. I was amazed with the level of detail that he provided for each coin. He is the best of the best!”
“I brought Lee some unusual American coins I found in my in-laws' personal effects. Little did I know that he is one of the main experts on US coins. I very much enjoyed talking with him. He carefully evaluated what I brought and gave me a very good price for the ones of value. It was a pleasure dealing with him and I would recommend him highly.”

1 Worcester Rd, Framingham“This has been added to my list of places to check out when I'm in need of holiday decor. I went in the other day looking for ornament storage bins, and in addition to having a 70% off Christmas items section, they had a large Easter section right when you walked in, a decent selection of Valentine's Day decor and even a small area of Saint Patrick's Day stuff out. And to be honest, a lot of the stuff was really cute! This store is clean, things are never too out of sorts on the shelves, and there's plenty of parking since it's located in the outdoor mall, Shopper's World. It can be hard finding a store rep if you have a question about finding anything, or if they have something in stock, etc. When I came in, I only saw 1 sales rep and they were working the register so I had to wait in line just to ask a question. All in all, Michael's is pretty solid!”
“Arts & crafts galore, picture framing wonderland, and all the holiday decor you can think of. I just stopped by to see if they might have some cute Christmas-themed signs or trinkets for my new apartment and was blown away by the amount of stuff they had. Not to mention, the shelves were fully stocked for the most part!It felt like all the Christmas stuff was all on sale?? I mean everywhere I looked it was either 40% off, 50% off, or buy 1 get 1 50% off. Trouble for me that's for sure. This was a fabulous surprise. I went in looking for the possibility of some cute Christmas stuff, and left with and entire carriage full of stuff: a 7 foot fake tree, white lights and colored lights for my tree and to put up outside, garland for my fireplace that looked real and not tacky, a star topper, fake greenery to put in a vase, and more. The fake trees on display really take the cake here. They are all out on display the second you walk in, so you can get an idea to scale of what they look like with their lights on as well as the size and height of all them. They were on crazy sale and even without the sale it seemed like reasonable prices to me!I come here often throughout the year but this is the place to go if you're need something for the holidays!”
“I remember going to Gilbert's when it was in Needham! We're talking over 20 years ago! I used to run up to the store before it opened on Saturdays and Sundays and spend all day hanging out I'd talk sports, buy a pack of basketball cards, watch people open packs, get Gary a sub or a slice from Needham House of pizza. Artie!!! I'd have tons of store credit built up. I'd buy a Larry Bird card or a cheaper Jordan card! I'd always ask to go into the basement or to see some Babe Ruth cards! He let me in the basement a few times lol. Gary built his store into a real hangout spot for the kids in Needham and it was safe and fun. Gary always made it such a fun place to be. As a youngster I couldn't wait to be the first one at the store. I just loved hanging out there! I was really sad to see Gary leave Needham but I'm happy he's still in business and that people are still getting to enjoy Gilbert's”
