Stop & Shop is a solid and clean neighborhood grocer on the island, offering a surprisingly good selection of groceries. It is a great place for fresh produce and meats, and they have everything else too, including a home maid fruit yogart that is noted as the best deal. Customers can find what they are looking for, with helpful employees available to assist. The store has a large public parking lot. However, prices are definitely higher than off-island, which is true of most island venues. The variety can sometimes be less than bigger locations, and some local, prepared options are considered lackluster. Despite the prices, it is the main grocery option on the island, where customers can get exactly what they need with friendly and helpful cashiers.
Food in Nantucket is very expensive, Stop and Shop kept the price down with good quality of produce and basic necessities without breaking the bank.

Prices are definitely higher than off-island - but it’s a solid and clean shop. Can sometimes be less busy than the “bigger” Stop & Shop - trade off is less variety.
