Stayed at hotel Thursday to Sunday Thanksgiving weekend. General observations:Rooms: Fantastic... newly renovated, clean.Service: Excellent. 95% of the people we interacted with were happy, positive, engaging and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring our stay was A+. Room was well made up every day.Location: Great... easily walkable to anything downtown... and bike'able throughout the Island... staff was very helpful helping us plan our route to Cisco brewery (fun).Food service: Know what you are in for: Thanksgiving diner... it was a buffet... a buffet is a buffet... while raw bar (food and staff) was A level fair; everything else was just OK; golden coral buffet level... We were last sitting, several of the deserts were essentially gone; had to literally scrape the remaining apple crisp just to get a spoonful... turned us off to dining / bar experience... went out for all other meals... would pass on the buffet, take your luck at a restaurant in town or go to the harbor stop and shop for sandwiches and wine in the room.Tip: Get up early for sunrise at the lighthouse (awesome), walk to steps beach (not far, great neighborhood), take advantage of bikes and locks (make almost every part of the island accessible within 15 min via safe bike paths).

What an excellent place! We came here for our honeymoon and could not have been more impressed. Conscientious and thoughtful staff from the bar to the clerks to the drivers. Will be coming back, that’s for sure!Thanks especially to Joseph for the room upgrade and Karen for finding our written vows after our checkout!Nearby activities: Walking to Brandt Point for sunrise is a must!Food & drinks: The White Elephant is our favorite drink in years!

I have been to a lot of hotels in this world and this one is much different in a positive way. The attention to detail is outstanding. I had left my bags in my in-laws room while our room was being prepared and the staff knew this and sent a person to get the bags from my in-laws room and bring them to our room. The hotel does nightly turndown service. They have very nice vehicle onsite which takes you within 1.0 mile of the hotel and will pick you up. The food was good in the hotel and at the event I attended. It is a very short walk to the downtown area. I am planning on returning in the warmer months so I can enjoy the pool and the beach that is located next to the property. To the managers and staff please keep up the nice work.

I was very excited to come to this hotel only because I know it's so damn expensive but there was an exclusive rate for $359 and yes it was off season but I got the basic room tent rate which meant there was a event happening on the main lawn which blocks the view of the lawn and waterview. Well this "tent" ended up being a convention hall. The main building wasn't as grandiose as I thought it would be but nonetheless the hotel has been renovated to contemporary luxury. The hotels and rooms are spread out in the town and separate complexes. The room was comfortable but I wasn't overly wowed because it wasn't luxury. It was very basic for the price on or off season. No wow effect whatsoever. The service was fine and everybody seems to be professional and polite. They have pastries and coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon In the lobby area. When you walk through the hallways to your room they call the art gallery. My husband won a use of a BMW for 4 hours to see the sites of Nantucket which was nice. The hotel holds your stuff at checkout if you want to go into town and your ferry leaves late. The hotel is near children's Beach and you can walk to the Brant Point lighthouse and Beach. There is a shuttle bus that picks you up from the dock to the hotel. There is a restaurant in the hotel Grant Point grill which is very good but again the ambience was underwhelming inside. There is a pool but it was closed for the season. Elevator was broken too. I would like to experience this hotel without a mammoth structure on the grounds of the hotel. I can't say I was impressed but I don't believe it was worth the price I paid for even off-season. I think that's great that people want to pay a lot of money per night and I don't have a problem with that if I can justify it. The room didn't even come with a full breakfast.

We had a great lunch at the White Elephant. The food and the setting were beautiful and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon at the white elephant. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff who congratulated us. When we got to our room, they upgraded it and had champagne and chocolate strawberries with a note. Was SO surprised by this king gesture. Our stay was nothing but fantastic. So happy we stayed here!

We stayed in the “INN” at The White Elephant”.Front desk staff is not warm and friendly. A bit snippy. Concierge is wonderful.Dirty carpet in the elevator and the stairs, and hallways,Our suite seemed “tired”, outdated furnishings.Not a 5 star property at the “INN”.

Wonderful atmosphere and great customer service. We came here for the Fourth of July week. Very clean and comfortable rooms. We got one room that sleeps 2 and has French doors to the view of the water and surrounding neighbors. The other room was very spacious with a king bed and pull out couch. They have shuttle services to take you around town and/or to their pool. However, you need a taxi or Uber to get from the airport to hotel. They have delicious meals too at Brant Point Grill. I do recommend the White Elephant.

Hands down, the best hotel on the Island! Location is perfect and close to downtown, without being in the busiest area. The rooms are beautiful, large, well attended, and pristine clean. Service at the White Elephant is second to none. Very well trained staff, rides to wherever we want to go, polite and friendly. We've stayed at other high end hotels, but will now only stay at the White Elephant. Easily earns 5 stars!

We stayed at the White Elephant Inn at the end of May, and it was perfect. The room was beautiful and luxurious. The service was top notch and staff is so friendly and helpful. Ronaldo picked us up from the ferry. It is a perfect location, an easy 5 min walk from town. Would definitely recommend.

don't count on the White Elephant for any concierge dinner reservations. We asked for a saturday dinner at 7 pm and got a wednesday at 5:45 - not even close = make reservations yourself

This is one of the classiest hotels my husband has stayed in thus far. The customer service is exceptional. Guests are escorted to restaurants nearby in a luxury SUV. The rooms are cozy and whimsical. I personally loved all the elephant themed decor. The views from the room are serene. This is a perfect place to stay if you’re visiting Boston or nearby areas. Keep up the great work White Elephant!

The White Elephant hotel in Nantucket - it's amazing. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.The rooms are gorgeous and decorated to perfection, with all the amenities you could need and comfy beds with high-quality linens for a great night's sleep.The location is right on the water with gorgeous harbor views from the sun deck or your own balcony.Brant Point Grill, the on-site restaurant, is top-notch, with amazing food and service that make it perfect for a special occasion.Seriously, you won't regret staying at The White Elephant - it's an unforgettable spot.
