It was a very unfortunate thing to have Dave be my first “mechanic” experience. After a few trips around the block, I now understand how special he is, and I have been stuck buying Saabs ever since. After having Dave fix my first Saabs I believed that any repair could be done in less than 2 hours and that it was customary to observe and ask questions of mechanics, stooping underneath your car with them and asking what everything was and why such and such was where and what it did. I later learned in the city that this is not common practice, instead you drop off your car, they won’t even let you watch them work, or ask any questions. Instead they do some little thing or replace a part you can do your self in under an hour and then charge you 3k for doing it over the course of three weeks. Most of the time they don’t even do this right. They replace the clutch but leave the dished fly wheel which costs you 3 clutches until you bring it back to Dave and he makes it right in under two hours.

I have had David in my phone for the last 4 Years and had to use him this month to figure out what was wrong with my classic 900 turbo. Ended up not being a big issue and he looked the car over and made some other repair recommendations which I had him do. If you have any Saab that has issues please get over to him to fix!!!! He is a great guy and honestly really cares for Saabs!!!!

I own a 2005 saab Arc that I thought the transmission was blown on. So I posted a message on saabnet and I had a few people tell me to bring it to Dave the owner of the rocky top guru. So I did and it went as follows. David had it for a week and went over the whole car. It turns out the transmission was good!!! So great news but needed a few things fixed. An alternator, rear brake lines, flex pipe, coolant leak and a good saab programming, window gasket , sub frame bushings , throttle body and a serpentine belt. David had it for a few weeks and when I received my saab back it was a almost new car!!! This guy is amazing and his wife Cheryl and his son I don't remember his name but a super awesome guy!! Made us feel like family!!! Thank you David and family !!!

100% excellent service. The work was completed on time and on budget. My 12 year old Saab handles and runs like new. It's abundantly clear that they know the car from top to bottom. Don't hesitate, just go there to get your Saab fixed.

It was difficult to find because there's no sign and the road was kind of hidden. Anyway, due to the coronavirus, we had to drop the car off to rest for a day. The next day, we got an early call back with a list of the things that needed to be fixed. The price he quoted was more than fair and was affordable. The whole process was quick and would have been even quicker if not for the coronavirus. When we drove our car home, it was very noticable how much better it ran. We were very happy with the results and feel confident going there again if we have any future problems with our car.

Been meaning to post a review for ages. David Dickinson is a genuine Saab-whisperer. A real find, and a good guy. We live far down the East Coast, but save our big Saab repairs for when we are in Western Mass visiting relatives, just so we can go to Rocky Top. If you are a dedicated Saab owner (which is basically all Saab owners these days) you owe it to the rest of our small community to help keep David busy as Saabs get rarer and rarer.Services: Brakes

A little out of the way, but well worth it. Excellent work, completed promptly for a fair price. Can't ask for more.

David Dickinson is a fantastic mechanic! He also happens to be a very kind, smart, and generous soul. A real standup guy. I have had many Saabs and some other mechanics, David is in a class by himself. No one else compares! Plus his shop is a on a beautiful hill, up a backroad, chickens wonder around. Go to Rocky Top.
